A hundred and more years ago trappers who made a living at it didn't dye or wax their traps. In fact they never brought their traps home. At the end of the season they left their traps hanging in a tree. By carrying them around today's trappers only help contaminate them. Fifty or more years ago I dyed and waxed my traps in one operation. Threw the wax in with the dye and pulled the traps slowly through the wax on top. Today, there's liquids and paint and a host of products totally unnecessary, promoted by merchants as necessary!!

That sure is true. I'd say the best way to learn something is by trial and error

do you recommend long spring or coil spring traps for longevity and simplicity, also kinda wondering whats easier to get out of if you trap your hand?
