    Great video man and glad you posted it I was literally just trying to plan on doing the exact same thing to mine. I’ve heard a lot of good about the 2k clear, the fogs look like brand new. Also just realized your in VA so that’s cool, I am too

      Yeah for sure, it was a pretty easy process. Just took a few days but I'm really happy with the results. And yeah I recently moved up to the Virginia Beach area. Thanks for watching - Sal

    The beams on my aftermarket headlight housing have terrible beams, I’m going to try this on the oem housings

      Yeah, it should work just as well for the headlight housings too! Thanks for watching! - Sal

    Recently got my 2004 tundra and have never had my fog lights work. Ordered the leds and gonna put them on when they get in. dumb question but where is the turn on for the fog lights?

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  7 місяців тому

      Lol not a dumb question, its not super clearly marked. Its one of the buttons to the left of the steering wheel by your left knee. I'd double check fuses and stuff if the new LEDs don't work either. Thanks for watching!

    Hey man, great video. Just wondering how the 2K clear has held up after 9mos? Looking to do my headlights instead of replacing them assuming you’ve had a good experience with this product. I know it’s great for paint, but I’ve gone through a few headlight restoration kits and I’m still looking for a good solution.

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  11 місяців тому +1

      They have actually been holding up really well. I just recently put up a video giving an update with some video clips of what they look like 9 months later. Bottom line though is that they still look practically brand new and haven't yellowed at all. Thanks for watching!

    Hello Sal, I just did this on my badly oxidized headlight housings. Now I’m wondering do you wet sand or would you wet sand? Looks like orange peel for me.

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  Рік тому +1

      I did not need to wet sand after spraying the clear coat, but you could do that to deal with the orange peel. You would just need to finish up with either a hand or machine polish to get the nice clear finish. Thanks for watching

    • @ShinRobS
      @ShinRobS Рік тому

      @@JDMDriveway that’s what I ended up doing. Some sanding and buff polishing. It helped quite a bit. I should have done light medium heavy. I went medium medium light. But still much better than lemonade yellow headlights on 20 year old lamps.

    Hey dude which bulbs are they from auxbeam?? So many options

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  8 місяців тому

      Yeah I know what you mean, its definitely a bit confusing lol. I went with the Z3 and the correct size for our trucks is the 9006. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

    • @JDMDriveway

      Yeah they're still doing great, and the clear coat is holding up well too. No complaints here!

    I have a 2000 Tundra and for some reason I’m needing a resistor for this set up. I plugged a resistor into my passenger headlight and the fogs work fine but now my passenger headlight is on when my fogs are engaged. I’m getting a new resistor tho so I’ll see if that fixes the problem. Have you noticed excessive heat from your Auxbeams? Mine were scorching for the short amount of time they were on

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  Рік тому

      Dang that's so weird that some people need an extra resistor with the same setup. It's a small minority so I wonder if it has something to do with subtle differences between years or something small like that? My auxbeam bulbs get warm, but never warm enough to raise any flags for me. Hope the resistor fixes the headlight issue though, and thanks for watching - Sal

      They are Goodyear wrangler authority tires in 265/75r16. I made a 10k mile review video here! Thanks for watching - Sal

    I got new fog lights and led bulbs in my 01 tundra and they shine higher than my headlights, do you know if they're adjustable?

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  Рік тому +1

      Yep, they are, you can access the adjustment nut from the back side of the fog light through the wheel well. I think it just takes a 10mm socket? Hope this helps, thanks for watching

    How’s it holding up after a couple months I’ve done the restoration kits and they usually last about 3 months thinking about doing this to mine

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  Рік тому

      It's actually been holding up really well. They still look really clear and have a nice finish too. Similar to the restoration kits, the more prep work you put in, the better they will come out! Thanks for watching - Sal

      @@JDMDrivewaythe fog lights will stay clear for years
      2k is the way to go
      It also has a UV protectant in it which will keep it from fogging up
      Mistake people make is using 2X
      2X is no good
      Won’t last
      And comes out horrible
      Can of 2k spray max is about 25 bucks
      Almost the same price as all the headlight restoration kits
      And the kits will last about a year if you are lucky
      Spraymax clear coat will last for years
      Also if you do get orange peel
      Leave it alone for at least a month
      You want the clear coat to gas out ( completely dry )
      Then you can use 2500 sand paper
      Then 3000 grit
      And lightly polish it out
      Factory Finish for sure.

    Are the H11 and the 9005 fog lights the same?

    • @JDMDriveway
      @JDMDriveway  Рік тому

      Hey Cristian, I'm honestly not too sure. Looking at pictures I think the main difference is just the shape of the base and how it secures to the housing. I used the H11 bulb on my truck, and the Auxbeam website can show you what size you need for your year/vehicle. Hope this helps - Sal

    • @crs1474
      @crs1474 Рік тому

      No, 9005 is completely different from H11. Housing, seal,everything is different. H11 is primarily used as a regular non/highlight position and 9005 is usually used strictly as a highlight bulb.
      In case you’re wondering about 9006 and 9005, the 9006 is used as a fog lamp primarily because it has a coated tip and lower wattage on the halogen versions. LED versions of course don’t have these differences.
