I think this is the voltage issue. Remember when iPhone 14 pro devices started getting some display issues and apple fixed it with software update. I believe this could be a key reason. Moreover some Chinese brands may be intentionally doing this to sell their latest phones. And yes, brands have to provide atleast 3 years of display warranty in case the phone costs more than 50k
The best solution is to file a case on the brand in the consumer forum of India. Today, I replaced my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 display for 13k. The whole screen was green I was unable to see anything. I visited the service center today. They said sorry you will have to change the display. I think all customers should file a case against all these brands. Buying 70k mobile and after 2/3 years all these issues come. WTF is going on. People are afraid to file cases against these brands or people don't have time to fight against all these brands.
Yes ..PPL should unite against it .. I have one insta channel with 60k followers.. Saturday I'll visit service centre if they will not give a satisfactory service then will start a camping against this flop brand
There's an anti-repair sentiment in the industry, where the user is strategically discouraged to demand repair with the only option left to discard the device. This is, the new sustainable development model.
You go brother. For the first time, I have seen someone talking about real issues without worrying about their relationship and future revenue possibilities with such big brands. Samsung is famous for pushing OTA updates and setting these lines up and forcing people to upgrade devices.
That's not only a Samsung problem but every manufacturer that uses amoled screen like Tecno, Infinix, Motorola, oppo, vivo, apple, Poco, redmi. Imagine paying that much money for a mid range or flagship just to find out that cheaper phones have long lasting hardware and better screen quality

Btw I live in Andhra Pradesh so I can say that my realme service centre experience was good.
Finally after a long time I watched a video addressing one of the most annoyingly real trend in the tech industry. While most youtubers are making unboxing videos. You are making actually useful videos. ❤ Keep it up Bhai
Two Reasons That I Feel For This Is : 1) Amoled Panels Use PWM Dimming. If That Gets Out Of Control Or Improper Voltage Supply Occurs Then Weak Pixels May Get Burned Or Show A Single Colour (Green Line Or Pink Line) 2) Software Updates & Heating They Are Not Separate With Each Other. Heavy Heat Generation Can Target Certain Weak Pixels Of The Panel. Note : We Saw That Most Of The Green Line Were In The Upper Part Of the Display Because There We Use Widgets And They Are Permanently Placed There Due To Which Pixels Of That Area Becomes Weak Or Old You Can Say.
This is why I prefer LCD displays even though the colors are not as sharp as AMOLED. But is much longer lasting and much stronger. That's why I make sure to everyone first when there is an update and do a lot of searching on the internet and then update.
@I killed that beard guy If this happens to you, it will prove karma is real. 😂 Joke hai bro. Dont get offended. But brands needs to pay attention atleast. You would agree on this.

As a software engineer i can tell , this problem might be originating from kernel level. Kernel in simple words acts as an interface between software and hardware. That software update probably has something which causes issues on kernel level , which might be the cause. If they can send a software patch , the line might go away as it works on grid based system.

You should make a video alerting all users to simply avoid upgrading the new software to be safe.
This display issue is more prolonged in OnePlus phones these days and that is the biggest reason why I am still skeptical about buying the OnePlus 11R already using 7 Pro without any issues but need to change now due to battery health problems and the updates are stopped now.....
As he mentioned in the video, it's not a specific brand's problem but rather display manufacturer QC issue. You can go for any device (not only 11R) but can still find yourself facing this issue... However, I have been using OnePlus devices for the past 4-5 years and haven't come across any display issues on my units.

*A straight full vertical line indicates display hardware failure and it needs to be replaced.* It may occur due to overheating or loosening of display connection or due to a fall. Buggy software updates or faulty led command lines or even buggy applications can cause display failure. *Power supply or faulty voltage don't affect displays* as they're designed for variable supply for multiple brightness points and can trigger on-off mode for complete switching. *Ps:* Half or random incomplete vertical line indicate pixel level failure of the lower most pixel where the line ends. Cheers 🥂

In my case . I have OnePlus 9 and I have faced the green issue 2 times and the screen was replaced free of cost both the times as promised by OnePlus but the fact is - when the green line appeared for the first time after a period of 1 and half years from the purchasing date, my device was still running on Android 11 since I haven't done any software update (I know that brands try to downgrade the overall performance by pushing new software updates to incentivise their customers to upgrade to new devices ).. Maybe software update is not the main factor !!
Very important topic 🙌. I too faced similar problem in one plus 9 r. But no one raises this issue instead they only focus on launch and specs. Not on viewers grievances which is most important as a UA-cam influencer. Well done, Rakesh jee

Great Video! Not only mobile brands but even Amazon Firestick is also doing same kind of things after update their stick stuck on bootloop and it also happened and happening all over the world.... Brands are just doing these things so that people upgrade and buy new products...
It has been noted that Samsung's batch of screen that was supplied to many brands in those years was defected. That is why whichever brand got screens from batch of those years, got the green line issue the most. That is why Eurpoean versions got this issue less than the global varients. Because they appearently got some different batch of screens.
just as 2-3 year software update promise, brands should give 2year Display warranty as standard... After 2nd year they should charge with a discount ...Most people upgrade there phone between 2½ to 3 years... So I guess this will solve the issue 🙂
It's great to see a popular youtuber talking about this issue. I am a Samsung S20+ user, and I have been facing this issue for the last two weeks after software update. There was zero damage, and it immediately appeared while using the phone. Edit: Although after a lot of mails, calls and followups, but still Samsung has repaired my phone and charged me only for the battery. Just hoping for it to not happen again.

I got this green line problem on my Haier 32" LED TV . And it was under warranty period so the company replaced it with a new TV which was a higher model as the previous model was discontinued by that time without any extra cost they even installed it and took the faulty TV along with them . Loved the service of HAIER. ✌️
My father's Samsung Galaxy M30s got same issue without any physical damage after 5-7 days of purchasing, it started getting warm and lines started coming and service center refused to take it under warranty and said there is a pin point damage.

New updates are based on new chips, and new chips require less power (because they are efficient). So I think that's why voltage supply gets irregular to the screen.

Good effort brother. Other main problem is Motherboard issue. I'm a victim here. What really makes me wonder is , Samsung never acknowledged the issue. Majority M series users faced this issue.
thank you very much sir for talking on the topic which is a huge issue but no one is talking about it. I have a moto g52 which is not even one year old but suddenly after 11 months a green line appeared on the screen. Luckily one month was there before the warranty was void. When I asked the service center how much it costed to change the screen without warranty they said it was around 7000 to 8000 rupees... This was a huge shock as i bought the phone for 16000....
My family and I have been using smartphones with LCD/LED screens for over 10 years, never encountered this issue, ever. I've been fortunate enough not to get this but I think it's related to pixel damage. Idk though brands have sabotaged phones in the past, so could be a reason too.
Sir me aapke bohot video dekhta hu. .. Mera kal rat ko green line aya tha...center me. Vivo x60. Bohot dar gya tha.. Lekin aaj subh dekha to apne aap line chla gya bhai... Sach me yar.. Pta nhi kaise hua bhai.. Lekin ma kasam sach me green line chla gya mera
The company is pushing updates so the screen appears damaged. My friend has facing same issue in his Realme X7 Pro. Service center asking 8k for replace the screen. Service center are also accepting that it's happening after updates. It's a scam by companies.
I think AMOLED is Relatively new technology in budget segment needs a through testing and people buying a budget phones use it for atleast 3 years minimum and max 5 years because after that the software for any and all applications is out if the green line problem is real than the company's should stop and focus on stabilization rather than just giving users headache I recently bought a oneplus Nord CE 3 lite I questioned why is there a LCD display on a 20k phone but now it seems like a smart way to use tried and tested parts rather than being on the bleeding edge

Hi! OnePlus user here...just want to share my experience regarding this issue. I've been using my OnePlus 9R since it's launch and never updated my software to Android 12. Android 11 is still my favourite as it has the proper oxygenOS. About 4-5 days ago, I faced this random pink line issue for the first time. At that time I had my phone in hand and instantly restarted the device. This solved my issue completely.
I've recently bought a second hand s10 lite, and after seeing this video, I'm feeling terrified as it can happen with me as well so I'm thinking about not downloading the latest software until it has been a few months and people have reviewed it's features
Panel manufacturers are responsible for this, main reason is internal burning of Pixel near the connecting wires, and this could not be resolved by isolation of problem, Heating of phone could be a potential reason behind this.
Very close to true technical possibility. Software is causing abrupt voltage issues to the power supply of screen and that is causing the re-orientation and burning of light emitting diodes forming the OLEDs. In software updates whenever attempts are made to alter the screen brightness, adding functions such as always on, different theme based dark and non-dark screen features etc. Then this problem might be more frequent. Old phone's hardware is not equipped for software tweaks for 3-4 years and hence they're more prone to this problem. However new phones with inferior OLED display and poor software integration and optimization too can cause such issues as per my opinion.
@@mayukhbagchi Agreed. Amoled displays are inherently fragile. A friend of mine accidentally hit his Samsung on a hard surface on the corner, damaging a pixel. The pixel went black and started spreading to other pixels as well. In few days half the phone's screen went black
Guys have you notice! few days ago Samsung manufactures Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on there 4nm fabrication technology, after that many users complained they had facing heating issue and performance drop. due to that problem Qualcomm shifted the production part to TSMC and after that the heating issue and performance drop problem solved very seamlessly. curently in mazority smart phone brands are using samsung amoled display so in my theory those amoled display are already faulty and these displays are showing greenline on the particular part of the screen which turn out the specific part of transistor are very week.. that's why it shows pixel burning and it doesn't matter how old your displays are, the problem might shows today or year later maybe. (extremely sorry for my bad grammar😅😅)
I own Motorola G52 and I got green line post warranty (just one month after the warranty). My phone never fell down and was never miss handled/abused. Still It got green lines. I took it to the service center and handed over my device to them for 15+ days. Then comes the stage of service deny reasons. They first said that it is out of warranty and it is also having some scratches on the body of the phone. I was like, after using a phone for one year, even with a back cover on (even the back cover was Moto's free back cover), why you guys are expecting a brand new phone body? Even those scratches were not because of miss-handling or dropping. There own cover can cause minute scratches with little powdery dust which accumulates in the cover over time. They were convinced with my argument and accepted to service. But with in couple of days they called me again and said that there are scratches inside the phone! I was stunned! A phone which was never serviced till that moment, if service center says that there are scratches inside the phone and because of that they want to deny the service? What can a customer say? My question to that person was, who the hell handled the phone with such carelessness? Who is that service person who doesn't even know who to carefully repair a phone? After few arrguments they were convienced again and at last they replaced my out of warranty phones screen. Its around 6 months till date and my replaced screen is also started to show green line, from 2 days. I am thinking to switch to a land line.
The voltage control reminds me of poco x3 pro . PMIC ka issue lag raha hai . I remember in my friends LG monitor, they changed the IC board and the line disappeared since it was IPS. In amoled the pixel thickness is less so it's sure there is some PMIC issue to display.( Thickness doesn't imply to pixel density)
Hi I also have the same problem in my OnePlus 9r and when I went in the service centre of the OnePlus they said that the displays were made by Samsung in the year 2018 and 19 are having this problem and they can fix this but there should not be any physical damage to the Device Hope this will help you.‼️

Two Reasons That I Feel For This Is :
1) Amoled Panels Use PWM Dimming. If That Gets Out Of Control Or Improper Voltage Supply Occurs Then Weak Pixels May Get Burned Or Show A Single Colour (Green Line Or Pink Line)
2) Software Updates & Heating They Are Not Separate With Each Other.
Do this thing applies on wallpaper also?

As a software engineer i can tell , this problem might be originating from kernel level. Kernel in simple words acts as an interface between software and hardware. That software update probably has something which causes issues on kernel level , which might be the cause. If they can send a software patch , the line might go away as it works on grid based system.
It seems to be true 👍🏻 (because those phones worked well before their sw updates)
I think custom rom or kernel can resolve problems
Then, factory reset can be a solution as it deletes all the updates isn't it ?

A complete unbiased way of explaining the issue. Excellent stuff Rakesh!!
Very good video, you are always on point, without any hawabazi. I bought a Samsung M34 and was worried why I didnt get upgrade to the Android 14 and one ui 6, but then I heard all the problems that the green line and heating is occuring after the upgrade, so I am glad, I think I will keep the 5.1 ui and android 13. I saw a user's complain that her new S series phone got the line and they refused to fix it. It is really a big problem.
Huge respect for your efforts towards making people realise the problems in tech industry which no one talks about.

Kismat toh hai
I've recently bought a second hand s10 lite, and after seeing this video, I'm feeling terrified as it can happen with me as well so I'm thinking about not downloading the latest software until it has been a few months and people have reviewed it's features
Yes dont update the software as im using s10+ and im too avoiding the updates
Vivo did an amazing job repaired this issue for me without any charges. Not even labour charges.mine was 3 years old Mobile.
I'm not sure but have Moto phones suffered the least with this problem? Maybe the p-oled display is more durable, or Moto updates are more polished?
Your both assumptions were true... But this problem is concerning
@@mayukhbagchi Agreed. Amoled displays are inherently fragile. A friend of mine accidentally hit his Samsung on a hard surface on the corner, damaging a pixel. The pixel went black and started spreading to other pixels as well. In few days half the phone's screen went black

Thank you for treating every brand equally and criticising brands for their drawbacks. And not like other UA-camrs criticising only Xiaomi☠️
