About a decade ago I worked in a charity shop in the UK. Some entitled woman left her kid in the shop to go get her hair and nails done. The kid was at least 5 or 6 and we had to call the police. The mother heard about it and came back screaming racism, everyone working in the shop were white and she was black. The mad woman was intending to leave her in our care for more than 2 hours!. Glad that we found out that the paternal grandparents were regular customers, but couldn't originally take the kid because they were at the hospital. The Grandfather had to leave his wife alone, at the hospital, to come pick up his grand daughter. The father of the kid contacted a lawyer to divorce that moron as soon as he heard (He was away on business of something). The insane actions of Entitled narcissists rarely surprise me any more.

Sadly there are total monsters in this world who see children as a fashion accessory and will ditch them at the first opportunity if they get in the way of their lifestyle. Before, in the Colonial era of Europe, the rich just hired a Nanny to completely raise their kids and they had little to no contact with them. We are now going beck to that with the increasing number of stories, like the one in this video, about people abandoning their kids to go to parties or on holiday. Sometimes it's the working and middle classes doing it.

That property story strikes a chord with me. I'm very particular with my area and my belongings. My former roommate thought it would be fine if he gave my only mixing bowl to out neighbor because "I never use it.". I was so pissed. I get that it's "just a bowl", but it's just a bowl that does not belong to you. Just because you think someone doesn't use something very often, doesn't give you the right to take/use it.

Just as a PSA, if you're looking at buying a home with an HOA, make sure there is a management company actually running things.
The development I grew up in (ended up buying a house there latter) was run by an HOA like in the story, and the president of the board and her husband were honestly the 2 most miserable old people you'd ever met.
It was their nightly ritual to get in their Mercury and drive around looking for anything, and some of the rules were just nuts.
Trash cans couldn't be out to early, if still out the next morning they'd impound them and fine you, kids playing outside, at the community pool to late, changing a flat (they considered this working on the car) having a flat tire (vehicle was considered abandoned) and on and on.
Once they died however, no one wanted the damn job and they ended up hiring a management company. Over night the fines stopped, used to be a weekly fining board meeting, then nothing. All of the stupid rules were reduced to literally half a page of common sense stuff as well. And the best part is, the special assessments for repairs and what not were lower, since a large management company can negotiate better contracts then some stupid HOA board.
So now the board is basically an oversight comity and just tends to the day to day stuff the management company doesn't, and its really nice now. Grass gets cut every week, things get repaired like they should be, and all that, and other then the notices they're having a meeting we don't even notice they are there.

Maybe true, maybe not. But she didn´t show up till NOON the next day. I ended up calling in to my job and got hired! Needless to say, that was the end of that friendship.

That cruise Karen was something else. I can see a woman taking her kids and running off from the childrens' father, and I could see an entitled mother leaving her children with strangers for an indefinite period of time. I still have a hard time imagining a mother who would take her kids and run, leaving them with strangers for a cruise. I guess some entitled people are REALLY beyond belief.

After my great grandpa died my mom and grandma would go to her house and help her do yard work until she moved into a nursing home before passing away. Something that gets me is that she kidnapped her daughter, then abandons the daughter at a strangers home without warning, and does not expect anything to happen. Prior to the internet, she might possibly have gotten away with it, but how does anyone think that these strangers would not be able to connect the daughter with her family after that.

Some people don't want their kids. They just want to punish their partner by stopping them having them or making things as difficult as possible. Hopefully not an occurrence that's too widespread. Pinching your kids and nicking off is usually a serious offence in any country. Most people would be aware of that unless they're none too clever.

My friend chased after the mom of those kids and the mom said that she made arrangements to go to Japan b/c her husband was deployed there and she wanted to visit him. Then she jumped into the taxi and took off.
She was gone for two weeks! The only reason my friend didn't call the cops was because one of the kids was friends with her daughter.

Second Story: I saw a post on a video from Ailurus where a mother thought it was a good idea to leave her 3 year old all alone while going on vacation for about a week.
Unlike the kid in Story 2, the 3 year old was left at home and died during that time period.

But I am also not all that big so I push my self and do what I can for them. Many can be a bit jerkish and stand offish or flat out rude but I do it still because i try to be a good person. After all my mom and dad taught me never do tit for tat, show you are a bigger and better person. But then there are times like few months ago i was at an appointment and they had restricted seating due to covid i noticed an elderly couple whom had mobility issues i got up from my seat and stood for half an hour for my appointment the couple thanked me alot and i said it was no trouble at all.
