Looking good doesn't just mean looking young. Some celebrities look better as they age, gained wisdom and experience that helps them look their best. Some people and celebrities need time to grow into their looks and actually truly look better as they get older. In this video I have taken your suggestions of celebrities who look better at 40 than in their 20's.

can you do a video talking about orbital decompression? first time i heard about it and it is really interesting
I guess I'm not considered to be part of Lorry's target demographic fanbase... but I am a avid watcher.
I'm in my 70s! Do NOT be afraid of aging! Especially at 30? !
I looked better in my 40s & 50s than at 20. & I am okay with myself entering my 8th decade.
My advice is good health & happiness as the best beauty secrets.
#1 is health. Particularly pay attention to your dental health.
A bright big smile is paramount! Try to keep a consistent weight...
Embrace your unique beauty at every decade- choose happiness!
Love this !! Thank you so much for your amazing comment!!
@@LorryHill oh my gosh..thanks for even reading it! Love your show
Beautiful comment 💫👏❤️
People confuse youth and beauty too much. A beautiful woman is just as beautiful at 80. Aging gracefully IS beautiful, your face shows that you've gone through and conquered life. A beautiful smile (even without teeth!) radiates warmth and light, and that never fades. Same goes with beautiful eyes.
I love this whole thread so uplifting !!
Kate Winslet is also much more stunning in her 40s than in her 20s! She was very pretty in the Titanic era, but time brought out her bone structure and features, and she's very striking and beautiful now.
Definitely and she’s very naturally stunning as she ages.
You are still young when your'e in your 40's! Things begin to change when you get into your 60's!
I mean there's a reason why she is called an English rose.
Yes!!! Kate Winslet and Kate Beckinsale too! Both Kates are aging like a fine wine.
Agree for 💯
Emily Blunt looked SO much better before all the plastic surgery.
Younger Emily was wow! A beauty and a bit like Kate winslet. Now her face looks harder harsher with overly large cheekbones and big lips.
The large cheekbones are so unnecessary. She already had strong cheekbones. I feel like these celebrities are told that big cheeks will hold the skin up and hide sagging, prevent visible aging. But it's so not worth it.
I was thinking this too, I love her, but it looks like she may have made a face lift, but It was not at all needed yet. But hopefully in a few years it settles and looks even better. 🙏
I love young Emily. I had a crush on her in Devil wears Prada
@@lucyjones9678and her chin seems to have been shaved off, altering the balance of her face. I also used to love her hooded, slightly doe eyes, which are now tighter and open. :/
I love that you did a video about this. So many of us fear aging when we really shouldn’t. Younger doesn’t have to mean better.
❤️🥰
@@LorryHill You shouldve included jessica chastain. She's pushing 50 and looks really sexy. she's aged very well
I’m 51 and I look much better now than I did at 20. I’m all natural no plastic surgery, no Botox or fillers.
You look amazing in your profile pic
@@Fortress7 Thank you. 🙂 I’ve been wearing sunscreen every single day since I was 18 years old and stopped laying out in the sun since I was 17.
Like a silver fox.
Queeeeen😊✨🧡💫🥳
Because as we grow older, we tend to ignore the positive toxic shit and backhand compliments (that almost ruin our teens) and start listening to our heart
I am 36 and I definitely look better than what I looked like when I was 20. I don’t have any lasers, botox or fillers. SPF night and day, healthy habits, and skin care routine makes a lot of difference. People usually think I’m 28 💅🏻 (kiss kiss Lorry).
I looked at your photo and you look older that 28.. maybe even 40. So we need to stop desiring a younger look to the point that we’re lying to ourselves that we look younger. It’s okay to look your age.
@@lvizfelipeoh dear, I don’t need glasses. I clearly see your skin and it probably looks better in the photo than in real life. I asked my husband to guess to see if I’m just 1 in 100 and he said 38! I don’t think you look bad at all, this isn’t what this is about. I just see so many people claiming they look younger and it’s really sad to see it. We can look our age and look good.
Why do u put on spf at night
@@LC.1990cause he's paranoid about ageing even though that shit's actually bad for your skin if you're using it too much
@@RationalNon-conformistif people tell him he looks 28, then that's their opinion. Not everyone has to agree with you
I look so much better at 35 than I did 10 years ago. All these women are such an inspiration for aging well
Two comments: Firstly, you are so correct about the bulging eyes thingy, and male actor Jeffery Goldblum is a perfect example of the eyes settling back and looking better as one ages. Secondly, you should have added Lenny Kravits to the men's list. He has always been an exceptionally good-looking guy (a true Rockstar), but as he matured, he got even better looking... to this day at 58 yrs old.
Lenny never seems to age, like Jared Leto.
@@TheBOG3 Yes, those two... there might be some vampirism going on. 🤔 🤣
Lenny exudes sex appeal... He is gorgeous!
@@MrMjolnir009 I'm really starting to believe that, too.
Bianca Lawson is another beauty that looks like a literal vampire! She is stunning and aging in reverse
She’s in my no plastic surgery video !
Beyonce's step sister
Just looked her up, she's just too gorgeous! Absolutely stunning
so scared of aging lory this video just brought me a whole different mindset, we really do get more beautiful with age ❤️
Aging is a privilege, last year my friend (aged 33) passed away in her sleep and I've felt differently about trying to hide my greys
That is incredibly tragic; I’m so sorry.
@@LorryHill thanks 🙏🏾 it was heartbreaking 💔
I didn't start modeling until age 43, and still do. I looked way better in my 40s then in my 20s, and I have had zero plastic surgery to my face. I would have loved to see the comparison of those who have not had facial plastic surgery. Maybe use that list to compare? imho of course.
i'd like to see this too. it's fun to look at celebrities but we cant compare ourselves to them if they have money to spend on expensive procedures or just choose to get them vs idk, a decent skincare routing and diet/exercise of the average person as they age.
Exactly. It's easy to look better when you have access to the highest quality of products, cosmetic surgeries, fillers and you are blured and filtered up. At least when talking about the Kardashians, whenever paparazzi catch them unaware, their skin looks like skin, many times unhealthy. These cannot be compared
When I saw Emily Blunt in Oppenheimer I was hoping some of what was going on was just the FX aging process they did for the movie, but it looks like she’s had some surgery irl. She was a delicate soft beauty before and whatever she did hardened her and aged her quite a bit IMO
I agree, I feel she lost much of her uniqueness
Maybe she just aged?
I don’t think she looks like herself anymore, and it’s not that she’s older.
I believe she had surgery that robbed her of her unique features.
@KateCarew I agree. She no longer has her USP in looks. Doesn't look better at all.
It’s crazy when that happens
When you look at the overall pictures, the newer ones almost have to look better due to not being '80s/early-mid '90s hair and bad makeup. Better hair, eyebrows, makeup, lighting, and filters make such a huge difference.
The whole “women expire at 25” is so funny to me because most women don’t have much confidence or sense of personal style at that age. That and the baby fat that sticks around until about 30... I look so much better now than I did in my early twenties. I have a workout routine, take care of my skin, and most of all I can’t be manipulated anymore!
The last sentence 🙌🥰
@@LorryHill the glow of self-assured confidence speaks louder than any physical feature!✨✨✨
@@kaitlinh1169 for me man expire in 25 30 years old
Not women
The ''women expire at 25'' feels like a predatory way to look at women that some men promotes. They want someone easy to control who can have their babies. Hence looking for women whose identity isn't fully forged yet.
I think this is my favourite of Lorry’s videos. I agree that aging is a privilege but we can look our best and most confident self with experience.
I love this. I used to think women look best in their 30s, now I think it's actually their 40s. And men usually look worse when aging because hardly any man takes good care of himself, especially of his skin. We've been told lies for ages and ages to make young girls fall in love with much older men. And then you outlive him by 40 years as well. The system is rigged girlies!
I agree
yes but all the 40s (females) in this vid had surgery!
I love your comment. This video was so refreshing
I personally believe a man who take care of himself will look better than a woman who take care of herself if both of them do it naturally (because 'youth searching' plastic surgery look feminizing on men). BUT that man is a unicorn so most women can be self assured they will almost always look better than men of their age group.
@@rba4377 I think Lorry explained quite well that surgery is not the only thing making these women look amazing. It's the confidence, styling, growing into your looks, healthy lifestyle, skincare etc. But you're right, more and more women will get plastic surgery nowadays and that's one more factor that will make them look better later on in life.
This was a lovely video idea, Lorry! I’m in my mid-20s, so it was nice to see concrete examples of people who look even better later in life. I also think you could have put yourself on this list! You have been lovely always, but I love your current style and all the work you put into your self-care really shows ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Emily Blunt was so beautiful when she first started acting and now she has that interchangeable face.
I had a much fuller face in my early 20s than now at almost 34. While my younger face was kind of cute and more doll-like, I had a strong bone structure with great cheekbones underneath that started to show in my late 20s. I feel much more chiseled now and this is why younger celebs getting buccal fat removal makes me worry they might not like it 10+ years later when the fat disappears naturally. I am also just much more self-assured now. So different ages have different pros and cons. But it's definitely a lie that women age badly - that's just what insecure men like to tell us to bring us to their low level lol. If anything, more often than not, women are the ones taking greater care of themselves and getting more confident - hence why it is threatening. ;)
we're the same age and i went thru the same thing (was very cute back then but couldnt see it) and i am so so horrified by buccal fat removal because i had a lot of dysphoria about my face due to the baby fat at that time. i feel really bad seeing so many people in their early 20s get BFR.
@@lethaldream50 yeah I'm pretty sure I would have done it if I was in their place but looking back it would have been a mistake. So it gives me a weird feeling too.
Kate Beckinsale should also be on this list! Great video as always Lorry ❤️
NO. Beckinsale's mature good looks are largely dependent on plastic surgery. She doesn't look like an actualized version of her younger self - she looks like a different woman.
@@georgiabrisco2174I know, but she is still a great example of someone who looks significantly better with age.
@@TombCatSurgery or not, she has only gotten better looking the older she gets. Her progression is insane if you look at her now VS her in her early 20s. She went from super average to absolute bombshell.
@@butterflybe2230 I guess I'm in the minority here. I always thought Beckinsale was so very naturally pretty when she was young - without any makeup at all (she had great natural coloring and contrast of her pale skin with her dark natural hair color). She had a fresh, soft, natural beauty in her youth, that made her stand out from all those other Hollywood starlets as it was quite a distinctive and unique look. She inherited that unique look from her father - his grandmother was Burmese.
I have always thought that once she got that Hollywood look, the plastic surgeries and so on, that her looks then became very generic and like a boatload of other starlets.
What a great video! I definitely feel I look better at 46 than I did at 20. I prioritize taking care of myself much more than I did in my youth. But the confidence that comes with age is definitely a factor. I love myself so much more.
Everyone tells me I'm aging backwards. The secret is losing the toxic relationships
Very true !
I definitely think most people look better as they get older- you've had time to get to know yourself and your style, and hopefully feel more confident. That confidence and sense of self is so hot! (I also happen to think that the expression lines that get more prominent with age are really attractive 🥰)
So true!
I think Sarah Silverman is also someone who looks much better as she has gotten older as well 👍
I believe she said so herself while guest staring on a Louie CK show!
Yes. I definitely look better at 40 than 20. Better skin care & diet, more sleep, facial fat loss from age, and I dress better than I did then which also helps.
i would love to see an analysis of karlie kloss! i think she is so striking & gorgeous, but definitely looks a bit different than when she was young
Agreed, would love to see this too. I wish she wouldn’t touch her lips, they’re so unique and lovely, but I understand why she does
@@georgiabrisco2174 agreed! her cupid’s bow is so gorgeous, i hate that she said she’s felt insecure for her lips being thin & that i’ve seen people make fun of them.
TBH, I think it's nice to appreciate beauty wherever we see it, including people who have grown out of the first flush of youth - but this kind of thing also sets unrealistic standards for regular people. Life isn't about having to constantly look better, it's about change. Change isn't better or worse, it just IS. It's different. And that's arguably more important to remeber than the idea that constant beauty work, whether it's skincare or plastic surgery, is something to aspire to. It's neutral, not aspirational.
Even though Lorry did focus on looks in the video, by the comments it seems like most people feel better about their looks *because* of their age and wisdom. It's a positive feedback loop- one isn't separate from the other. As we age we (most of us) gain perspective and maturity, and learn to appreciate what makes us unique. This literally shows in our face- when we feel confident, we look beautiful too. We are more likely to take good care of our skin and style ourselves to compliment our looks, we hold our heads high (which actually helps to define our necks!) and smile. We tell the world how to perceive us- when we feel good, we genuinely do look better.
@@katiehorneshaw995so true. While "objective beauty" is a thing, the way we, as humans, PERCEIVE beauty is what's really interesting.
I was a very timid, shy, awkward, nerdy little girl in my tweens and early teens. And i used to feel like the ugliest girl in school. Literally got zero attention from boys. As i grew into my late teens/ 20s, my personality underwent a transformation. I grew confident, was friendly, approachable, with a sense of humour. I looked pretty much the same as i did before, but the difference! Suddenly, everyone wanted to be my friend, and i was getting admired by guys!
I am 36 now. And i have transformed yet again. I am even more confident than in my 20s and i can truly say i look and feel my best ever yet.
Absolutely loved this video!! I just turned 40 a few months ago but this definitely gives me hope haha. I also love that you touched on things that exude from within that contribute to our beauty! Its so true...things like life experience, wisdom, knowing what we want, courage, ambition, etc all enhance us as we age! 😊
It's money. If they had the money and access they would have looked good back then.
37 here! I'm always admiring the beauty of older women! Thanks for the video!
Yes! Aging is absolutely a privilege! I'm way happier now than when I was in my 20s.
I'm 38 and continue to look better as I age 🤗
I think Oprah looks better now or in Her 40’s than she did when she was 20
Oprah's almost 70.
@@RealityOfItIs exactly. She looks amazing
@@RealityOfItIs several women in this video are in their 50's now- but Lorry is specifically comparing pics of 20's to 40's
I really notice large differences when I look at magazines and tv or movies from 15-20years ago! Actresses and Actors mostly all haven’t had Botox or Fillers yet so you can see a lot of their natural lines that we don’t see now in 2023! The difference is so obvious because in movies & TV now the actors all look way younger now than they did 15-20 years years ago! Since Botox and Filler are much more acceptable now a days than before. Plus it wasn’t as common 20+ years ago like it is now
Agreed. I look way better at 39 then I ever did at 20. Even being rail thin then and now, at the age of 20 the baby fat overwhelmed the proportions on my face and kinda took away from my smile. I look much better now. Someone recently told me I was probably the prom queen at my high-school and it dumbfounded me because I truly had my glow up super late in life. I didn't see that coming. Figured I'd always look wrecked.
Lorry, you look so beautiful! That pink is definitely your color!
Thank you so much 😊
Others who look(ed) better or blossomed after 40 - Tina Turner, Viola Davis, Reese Witherspoon, Gabrielle Union, Kylie Minogue, JLo, Ming Na Wen, Sofia Vergara, Helen Mirren and Seth Rogen!
I look better nearing 40 than I did at 20 even though I have more wrinkles and weight I actually take care of my skin and my body now and I feel more comfortable in my skin ❤
I swear when I was 20 I didn´t take much care of myself but now at 30 I have come to learn to appreciate and love myself, and that shows! I feel and look much better than in my 20(imo) and its just been 10 years! I totally agree is not the plastic surgery but the vibes
Halle Berry for sure
They look good at 40 and 50 because they get plastic surgery among good chefs, good dermatologists, and good drugs. . If they were natural, they would look like the rest of us.
I feel like hair also affected a lot of these folks. Not always, but it could make a big difference in appearance.
Yes! I feel like the biggest change from “ordinary person” to “Hollywood star” often resides in the hair.
Anyone ever hear people say “you don’t want to peak in highschool?”Meanwhile these teens are looking 30 with all the stuff they are doing here in 2023...
Giselle Buncheon said she grew into her looks. Enjoyed the video!
I've always had a very full face and eventually realized, that will help fill in the wrinkles over time! I love being 36 and seeing my face look more balanced with a little less fat 😘 Thank you Lori for always being classy with your commentary❤
Same and I'm 36 as well!
LORRERRRYYYYY U WITH NO MAKEUP IS STUNNNIN GIRRRRL WHAAAT

Hi Lorry, can you do your analysis on Paulina Porizkova. She looks so amazing ,her hair and her skin is just **chef's kiss**... and she gives any young model run for money .
Thank you for this video. I have read before that women look their best at 27. Once i passed that age i wondered if that was it, but beauty and taking care of yourself is ageless.
This is essential I slept on my back for all of 2020-2023 with silk but my neck rings and chest got worse
Definitely I grew into myself my style is still garbage but I started taking better care of my skin and body as I got older and with that came more confidence
I'm almost 48 and would never want to go back... yes, youth is fun, yes, it's also bumpy, and scary, and full of uncertainty. I was recently told I was young.... by an 80+ year old. It's all in perspective. ;-)
I feel like I look way better older. I grew into my face. They key is NOT getting rid of buccal fat and cherish your oily skin!! All I can suggest is to never sleep with makeup on because you WILL develop hyperpigmentation.
Your voice is so nice to hear. Have you ever considered launching a podcast?

Aww thanks so much !! Much love ❤️
Some people may look better at 40 than at 20, especially if they lacked confidence in their youth, but nobody looks better at 50 or 60 than at 20, certainly not without work, but even with work most of the time. There comes a time when we're not just "maturing" but simply "aging", i.e. decaying. Wear and tear. Tissues sag, atrophy and dry out. Let's be real.
When I look at before and afters, I notice that no matter how much work they had done, how much confidence they acquired, how much style they learned to polish, there is still something hard to pinpoint that makes people look better young than old. A softness, a glow, a sparkle, something that just screams "new" which the old person has lost.
Still, our 40s are a powerful age, and this is why people in their 40s can look better than at 20.
I think I 100% look better at 37 than I did at 20. I’m surgery and Botox/filler free. I think I needed to grow into my features some and I’m super diligent about my skincare routine. People still think I’m in my early twenties all the time. Which I don’t hate.
Thank you so much for this video. I am 28 & have anxiety about getting older. My mom looks great in her 50s - she has always taken great care of her skin. She is my icon!
I definitely look better now due to my fashion trail and errors and just being more knowledgeable with time. I'm 40. I know how to take care of my hair and skin. I understand what colors compliment my skin tone and undertone and what clothing accentuates my body type.
I gotta disagree with JLo, she looked gorgeous at 20 too!
Kourtney looked sooo much more beautiful at 20. Emily Blunt was always out of this world beautiful, she is not more beautiful now.
Queen Latifah GLOWS from within. And you’re right- a true trailblazer
I loved hearing Lorry’s laugh in this. Please make more of these!
Thank you ❤️🥰
I definitely look better at 41 than I did at 21. Thank you for this video, aging is scary but we all get to if we’re lucky/take good care of ourselves.
I really love your voice, i swear, if you had an ASMR channel i would totally watch it ❤

The bulging eye thing happened to me. I was teased about it as a kid, now I've grown into it and look way better😊
I really like this concept!
We need more videos like this, that show us the beauty beyond youth
Shakira is fire at 40 and Elisabeth is a goddess!
I already have the sleep and glow pillow and 100% recommend! It is expensive but amazing. I got mine for neck pain/waking up with headaches and it has absolutely helped with that - anti-aging benefits is just a bonus🎉
I think it helps that we know so much more about makeup and skin care. The way i did my makeup in my 20s was no where near how i do it now.
This was a great video! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Loved this video! It is so true that society has made ageing something horrible for women and something good for men!
8:56 yesssss leave politics out of it! Thank you 🙏🏻 LORRY GETS IT
While turning 30 next year still scares me, I do think I look much better ending my 20s than I did beginning them. I found more flattering makeup colors for me, my hormonal acne has cleared up immensely, I've lost weight, etc. Sometimes, youth is overrated. Sometimes, youth is lack of expertise lol.
I just turned 30 and i agree. 30 is the new 20. Hope you have a great year 💕
I think a lot of the time with age comes wisdom and experience about what does and doesn't work for you aesthetically. I can attest to that making all the difference.
We love you Lorry💖💓
I honestly don't think it's possible to objectively view someone who has had plastic surgery. These people all look better after/because of plastic surgery. One cant compartmentalize. Yes, it's mostly the plastic surgery--not gaining confidence with age, etc. Most of the "improvement" we're seeing can be attributed to plastic surgery.
Yes, it's all the beautifying tweakments. Did any of these people not have rhinoplasties? I'm struggling to think of any current celebs who haven't had nose jobs, as a minimum, male or female. 😊xx
I’m 44 and feel more confident in my looks than I did in my 20’s.
This was a really uplifting video
I always enjoy your content, but this is the best video you’ve ever made! I rarely comment on vids but just had to say Bravo 👏🏼 bc I know you are changing your channel which is a huge challenge. Wow thank you so much for your lovely comment; I want you to know how much I appreciate your encouragement. Much love ❤️🥰
That was so much fun seeing your reaction and gushing over how pretty and hot these women look at 40 and beyond 😄🥰
I will look better than ever when I turn 30 next year. But I have worked at my skin, my hair and my teeth. And I believe that the better-at-40-than-at-20-look works (only) if one does not have obvious signs of aging. So you get the mature face, eyes and confidence paired with a general youthfulness. Although most people at 40 still look 40 even if they dont have a single wrinkle or age spot. That paired with more income at 40 (at least in the general population) for beauty treatments, quality clothes, hair, make up etc. gets you the hotter-at-40-look.
Gives me a lot of hope! ❤️
I can’t wait until a quiet place 3 comes out!
Elizabeth Hurley is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She also played in the series "Royals" and was the most beautiful there, more than all the young women.
Nah, Hurley is so overrated. Sure, she's good looking. But in terms of actresses and models, she's nothing THAT special.
I mean compare Hurley to the peak beauty of Brooke Shields in "Endless Love." Shields was always beautiful - as we all know, she was a beautiful child, but in her late teens~20, Shields had the most gorgeous, sculptured, striking beauty, without the aid of plastic surgery.
I agree that not all men look better older.
But I love this video-I have always noticed how some people look better older-myself included
To say they all look better at 40 sets unrealistic expectations for the average person as they all had surgery! Its the older version of girls waiting for puberty to develop kylies body and lips. + Emily skin was amazing in her 20s and she was so beautiful, not she still looks beautiful w her traits but has the more standard hollywood look which gets so boring.
You chose to ignore when I said it wasn’t all about the plastic surgery they had I guess; 🤷♀️
I really didnt hear it. Would love a version of this with people with no plastic surgery@@LorryHill

I loved this video!❤ What a great topic to make a video! I totally agree with you. I'm now 36 (not yet 40 but getting there) and I think that I look better now than my 20's. 😊 I have better self-esteem now and my face has matured.
As a teen I stressed myself out because I was missing stronger, ‘adult’ cheekbones, etc. and felt chubby. The bone structure developed later through natural aging. Now that I’m in my mid twenties I like my looks more than ever before and feel like I’ve grown into myself. At the same time I start to show signs of ageing, which don’t frighten me as much anymore but I feel like it really is a nonsense ideal if you’re never right, where you at: not letting children and teens look like what they are and at the same time expect adults to look like underage people again.
Yay! New Lorry Hill Day!!!
I think one of the first women I thought this about was Sheryl Crow. She was in her 40s twenty years ago and she looked better than she did in her 20s. Now she is 61 and looks even better. It's insane. 🏆
