1972 Dodge Truck with a 6V53 GM

brought a little tear to my eyes , drove one of these Dodge's as a subbie for Vaughans Transport for 3 years from Melb to Brissie ,Sydney and Adelaide , didn't help with my hearing . Great sound ,truck rode well for a single drive ,mine had an rto 610 so went rather well ,thanks for the memories Pete

Pete Williams when I drove cabs out Albion Brisbane on Sandgate Road one morning back in 1999 about 5.am I saw an old an old Diamond or Inter that had a 6V53 painted cream and orange for Alltrans it was like going back in time.

Beautiful memories.. had a 79 model. 6.53 .10 spead over drive. Boggie drive. Melbourne. Brisbane.. Sydney. Adalaide .. slept accross the seat.. cooked on side of road. 👍😥. Pulling for Vaughan.s. 💪💪

Diesel to noise converter. These GM 2 strokes sure make a great loud noise but sitting behind one all the time ruins your hearing. My preference is the music and grunt of a 4stroke.

I love Detroits and you're correct in saying that it affects some people's hearing. You can reduce the noise a bit under bonnet using heat wrap and a good exhaust. I liked the sound of that Cat motor in the film 'Duel" in the Peterbilt. I liked the sound of a 903 too.
