- Today we take a look at how you can upgrade your stream audio with this $300 dollar combo. The combo consists of the Rode AI-1, Rode Podmic and Rode PSA1 (PSA1 +)
The Rode PSA1 is a great boom arm for your mics that really offers great stability and is very high quality. The Rode Podmic is a great dynamic mic that can be used for many different types of content and sounds amazing and then the Rode AI-1 is a tiny audio interface that can be used for streaming, podcasts or even home recording studio since it has the ability to take instrument inputs.

Disclaimer: Rode Connect doesn't natively work with this unit and this unit/combo is more an easy to use plug and play system. Rode Connect supports Rode USB mics and mics that have USB outputs, but you can however still use Rode Connect to split your audio and then just add your mic in OBS via this combo. (I didn't explain this too well in the video and just jumped into the fact that it can work)
Help i have a problem with my rode ai-1 I can't use both my XLR mic and iems plug into the headset audio in the interface at same time I can only use my mic and iems at the same when my iems plug into the headphone audio of the interface direct monitoring on but if it is off it won't work idk why
Hello, first of all, excellent video, now my question is, with the current RODE conect update, can I use it with this AI-1 audio interface and rode podmic combo?
Great vid bud! Nice editing and good info. But you voice is really going up and down...could be caused by the way you setup the mic when doing vids like this? Sounds like the something is cancelling out your voice, so could be some adjustment in a software.

Phantom power over USB. I bet that puts a nice drain on battery operated devices. Nice review. Had no idea this was even a thing. Thanks for shining some light on it for us.
No problem and yeah I am sure it will drain your tablet especially if phantom power is needed, but at $100 this is really an amazing interface and the combo is really great for any content you want to make. It is really a good budget friendly option with great quality.
Could you give me some advice on making the choice between NT1 4th with AI-1 SET and a single NT1 5th since the price of theses two are almost the same. Thank you!
I loved the extra features that Rode added with the NT-1 5th edition and for me new is always better hahaha (not really a thing always). Both of those mics are really great, but you do have the option to use the NT-1 5th gen via usb until you can afford the interface.
I would go for the 5th and then in a few months buy the AI-1, but if you don't want to do that, you will still be happy with buying the 4th gen set.

do I have to worry about noise from the amp if I'm just using the rode AI-1 as an output for audio ? I have a usb mic nt1 5th gen
The noise on these units are really low and you should be fine. That is also a nice mic btw

Does this work with the NT-usb Mini?
You don't need this for the NT-USB mini. This is an interface for xlr mics. So you connect either an XLR mic or an instrument and then this connects to your pc via a usb cable
Hello from Ukraine! Guys, who knows if rode ai-1 would ride dt 770 250 ohm? I know that the volume should be loud enough but what about equality of sound? There's an oppinion that ai-1 will loose some dynamic range...
You should be fine with those since the AI-1 can exceed the max 250 ohm of the headset. In terms of loosing dynamic range I can say anything about that, but Rode makes good quality products that should be able to do what they say they can so I think you will be fine
