- If I just grabbed one of these Oberwerth bags years ago I would have saved so much money buying so many other bags! Live and learn. And yes, they are worth the investment.

You get a first hand appreciation why women go bananas over wanting to get a expensive well crafted hand bag...😀😀😀
Omg you are so right.
Haha. Amazing
Perhaps Oberwerth will soon make bespoke shoes.
Male, photographer entitle to fashion also. I have two Oberwerth, not this model, beautiful German craftsmanship, the only thing I would pick on is the buckle on the strap has a seam like a cheap giveaway bag you get in conference, and it can catch your cloth. And I wish they all come with a hand strap instead of having to buy it separately (expensive too).
Photographers as a group will drop 2k on a lens and carry it to the job site in a burger king bag.
I wonder why so many people drop the money on kit but refuse to spend any money on the little quality of life improvements.
That is a nice bag.
So true. I’ve spent so much on cheaper bags… penny wise and dollar foolish kinda fits.
Just another example of how we think alike. I too have a variation of this same bag. The model is called the Vflex. It is slightly taller and the depth (front to back) is a bit larger so that you can fit your M11 with Fuji flash or Visoflex attached in the bag! In mine I am able to fit my M11, Fuji flash, visoflex, 50 summilux, 35 Summilux, 24 Elmar, 90 Elmarit. 21 color skopar and 50 APO-Lanthar along w/ 2 batteries, charger, cords, iphone, set of microfiber lens cloths and a few other sundrie thing all without any problems. I can even put my 11" iPad pro laying flat on the top with no issue with the bag filled and it does not look overstuffed... The nice thing is it doubles as a bag that fits the SL2 w/24-70 zoom attached no problem with room for several other small items. To look at the bags side by side you can barely notice the extra dimensions but what a difference they make. BTW it also works perfect for a M11 w/3 lens setup and still have room for me to put in my Leica Q2 Mono or Q3.
Since you said you are looking for a strap I thought I'd share a find with you that I think you might appreciate since our tastes and life experiences have been similar. A company called Vi Vante makes an absolutely gorgeous braided Lambskin strap that matches the M11 very well vi-vante.com/vi-vante-lambskin-braided-leather-camera-neck-strap/ . But not only is it beautiful, it is very practical. Besides it being softer than a newborn's tush, the braiding allows it to breathe so it will not cause you to sweat or chafe from friction yet it stays put while moving around. But the best thing is, it has considerable give so it actually works like the OpTech weight relief straps without their drawbacks. It can be worn normal or cross body and it is flexible enough that it can be hand knotted to shorten it for wearing higher around the neck if needed so you can wear multiple cameras. Its so soft and flexible that it can easily be wrapped around the lens to save space in the bag or to wrap around your wrist for extra security to protect against fumble fingers while shooting. I have been searching for a strap like this for nearly 50 years and after I finally found this I was so happy I immediately bought one for every camera I own with one to spare just in case of loss or failure or God forbid they stop making them. Nothing I have ever found even comes close.
Thank you. Def going to take a look at the strap
I have the Boulevard 11/13 for my Hasselblad. Your right they're incredibly made bags and definitely worth it.
They most certainly are.
I have the Harry and Sally. It's a bit bigger and I love it.
I love my Oberwerth bag! I bought it used about 1.5 years ago and it’s awesome! Min is larger and I can fit my IPad in it too!
They are worth it no question.
I was going to get Oberwerth but last minute I decided to go with Billingham... Really love the style and quality of both companies
The Billingham is great, I just wanted a more “dress up” bag for events… turns out I like it for everyday as well.
You might want to check out the Oberwerth Louis M11 Visoflex camera bag. It is deep enough to store an M11 with the VisoFlex EVF and a lens attached (they include padded blocks to support the EVF and lens). There’s additional space for several lenses and/or other kit. I’ve had it simultaneously carry my M11/EVF/Summilux-M 35 FLE plus several lenses (e.g., APO-Telyt-M 135 + Noctilux-M 75 + Elmar-M 24 + WATE-M 16-18-21). Yes, the Noctilux-M 75 is a bit heavy, but the bag got the job done. Alternatively, this bag could easily hold a camera (w/EVF + Lens attached), several M lenses, and a pair of Leica Noctivid binoculars (I just did this today).
It too has an open kangaroo pouch pocket in the front and a zippered pocket in the back. There are also small pockets at the two sides where the straps attach; they’re perfect for pens, etc. This bag is made with supple black leather, looks great, and is very comfortable at my side.
IIRC, it was designed in collaboration with Josh Lehrer at Leica Store Miami. I saw it there and simply couldn’t resist.
I have several other Oberwerth bags and they’re terrific, but this one is my favorite.
Thank you so much. I’m going to go look at it now.
You should put the model name of the bag in the title.
Apparently I should be doing a lot of things differently according to my daughter - but you aren’t wrong. 😂😂
@@kaskoPhoto Or mention the name of the bag in your video. Or mention the name of the bag in the description. Oberwerth makes so many similar bags that it's difficult to figure out which one you are reviewing.
Oberwerth bags are so beautiful.
They are a beautiful bag - women were right - the right bag is essential
@@kaskoPhoto hah! In 2023 it's not the clothes that make the man but the bag!
It still looks like something between a camera bag and a lady’s purse. Small Peak Design or a classic canvas bag looks more appealing.
I love the look for more formal events. It’s a beautiful bag.
Yes thanks for this *sarcasm* While it looks like the perfect Camera Bag for my needs, it's very expensive and I too have a hundred Camera Bags :-) ...I went with the dark brown version...I've been searching for a premium quality bag, rather than those being made from cheap materials for some time. Camera bag manufacturers, why do you insist on using loud velcro or zips?! The poppers here don't need to be even clipped in when you need to shoot quickly (and quietly)...But a thank you for bringing this Camera Bag to my attention.
It’s a keeper - but on a side note… their straps suck. Don’t mean to be so harsh, but the quality is there -but the design is not good at all.
How so? Mine arrived today and it's stylish, but understated, several pouches and sections to store all I want in a pretty small form factor. The strap looks great too, it's wide and comfortable with a good sized shoulder pad.
Thanks for posting. Do you think a Q3, M6 (with 50mm voigtslonder lens), and sf40 flash would fit in the bag?
That would be tight with the SF 40 the cameras would fit.
@@kaskoPhoto Thanks, I was afraid it would be. Looking at the Oberwerth and the Billingham bags.
LOL! Goodbye Wotan, hello Oberwerth!
I still have the Wotan / but wow I love this really expensive bag.
Nice bag, sir! 😃 I have an Oberwerth Heidelberg, which I found pre-owned but like-new on the “evil bay,” a few years ago. The Heidelberg appears notably large, which makes sense, as I believe it was made to hold a DSLR, plus lenses, so, it would probably be larger than you seek, though it is long-discontinued, by now, anyway. I have recently been considering acquiring one of the Oberwerth Hydrophobic series, available in several sizes, which has the leather treated to resist water. Ted Forbes, at his Art Of Photography you-tube channel, just reviewed one of these, and, if I recall correctly, had a discount code. B&H and Leica Store Miami both stock some of the Oberwerth line, too.
Thank you!
honestly they all look like women's bags I use a domke f2 which looks like something the cat dragged after a couple of years
I love this for the black tie / formal attire events.
I always fancied the Oberwerth sling , but I think it's been discontinued
At the moment I tend to use a wotancraft Trooper or the Ryker if I fancy something a bit smarter
Sling is still shown as current on the Oberwerth web site and B&H
I love the WOTANCRAFT bags! I only got the new one for a more upscale look at higher end events. But after using it… love it so much I don’t change between the two anymore.
Wotancraft Ryker is a “high end” (expensive) leather camera bag which I am fortunate to own. I absolutely love it. I have several of their shoulder bags, but the Ryker model is by far, the most premium. I have no doubt that I will “wear out” before this bag does.😂😂😂
@@JeffreyHauser I managed to get mine in excellent condition off eBay for £180 , my only complaint with it is the flap on the inside back pocket tends to catch on my camera when I pull it out ,but I tuck it inside instead
Guys discovering fancy purses 🤌🤭
If that makes better sense to you, sure.
Is this the Q bag or M bag?
This is the M11 bag
