Hello! That's an awesome amount of onions. Yes! There sure we're some big onions. That amount should last awhile. It was nice meeting your husband. Thanks for sharing.💓
I am always glad when Ryan and I can spend some quality time together no matter what the task may be. Although I have to say harvesting onions was really fun! 😜😊
Wowie! Onions with your Roasted Chicken dinner 🍽 yummy 😋
Mhhh yes! haha you can beat that! 😜
Beautiful, bountiful harvest! Looks like you have enough to last a year and share with friends and family! Your garden has been blessed. 💖💖💖
We are very blessed indeed! My family and friend can always expect an arm full of produce whenever they visit haha. I can’t ever let someone leave empty handed.
Beautiful and 'BOUNTIFUL' harvest guys!
thank you!! We were excited to have such a good harvest this year. Particularly compared to last years haha
Gorgeous Sunflowers 🌻 Cara 💕 and amazing harvest of onions 🧅 I’m so delighted for you both 😁
Thank you so much Jasmine! The sunflowers just remind me of a ray of sunshine! I am so happy to have them in the garden 😊🌻
Such a bountiful harvest! Congratulations guys!!
thank you so much 😊
Look at that onion harvest! Fantastic job my friend! That wheelbarrow was overflowing!
We are really excited to have so many this year! Sure beats last years harvest haha
Wow! Huge harvest! Yes, it’s easy to get distracted with the flowers around the garden 😊
Indeed! Next year I want to plant even more flowers😍😍
You certainly got some whoppers there! A fantastic harvest!
thank you so much 😊 It was fun to finally grow some that were big haha. Last year they were small.
WOW! Great harvest. Have to admit I'm a bit jealous, I can't grow an onion to save my life.
Last year my onions were tiny. I think the raised beds, fertilizer, mulch and buying the starts really helped out this year.
Nice harvest guys !! Wheelbarrow full, let's go !!
Have a great day!!
Cheers J&C 🌱🧅🌱
Thank you so much guys! We are really excited to have a nice supply of them now 😆
Amazing onions! Wow👍 I have never tried to grow onions. Guess I figured it was too cold here to get a good harvest. But I never considered a raised bed. Thank you💚
You might have better luck with a Long day variety onion. They typically do best in colder climates I believe 😊
Beautiful harvest sister thanks for sharing
thank you so much 😊 I am glad you enjoyed it!
I planted my onions as direct seeding in late July, I’m crossing my fingers they grow through the winter and I can harvest next year.
I had a squirrel eat my tomato plants, onions and garlic this year.
I am so sorry that squirrels ate your plants! That is too bad, I am sure the squirrels appreciated the gourmet meal though 😁.
I hope your onions do great for you too! -Cara
Brilliant harvest! So many onions!! Looks like you guys will be set for many months to come
I am hoping they last a long time too! I must say it was pretty fun to harvest them. 😊😊
hugs from pam and john keep it coming on video
Thank you so much for your support 😊😊
Wow great job on the onions this year 👍👍. Excellent team work as always 🥰 thank you for sharing have a fantastic week 🐝 safe
Thank you so much! Ryan and I love any chance we get to spend some quality time together, even if it is something as simple as harvesting onions haha. Hope you have a wonderful week! -Cara
Wonderful onion harvest!! Great sizes! Good for you, I'm glad they produced better this year. Have a blessed week!😊🏵️🌱
Thank you! We are really thankful for all the produce we are able to put up this year! Hope you have a wonderful week as well! -Ryan & Cara
Very nice harvest y'all! Y'all grew some good looking onions!
thank you so much 😊
The onions look great. The varieties are a great choice. Dixondale is a great company to order from too.
Thank you! This was our first time ordering from Dixondale and we were very impressed 👍😊
Wow Cara, this is really an amazing onion harvest. You guys have done an awesome job growing such beautiful, big onions🧅🧅🧅 Lovely to see, thanks for sharing💚
Thank you so much! It was really fun to finally harvest some big ones haha. Last year they were tiny 🙈🙃
Oh wow! Lot's of nice looking onions!
thank you so much 😊 I definitely think the raised beds helped a lot!
Hi Cara and Ryan, That was a very serious onion harvest well done, Take care.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Beautiful harvest. Thanks for sharing. Watching from png.
thank you so much for watching!
Oh my gosh!!! I HAVE ONION ENVY!!!!! Wow! Great harvest! And just a note, I love how you composed the scene with the moon in the background! I'm an artist and I always notice those things!! Great video you two! ♥♥
Aww thank you so much! I am so glad you appreciated that haha. I used to be a professional photographer and while taking videos is a lot different that photography it still left me with a few tricks 😜
I have a friend who has made a rack from a fence, I think you call it a field fence. He takes the onions and feeds the green stalk through the holes and allows the onion to dry upside down so the green stalk is hanging to dry. I hope that made sense. If not I will explain it further. Brilliant and it frees up space.
That sounds like a great idea! Ryan and I were thinking of something similar maybe for next year! 😊
@@bluebirdhomestead Ryan could build a frame table in a jiffy. From what I understand, hanging them upside-down with the stock still attached extends the self life.👍
Gorgeous harvest! You guys rock!!
thank you so much!
Nice big onions! Nice going. I wish my partner was interested in gardening, I do everything! Would make life easier!😁
I am definitely grateful that Ryan loves to help me in the garden! He is always down for any project I throw his way 💚💚💚
Wow absolutely amazing and beautiful. I am so happy for you guys great harvest. 🥰💯❤
A big wheelbarrow full of food is a beautiful isn’t it haha! thank you so much!
Onions are something I really want to try!! Love this!
You definitely should! This was our first year ordering our starts from dixondale farms and I have to say I was impressed 😀👍
Hi Cara and Ryan that is a very very impressive onion harvest some of them were monsters.
Thank you so much Bill and Val! Hope you all are feeling better!
Wow!..those are very big and nice onions!
Thanks! It was a good comparison for us to see how we liked in ground gardening vs raised beds 👍
@@bluebirdhomestead mine are so tiny..lol..I think I put too heavy mulch on top
Great harvest
thank you so much 😊
So many onions! Way to go!
thank you so much 😊
@@bluebirdhomestead You got it!
@@RelaxyTaxi 😊
Well done
thank you 😊
Nice looking onions. I would probably just be ordering one bunch whenever growing season is to plant them. I love harvest time -- it is so much fun. I've never planted onions so this will be a nice thing to do next year. It looks almost as fun as picking potatoes. Thanks for your videos on this topic.
What variety are you thinking about giving a try? They were a lot of fun to harvest, the ones in the raised beds at least were haha. Our potato harvest will be coming soon, that is on our to do list this weekend!
Wow.amazing hsrvest.❤❤❤
I am so grateful for all the abundance for sure!
Wow. I enjoyed watching your video to the end ! I am always available for Support . Stay Connected
thank you so much for your support! 😊
Outstanding
thank you 😊
What an abundance of onions! I harvested just a couple of mine that I know where not quite ready yet and they are still fairy small. I sense some onion soups in your future!
Hey small onions are better than no onions!
Mhh onion soup does sound really good! I might have to make some this week 😜
Whooo hoooo...
NOW THATS some Impressive onions!
I messed up with mine thos year.🤷🏻♀️ Too much competition around them. Most didn't even survive.😟 Next year tho... I have whole new plan. 😉
Oh no! I am sorry to hear that yours didn't survive. The ones in our raised beds certainly did a lot better since we were on top of wedding those more. -Cara
Great Harvest! 🏆
thank you 😊
amazing harvest..
thank you so much 😊
Wow! A few of those Candy onions (is that the variety?) were as big as cantaloupes, Cara! Great job, and they're going to be so delicious! I grow hundreds of Egyptian Walking Onions, using both the greens and the bulbs, but I'm definitely thinking now of planting a bed of large ones. I've done it before semi-successfully, but I'd love to master the onion challenge in my area. ☺️
Thanks! We grew 3 different varieties of onions this year. Candy are the ones with the brown/yellow skin. I also have egyptian walking onions in my garden too! :) I have the link to the place I ordered my candy onions from in the description, I'd recommend them! -Cara
@@bluebirdhomestead Thanks, Cara!
WOW!!! So many onions! That is amazing! You should be really proud of your self for growing so many! I have never tried to grow onions. What did you say the name of the place you bought the starts from was?
Thank you so much Amy! I purchased the onion starts from Dixondale farm. I put the link in the description of the video if you are interested. I ordered Candy, Super Star and the Red Candy Apple varieties. -Cara
Looks like a great harvest! The onions look huge. Mine were on the smaller side this year.
thank you so much 😊 the ones in the in ground space were definitely on the smaller side. I think we will probably do all raised beds next year
Good
thank you for watching 😊
Amazing harvest! I will need to watch your planting video to get tips for next year - my onions are tiny compared to yours!
Raised beds definitely helped a lot! The ones grown in there were undeniably bigger! 😀
Cara, that was such a great harvest!
I am definitely going to have to order from them next year. Glad Ryan was able to help you with that massive harvest of onions 🧅
Hi Bernie! I always love hanging out with Ryan in the garden 💚💚 This was my first year ordering from Dixondale farms. I will be ordering from them again for sure! I was very happy with the results. 😊 Definitely give them a try!
girl those onions are amazing! I am disappointed in mine like you said yours last year didn't do well, well mine were just like that this year.. I will have to try again ;)
Definitely try again! Last year mine did not look like this at all haha 😂
Wow! This is very well done. I am doing raised beds this year about two feet high. I’m tired of the struggle and not getting decent sized onions. I have amended the soil here and it still doesn’t do well. I think the soil just isn’t loose enough. 😢
I just found your channel and I love it. ❤
The two foot high raised beds sound wonderful! That will make taking care of them a lot easier too with not having to bend over as low. We defiantly found that the raised beds produced much nicer onions than our in ground space! I hope your onions do well for you this year and thank you! -Cara
Wow beautiful onions! Those are nice and plump love them! We grew pelleted seeds this year and what a let down :( Not doing that again. Always learning. I want to try that candy version! You should be so proud! Lots of hard work goes into that I know.
Thank you so much! I am sorry your pelleted seed onions didn’t turn out for you. We have eaten a few of the candy variety and the flavor is great! I would definitely recommend it 😊
@@bluebirdhomestead Awesome! I love my onions. We even replanted our onion trays with more pelleted seeds thinking maybe we didn't do it right and we still struggled! We heard from someone at a local farm tried pelleted seeds once and never again. We have onions growing but not nearly what I had hoped lol.
@@keepinitfarmy7298Oh no! I am sorry, that’s a bummer. We tried pelleted carrots seeds for the first time this year. I have never tried any other pelleted seed before though. 🤷♀️
That is a wheelbarrow full! It's quite the difference between the raised bed and in ground onions, isn't it?
Indeed! The ones in the raised beds did so much better than the ones in the in ground space. It was very eye opening for sure!
Those are huge! All of mine were small this year, so bummed.
I am sorry! Mine were really small in the in ground space. I think the roses beds helped a lot this year -Cara
Amazing harvest of onions, have just planted some onion seed in my newest raised bed, 3 different sorts, (Ailsa Craig, Walla Walla and Long Red Florence) fingers crossed 🤞
That is awesome! I have never tried those varieties before! I wish you big onions and a bountiful harvest!
Wow, gigantic 🌰 🌰 🌰 😳😳😳
I was really surprised myself haha
