i believe this opinion is shared by the majority of nightwish fans... i watched tarja and annete live performances, still havent got the the chance to watch floor, but from what i´ve seen in videos she combines the best qualities of both women: AMAZING voice, even better personality. Just love her, and that big soulfull smile of hers
I love Floor AND I love Nightwish. And I am so pleased she is now the new vocalist. That being said.... ReVamp is an EXCELLENT band with a lot less emotional damage than Nightwish has and I am a bit bummed she has put ReVamp on the back burner to become the third vocalist in another band. Even if it is Nightwish, one of my most fav bands of all time.

Floor and Tarja are about equal really, it's a matter of preference. Anette, unfortunately, couldn't sing the old Nightwish songs to save her life. Can't even blame her, they were simply not written for her. It's like trying to run in shoes that are too big for you. No matter how hard you try, you'll never be good and always look awkward.

I like all three. Floor has a similar vibe to Tarja, and Annette's is just different. I think Annette got flack for how Tarja was fired as much as anything. Perhaps Floor would have got the same flack?
When Floor hit the high note at the key change, it brought a tear to my eye. Please Nightwish, Keep Floor around for a while.

I still love Tarja. So sad that she left - her operatic style really just made the Nightwish sound for me. That being said, Floor Jansen is great and I'm glad they found her. All three singers are very skilled - it's really just a matter of preference as to which style of vocalist is preferred. To me, Tarja's style best fits the music , that's all. In any case, Long live Nightwish!
Tarja will always be hailed as a godess by Nightwish fans cuz she was first and original,made th e bend famous with her voice, and that's ok! She's also respected cuz of her classical opera trained voice, but to me that was always smth a little irritating in her voice regardless of her talent and crazy capabilities. (even though I really liked her charisma)To me Floor just blows them both out of the water! unreal voice! Can be soft, hard, sophisticated, metal.. everything!! and sounds like she has the biggest range! Plus she has such a strong presence... she is BAD ASS!! Anette is sweet but pour girl was totally out of place in Nightwish.. always looked like she walked on the wrong stage... dunno what they were thinking with her...

Annette could be a great singer, but thing is, she is out of place in a metal band like Nightwish. I could fairly easily see her doing pop or something. Maybe with more developing she could do metal. Difference between Tarja and Floor and Annette, Tarja and Floor had been trained and were used to being up on big stages. Annette was fairly new, so you got to give her props for that too.

I liked annete and tarja's versions, tarja because is, for me, the best singer in the world (then it comes taeyeon from snsd search solos from her and you would be amazed) and annette because it gives the song the type of pop feeling that I like.

I started listening Nightwish with their first album and I followed them along their path. I new Floor from other projects and, despite Tarja made the Nightwish sound, I think Floor is more effective on stage, she's more empathic with the audience and she has really a lovely stage acting. That's why in my opinion she is a perfect fit for Nightwish.

Floor Jansen is my favorit.
Anette is like an Angel or a Fairy, Tarja is like a Queen or a Diva and Floor is like a Warrior or an Amazon :D So I love each of them in their own way :D
This Is just my opinion and this is how I view nightwish. Tarja gave it passion, annette gave it personality and floor gives it heart, thus making up a very unique band that can and will adapt to change.
From this you can conclude that nightwish is not run by one person, but rather the band as a whole.
Floor Jansen is a stunning and talented beauty.. fits nightwish perfectly
The extra power in Floor's voice in Nemo is simply mind-blowing. This is not a knock on Tarja, her's is the original after all. I can only imagine NEMO studio recorded with Floor.

Anette would win American idol... more a pop voice. If she did a song with LMFAO it would sell a million copies in a week. Tarja has an amazing opera style voice and kills on songs like this one. Tarja couldn't do a pure rock song if her life depended on it. Floor has one of the best rock voices I have ever heard. I am really looking foreword to seeing Floor live with Nightwish and hearing their new cd with her. Her Opera style voice is good. Not great but serviceable.

Tarjas "oh how I wish" is in my opinion what Nemo makes so special and it was this particular part of the song which makes me fall in love with NW back in the days.
With Tarja Nightwish lost all of his magic. Floor is a insane vocalist but she sounds to metal mainstreamish and to clean to me.
She is a perfect, versatile vocalist but she has no own signature, she is like a perfect skilled back vocal or music teacher who can cover everything but who isn't able to create something own and unique.
And thb I like when Floor covers the old NW songs but her own songs with NW are by far not that magic, unique and "woooow" like the albums with Tarja or Anette because she has no specific signature. She is a insane vocalist but by far not an artist.
Nightwish replaced Tarjas vocals but they have never replaced the lack of art they lost with her.
I guess, you don't know Floor at all, she has been an extreme good vocalist in the 15 years before she joined nightwish. She wrote songs and fronted to other successful bands. BTW, she has added he signature to many Nightwish songs... Just listen to Ghost Love Score and note she added an entire verse to the song.

First of all, i've noticed that you gave Tarja the verses where she didn't really have to hit any high notes, while you gave Annette all of the extremely high notes, which, by the way, was definitely not made for her nor her style of singing. Will all of you so-called "Nightwish fans" deny that Imaginaerum, with Annette on vocals was a bad album? I'm sure all of you praised it when it came out, and probably still are rocking to it, at least, I am! But as soon as she got out of the band, all the hate on her started Again, while on the other hand, when she sang on Imaginaerum, everyone was with her!

That's absolutely true. I'm a big fan of Tarja's voice, not only because of Nightwish but mainly for her work with classical music. Nightwish is only part of her work but she's the reason why I started to listen NW.
She's also the reason why I didn't bother to buy their records after her leaving. Not my cup of tea.
It seems that people in youtube are die hard Nightwish religious, even fanatical what comes to NW vocalists. People change their minds as they change their pants, which only shows to me that people can't be trusted.
This kind of capricious audience is something that I can not wish for any artists. They have no loyalty what so ever. As fast as they enthrone any vocalist of NW, they also drop them down and insult them.
I feel bad for all these ladies who've been part of this cruel fan game and yet I'm happy that they all have made it great and still do. But if you want to find greatest singer/vocalist you could as well put them all to sing Ave Maria or any traditional song, then we probable could tell who hits the notes, meanwhile this kind of talking is meaningless.
People like them for many reasons, it's a matter of opinion and taste. These ladies are different; one is a classical soprano, one has pop background and one is mezzo soprano.
well said!!! i enjoy nw since oceanborn, ages ago... i was heartbroken when tarja was fired, up to the point i sold my cds (i bought them back after a couple of years) and stopped to listen nw. but after a couple of years, i finally listened to nw with anette, and i was thinking she was quite good on dpp... i also found via her blog that's she's a real sweetheart. if she was good with dpp, she was stellar in imaginaerum, nw best album along with wishmaster. special mention to slow, lolve, slove and scaretale (she really scared me on this one!)... the most amazing thing about this album is that she recorded her vocal parts shortly after having a broken rib, and wasn't totally fit...... but the everything went crazy, and having heard on both part i will not put the blame on her! she said basically the same things than tarja, which made me thinks that the guys are the ones to blame (and don't get me wrong, they're great musicians, i just wouldn't say the same about them as human beings)... if they couldn't deal with their singers, they should take sessions ones! i wonder how many time floor will stay in the band... 5 years, or less?

For me, Tarja is out of comparison as she is far better than Anette and Floor... Anette came with a totally new vocal style to the band... I liked her very much as well... Floor is more close to Tarja style than Anette but OF COURSE she would never be comparable to Tarja. However, Floor has the best performance on stage out of the three.. She is more of a real sexy metal diva !!
Tarja's voice is the best, but for Nightwish's songs Floor's voice is better. I don't like Anette very much, but I have nothing against her, I think she's an amazing singer, but Floor and Tarja are better. That's just my opinion! I really enjoied when Anette was still singing with Nightwish!

She may not have been as good as Tarja and Floor, but I respect her because she jumped into waters she wasn't used to. She didn't have Floor or Tarja's training or development. For someone who jumped right into it, she did fairly well. I just feel her singing talents might coincide with a different band, as Nightwish's music doesn't quite align. She is a decent singer. I just feel she is out of place in Nightwish. A different band that can match her more would likely work well.
I actually love Anette's voice quite much and I believe her voice is something special and bring a glorious, gorgeous uniqueness to the songs she sings, she's just so different from Tarja, Tarja's voice is more moonlight in the night while Anette's is more sunshine in the bright sky, that it's hard to compare them and I love the both of them for different reasons, it's just that Anette had the misfortune of coming to the band right off the heels of Tarja's very public "departure" that some fans just might never have given a fair chance when it wasn't fair to her and she just didn't deserve it.
The problem with Anette singing a lot of Tarja's old songs is that they were written for Tarja's voice and her voice alone and Anette doesn't have the same voice so of course she will struggle quite a bit to sing the earlier Nightwish songs since Tuomas didn't bother to rewrite the songs to where Anette could sing them in her own capability and it seems if Anette struggled after Dark Passion Play, it could be Tuomas intentionally wrote the songs in such a way to where poor Anette just simply couldn't do them but she tried her best to and I wouldn't be surprised if Floor has struggled with the same exact thing since she joined the band since despite how much genuine talent all three ladies have, Tuomas just simply doesn't care who is singing the songs or why or what kind of voice he needs to adjust the songs for, he just views the singer as a mouth that his songs come out off and about that's it.
Anette does have some genuine talent that I believe didn't always come across with Nightwish thanks to Tuomas' "intervention" but I hope some more people are willing to give her a better chance as a solo artist to where she can prove she has the talent and the chops and she can sing the songs she wants without having to go through someone who forces her to sing outside her range.
Andrea, that comment was asinine! You don't have to be a pop singer to recognize that Anette's voice isn't made for orchestral metal - there's no ill will whatsoever in stating that fact! It's like a pink outfit on a redhead - she could be the most beautiful girl ever but in that colour, everyone would cringe!!

Floor Jansen is big enough woman to be a lead singer of such a band. Jannette wasn't quite so.
I didn't talk only for her Once period :) Generally, her nightwish era for me way way better both vocally and musically :)
