- Hey everyone! Welcome back to my channel! Today, I'm excited to share some updates on some of my current projects with you all.
First up, I want to show you the progress I've made on my temperature blanket. As you all know, this is a year-long project where I crochet one row each day in a color that corresponds with the daily temperature. It's been so fun to see how the colors are coming together, and I can't wait to share my latest update with you all.
Next, I want to give you a quick update on the BloomScape CAL. I've been having so much fun working on this project, and I'm loving how the blanket is turning out. For those of you who don't know, the BloomScape CAL is a crochet-along where we make a beautiful floral-inspired blanket. I'll be showing you my progress so far and sharing some tips and tricks that have helped me along the way.
Finally, I'm excited to show you a new Stack in the Back! As always, I'll be answering some of your questions and sharing some of my favorite crochet tips and tricks. So grab your hooks and yarn, and let's get crocheting together!

Love your podcast Christa. My favourite from the stack in the back was the ambient shawl with that gorgeous border. I mainly crochet for my family or I crochet and donate to charitable organisations mainly for children because I love amigurumi. I am crocheting a safari blanket for my grandson at the moment. Dad comes from South Africa and they live in the Uk. They came and got married in Australia last year and saw some of the same animals in our safari park in South Australia. My daughter lives in the Uk so it will nice and warm and memorable for him. Take care ❤
Hi Christa leave the tulip blanket just the way it is , it’s so pretty , your temp blanket is lovely but sorry Christa I love the colours of your first one more , and I love everything in this weeks stack especially because of the colours , I love corals and oranges and all those earthy warm colours , great podcast , 🤗hugs Amanda xx💕💖
I love making crochet blankets for babies. I love the colours. It’s so fun
I love to crochet for my mom. She always appreciates everything I make.
I crochet for myself and my mom. She is my biggest fan. She wears the things I make her even if they look a little wonky sometimes, she treats them like they are golden, and it makes me love making her more!! I love everything I make!! Go me!!!😂❤
I’ll start a blanket… for myself, then at sometime, in the middle of the project, I get a feeling to give it to someone. I never know who, but always, someone I know will be going through something, I am like “yes”, this is going to them. It is such a good feeling for me that they enjoy it and gives them comfort.
That's awesome, Laura McKenzie! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
I like to crochet for my youngest son. He asks for the cutest stuff. The last thing I crocheted for him was a purple banana with a top hat, he named him Sid! Isn’t that adorable.
I like to crochet for myself, but I L❤️VE to crochet for my daughter. I made TSY Polkadot blanket. She loved it so much that she's now learning to crochet. She's self taught from your left hand video playlist. She only moved out of home in 2020, so I love that we now have an obsession to share during video chats and visits. It's brought us closer together. All thanks to you xx
I crochet for myself, family and friends. I've sold a few things to friends but I have such a problem charging for items that I really prefer to just gift things.
I have that problem too.
I like the tulip blanket. Tulips are my favorite flower. I crochet for my family the most. But, lately I have been donating them. 🌷
I love to crochet for my oldest Grandson, he is an old soul and appreciates anything handmade.
I crochet for my girls (3) and my grandkids. I’ve made baby blankets for friends of my girls. I don’t sell any of my makes. Some people don’t appreciate handmade items. I love the shawl and your scrap blanket. 💜🙏🏻
Can't wait to learn how to make the rose granny square for the Bloomscape CAL, Christa! Exciting! :)
I mostly crochet for myself as when I’ve done baby blankets I got little or no comments about them using it. So most things I crochet for my self. I really liked the scrap blanket from the stack in the back, but really all of them were awesome. Thanks for sharing your love for crochet.
I think you should create a swatch for your tulip blanket. Use the 6 mm hook and try out your 1 sc, 2 hdc, 1 sc in between and see how it looks. If it's really better, then start over. That's what I do... Which is why I have trouble finishing a large project, lol
I like to crochet for whomever at the moment-usually me & my family but do give gifts to others!
I love the very large and beautiful shawl with lovely border. Also, love the huge blanket at the end, with the many beautiful colors. Would love tutorials for both of those, please. Thank you.
I have always created for my chosen family. I love spoiling them with presents, things requested, and out of the blue surprises.
Sounds fabulous, Mary-Ann Penttila! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
I rarely crochet for myself. I crochet a lot for my family, they seem to really enjoy it. I love making amigurumis for my grandchildren, they love that. Great podcast today. Love the new rose square🌹
I crochet because I love it. Crochet all year long for family and friends for Christmas gifts.
Hi! I wake. Do my chores in a snap while listening to my subscripes. As soon as I hear your laugh, I stop! I know that laugh. I have to sit and watch...🥰... I love your yarnery 💮🌻. (I have a hearty laugh also.) Thank you for sharing your secret yarnery.
Awe! Thank you so much, Michelle Ann! 🌺🌷🌺
I mostly crochet for charity, but did just finish a baby blanket for a coworker.
I have actually made a cowl for myself, and am working on a shawl (which will hopefully be ready to warm me up NEXT winter... 😅😂🤣😂😅).
From stack in the back, I love the ambient shawl and the scrap-tastic blanket.
Have a great day! 🐞
The rose granny square is so gorgeous. My favorite from the stack in the back is the c2c ambient shawl. 😊
I love to crocheting for my family. Especially the nieces and nephews for Christmas. I love that scrap blanket!
Love your spectacular scrapghan! That was my favorite; all that random color looked so joyful.
I crochet mostly for Project Linus, a charity in the US that provides comfort blankets for children in various crises.
I absolutely love making blankets, and am always looking for new stitches and patterns. I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you, Christa!
Hi Christa…I love to crochet period…for myself, family, friends, charity etc. if I can bring joy via my crochet…that’s a win win for me. I just love love love stack in the back. It’s so much fun to see your creations come to life as you twirl and show them. I love the C2C shawl with the gorgeous border!!! Please make a tutorial. I throughly enjoy your videos…you are such an encouragement, motivator, and bring such joy to us during your videos!!! Thank you so much for all that you do. Stay safe and be blessed ❤
Another awesome video -- thank you Christa! I love to crochet baby and toddler blankets and donate them to Project Linus. This is an organization that provides blankets to sick children in hospitals, homes where children are taken when there is abuse in their home, etc. I also love to make things for friends and family. I absolutely love your scraptastic blanket.
That's awesome, Nelly Wiemer! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
I love crocheting for my twin baby granddaughters! They are 18 months old now and I've been making things for them since the minute my daughter told me she was pregnant! They are my loves. ❤️ I also make prayer shawls and lapghans for my Prayer Shawl group at church and hats and baby items to donate. I love your videos! I'm making my own version of your bloomscape cal right now and may start another one very soon!! Thank you Christa for your inspiration!
I LOVE TO CROCHET FOR MY GRANKIDS AND EVERY BABY BORN IN OUR FAMILY AND OF COURSE FOR MYLSELF LOL
That scrap blanket is incredible!! It is huge!! I love to crochet blankets and donate them, or give them to children!! Thank you, you are so inspiring!!!
I crochet for my granddaughter and grandson and my daughter. They are crochet worthy.
That's awesome, Dianne Epps! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
OOOOOh the gingham blanket is out .....Love it. My favourite. xox
So funny I was watching this video and I got a message saying saying I won a pattern lol. Thanks for the heads up ❤
Your dad is so lucky to be in the warm weather with you. Enjoy 😊
I love to make afghans for other people but i love love to make wearables for myself…lol
Sounds fabulous, Valerie Duplisea! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
As far as the question of the week, I love to crochet just to crochet😂 most of my projects have no person in mind when they get started, not even myself. But I love love love crocheting for new moms. Making baby blankets is my jam.
Loved all your stack in the backs but the Luscious Ambiente Shawl was my favorite.
I do crochet for myself but I love making baby blankets for people
I enjoy crochet for everyone. I like making useful items. Ponchos, dishcloths, scrubbies, coasters, cozies, car seat blankets, baby blankets, etc. It was instilled in me from my grandmother, who made a baby blanket for every 1st baby, starting back when yarn was 75 cents a skein brand new the 300+ gram soft skeins! She passed 6 years ago. And towards the end she wasn't able to do much and her last item that she was able create, was when my sister miscarried at 26 weeks and she made a dish cloth size swatch, to be with and go around my niece when she was buried. I feel so close to my gram when I crochet, it's like she's hugging me whenever I do it.
That's awesome, Misti Sweigart! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
This was a fun podcast! Let's see well, I love to crochet for my friends' children and my family. I crochet very little for myself. I did finish my Party Cardi recently though!!! Thank you, Crista I never thought I could make warbles until I found your channel. You are a breath of fresh air and pure sunshine to watch and learn from!
I always plan to crochet for myself but those projects have never materialized.
I crochet gifts for others. 95% are afghans. My biggest “problem” is that I just cannot crochet fast enough. Thx for all of your sharing. It makes my day brighter.
I live in south central Minnesota & we are about to get hit with a blizzard 🌨️ 🥶 today. What a great day to crochet!! 🧶😊
I always crochet for family ,friends and anyone who’s having a baby.
I crochet almost always for myself....or for my babies. I have made and gifted some items to few friends & family...but I only gift or give to people who know what crochet is, and can value the time & effort spent on making the item.
Hi dear Christa great podcast as always, I think my favourite people to crochet for are my grandchildren hoping they will love it and keep it as a something special from me to them after I'm not around anymore. Thankyou for all you do. 💓
Hi, Aussie Sandy!! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
I crochet for the enjoyment
Most of what I crochet goes to the grandchildren, I started with hats, then
Amigurumi and now blankets for them all.
Am totally enjoying the bloomscape cal,
I just like to crochet! I've made throws for all of my family members over the years and my best friends. I work up blankets and throws through out the year because I know someone is going to have a donation drive I can give them too. Each I also make scarves and hats / ear warmers (50) for the Texas Girls and Boys Ranch. I have made myself a few things. Mostly I just love to crochet and give it away in one form or another! I have changed my plans for me temp blanket. I am going to start with the day I was born and run thru the 365 days for a throw for a twin bed. Enjoy your pod casts!
All your crochet projects are beautiful I love them all
I love, love, love Stack in the Back!! I think I like hearing your stories about the yarn, or why you made that pattern, it’s just so interesting!!
I love to crochet for myself, and I love to make things to sell! I’ve been doing craft shows and when people see my Amigurumis (yes, I don’t mind counting and doing single crochet) and they smile, it just warms my heart! I’ll never make the kind of money that I should for the time it takes each item, but I’ve learned to live with that. Just knowing that my little creatures will be loved, is enough.
Thank you for sharing! 💜🧶
Oh I am so glad you enjoyed it, Stitches by Sharon H!! Thank you! 🌷🌺🌷
I keep my projects now. I do make some baby blankets for my son to give as gifts to his friends for their new babies or grand babies.
Love your program for your videos. Entertaining and fun with fabulous crochet!!!
Question of the week. My favorite peeps to crochet for is mt grandkids. I have 18 grands so far from my 8 kids, so they just keep multiplying lol
Most of my crochet is for myself, but for special occasions I do crochet gifts for my loved ones or friends who commission projects. The most fun I have had recently though was crocheting a blanket for my wonderful and sweet kitty whom I adopted in November.
So very glad your dad is visiting! Enjoy your time together.
You have the best c2c tutorials in the world. I made your gingham blanket and a huge scrappy c2c. I crochet for myself, charity, hubby, family. Anyone who needs anything. Loving the stack in the back as always
Awe! Thank you so much, Sylvia Witchee Comrie! 🌺🌷🌺
I love all of your stack in the back projects, bit the ambient one is my favorite! 🥰
Thank you, Suzanne Burns! 🌈🌼🌸
I like to crochet to give away as gifts for everybody. I love these videos. And your tutorials are amazing! Thank you!
Oh thank you so much, D'Aulan Arrasmith! 🌺🌻🌸
My favorite item in the stack in the back is the shoulder shrug. What a fabulous idea, my arms are often what get cold. I’m going to have to make one now! Love it! My favorite people to crochet for are my family and friends (especially my nieces and nephews- they think everything is amazing and that I’m an artist. It’s so cute! I tell them the secret to making great art is to do everything with love! ) 🥰 My cousin has a foundation called Morgan’s Place and is building a chapel and cemetery for babies and I’ve started crocheting little prayer squares that she can give to the parents in remembrance of their babies. 🙏🏼🦋❤️
Oh I am so glad you liked it, Denise White! Thanks!🌻🌺🌼
Awesome idea for a "Stack n the Back" video! I'd watch it for sure!!
I also love crocheting fot myself and I love the last stash buster afghan you have such beautiful items ❤️ thank you for everything you do
I crochet for myself, family, and friends but mostly for me. I love your show, especially the music in between segments. The ruana vest is super cute. I really love the Luscious Ambient Shawl. It is amazing.
I love to make baby clothes and blankets for the Salvation Army to give out to children that need then. I also love to make lacey garments for my daughter.
I love to crochet for my kids and my sister, she loves everything!!
Christa, you asked for our opinion about the tulip blanket, so here is mine. Rip it! When you showed it to us, we could see that you were not happy with it...don't make excuses, lol. Rip it and remake it with a larger hook. The tulips are too bulbous, and the white in-between is sort of dull. This is what an honest friend would tell you. About this week's stack, my favorite is a split between the ginormous shawl and the scraptastic blanket. I want to make that shawl! I have the Ambient yarn that I was going to use for the Tammy sweater, but I might make the shawl instead...don't know...actually, I could make the shawl into a poncho because I have so much Ambient. Love you, and thank you so much for another terrific video.
I love to crochet baby blankets! I have two 20year old granddaughters! Maybe one day they Will have a baby!
I love crocheting for our grandson, myself & charities. Love the rose granny square! I've nearly caught up on the Bloomscape CAL so I'll be ready for that square by the time it comes out! YAY! Have a great weekend, Christa! 🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Thank you, Kerryn Wright! 🌈🌼🌸
Hi, I'm a new friend and am so excited to catch up on the patterns. I've been knitting and crocheting for 50+ years but am always looking for new lovelies! I love to crochet for my grandchildren and my new GREAT Grandson! (First one) and my niece and nephews. My sisters love my things so I always have a wait list! 💜 Stack in the back favorite is the shawl with the gorgeous border!
Hi, Rainey P!! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
My late Mom taught me to crochet when I was about 5, but I never really did anything with it... I learned how to knit when I was pregnant with my son in early 1987.... That was my thing and my mom was the crocheter in the family, she was always doing doily's with the tiny needles & fine yarn... Since I lost her almost 9 years ago I find myself constantly crocheting, I have most of her hooks, I rarely pickup my knitting needles anymore... Now with that said I will get back to your question, lol, I crochet for my family, blankets ( probably have at least 20), hats, sweaters, even slippers when requested... I made & sold some hooded scarfs before christmas last year, now I am working on placemats, coasters & table runners to hopefully sell this fall to make extra santa money for all my grandbabies, I have 8... So happy that I found you and I have been binge watching all of your old video's and podcast... I just love your way of teaching and you are just awesome... Love from North Carolina... ps. I have gallbladder surgery next Tuesday, but hopefully I will be able to catch your podcast... pss... Enjoy your time with your Dad, I lost mine almost 23 years ago... I love your tuts on c2c, I have my mom's that she made back in the early 80's... She made everyone one of their own all in different colors...
Hello Christa, again, I love e everything. The rose square is gorgeous. The color is what I had for my wedding, and I picked it from the moss roses my Dad had growing. I think I love to crochet for myself the most. I love crocheting for the little ones in my life that adorable getting something handmade from Auntie. I reported one of the scammers on my comment. From the stack in the back I love the c2c shawl, the border is gorgeous. I also love your scrap blanket. As I have said before, I love everything you make and love to have a tutorial along with a pattern. Have a great day and week
Hi Christa. Like you I tend to crochet for myself. I used to have a lot of people to make things for but now, not so much. I have made a few small blankets I will give away to charity but that's about it.😔 I do want to say that I keep coming back to your patterns. Bought a pack of ice yarn cakes angura and made the Tammy sweater with it. Turned out really well. It is a 2 weight yarn and used my 5mm hook. Have half a cake left and I am a large woman. Thanks for coming up with this design. Stay safe. Love Tina
I watch to earlier tedian on TV I do not know how to to hit like button on TV Wednesdays are my favorite times I set this time just to watch you either appointment can wait. I learn a lot from you. I really enjoyed the song that Sharla Jack in the back. Thank you for another wonderful podcast
I love everything, but especially your beautiful shawl. The border is delicious.
Oh thank you so much, Viola LaFevers! 🌺🌻🌸
Hi Christa. My favorite project of the stack in the back was that beautiful luscious shawl. The border puts it over the top! I like to make baby blankets. I keep a few on hand, my friends know they can buy a home made gift for a baby shower if they need one.
I love crocheting prayer shawls for my church prayer shawl ministry.
I haven't crochets for anyone yet because I've just started again after not doing it for many years. I bought granny squares books at the time, but found the instructions to complicated for a beginner so I gave up. Last week I discovered your channel and "got hooked" 🙃Have been trying and love your tutorials! Easy to follow 🥰So thank you for all you are doing.
That's awesome, katrien VH! Thank you SO much!! 🌸👍🌺
I love to crochet for my 2 beautiful granddaughters. 🤗
Hi, krislovescrochet!! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
I just love making things and giving them to those that need a pick me up.
That's awesome, Traci Seger! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
Traci, you are a giver, for sure! So generous!
Hi Christa, thank you for showing your back stack. I like your scarf with sleeves. I would make it maybe a bit longer in the back
.
The Long vest was my favorite, l am going 2 make myself one. Lovely, U r lovely
I'd like to crochet for my kitties, husband and my son.... but to be honest I think for myself is the best option at the moment. My brain is my worst enemy and if I do it for myself I'm not going to obsess over others hating it, even though I know they won't. Can't wait to see the new website.
I mostly crochet for myself. However anytime someone we know is having a baby, they get a blanket. I find them to be appreciated more than anything else I've given away.
Sounds fabulous, Sheila Shields! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
I love to crochet for family and friends. I started laughing when you mentioned your kids' treatment of items. I made a 3 stranded blanket long before our daughter was born. When she was 8ish, a couple of strands came loose, and she started to tie them together. The loose ends were from the beginning, middle, and end, so she tied them wherever. It is now a massive yarn heap. Need to frog it and rework into a pet bed.
I’ve started by crocheting for others. Crocheting my first blanket for me and I’ve been so much more motivated 😂😂
That's awesome, Sami Jo! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
I crochet for family and friends, but mainly myself, and what a gorgeous stack in the back, I liked them all, the border on your C2C shawl omgoodness how beautiful is that 😍
Oh I am so glad you liked it, Tina Smith! Thanks!🌻🌺🌼
Basically I love to crochet to anyone ❤but what matters I don’t like crocheting the same pattern again want to try alot of things😂. Also your stack in the back was really good I loved the lap blanket and the scrap blanket
Hi Christa. I crochet for the pregnancy center in my county. I make baby blankets for all the mother's-to-be. I have also given the baby blankets to people in my church. I love to crochet baby blankets. My queue is getting way too long. Thanks for your upbeat podcast. Lurinda
What I crochet is mostly for myself! But, mostly are given away. Community and family
Sounds fabulous, Glenda Humphrey! Thanks! 🌺🌷🌸
I crochet for my family, myself and occasions. Thank you for the chance to win 😍
I crocheted a shawl for a friend once and won't ever do it again. They weren't happy with it. So, i only crochet for my family and myself. I love your C2C shawl. Especially the lettuce border. A tutorial for the border would be awesome. It is stunning and would add a nice touch to anything. I look forward to your podcast every week. Thank u!!
Awe! Thank you so much, Tonya Wilson! 🌺🌷🌺
Tulip blanket ... start over, switch to 6mm and do the change in the white to give it a little dimension ... that's what I would do, you could also start again without frogging that one, make the changes and see which you like better. Love you, and love your podcast!!!
Awe! Thank you so much, Kim Yearyean! Love you more AGREE! lol 🌺🌷🌺
Love the tip of the week. Going to try it for my next creation. Thanks for sharing! Love you videos.
Oh thank you so much, Donna Yarbrough! 🌺🌻🌸
I'd like tutorial on the c2c shawl from you stack... It's huge!!! Exactly what my daughter and I have been wanting. Also what yarn you used and how much. I know you are really great about saying in your videos.... It's hard to find channels that help as much as you and bagoday (Crystal) do!!! THANK YOU!!!
I like to crochet for myself and babies!
Most of the items I crochet I give away to various charities. I love to crochet blankets and shawls.
That's awesome, Nancy Hildebrand! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
Loved the scraptastic blanket and the Rumania shawl , going to make both .
Darn auto correct Ruanna shawl
I love your new temperature blanket, I think you cold use a single crochet and double on your white
I love them all but I love the C2C Shawl.
I am looking forward to making one love the border.
Answer: I love to crochet for me, but someone asks for it so away it goes to a new home.
That's awesome, Louise Atkinson! Thank you!! 🌸👍🌺
i think that's my favorite Stack in the Back!! Must be the colors ... I love all of it!!!! Also, pieces I haven't seen before
Oh thank you so much, Kim Yearyean! 🌺🌻🌸
hiya christa! hello from snowy western colorado! love the tip of the week. great advise to the unhappy crocheter. QOTW: for me nearly always. very few family and friends appreciate the effort put into the item and I have learned that lesson the hard way. terrific stack this week. have you ever thought of doing a book on your delish borders?? xoxo
That's a great idea, Romayne Carlin! 👍 Thanks!! 🌺🌼🌸
Lovely rose, did very similar some time ago,but without granny square. In my opinion this rose is much better for a cushion to go with your gorgeous flowery blanket. I wouldnt do it for a blanket because of 2 reasons: its too big lump to sit on ( if it happens) and it doesnt match the main style of flowers already joined in your blanket. It is just me and my personal opinion. Dont want to hurt anyones feelings, sorry, girls. Happy time crocheting to everyone!
Love your Scrapghan!
I love the roses! (And the color!) So glad I got the notification for this video. So pretty! I don't get a lot of your notifications. So this was a joy.
💜💐💜 Love the purples and teals for the temp blanket! (They are my favorites)
I crochet for myself and for family 🤗Love stack in the back!
Hi, Mary Kleege!! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼
