She remembered her saying "when I found my garden, I nurtured it fiercely!" She also remembered how she loved her father and how unhappy her mother made him. She is happy her father at least found his happiness with someone worthy.
Violet may not have known how love starved her father was. And so was Lady Danbury. They would have been a perfect love match if circumstances were different ❤😊
I think she might've known how her mother is overbearing on him too... And she's a mature lady now, so she understood. I thought she would be over dramatic over this, afterall she's a bridgerton ❤️
She knew her mother to be difficult and cry different from her farther, she understood that Lady Danbury didn't have a love match of a marriage and wasn't so fortune as she was. Violet is graceful as always, she is a smart woman.
I haven't seen all of it. I wonder if the sheer amount of time she kept it in a place of significance and pride could have had something to do with it? It seems to be valued, and implies she thought very much of the one who gave it to her. So if violet does tie in the intimacy between them, could knowing it was an emotional connection as well help any?
Lord Ledger sadly didn't have a love match. However, he showed his daughter so much love and kindness that she was able to seek that same affection in Lord Bridgerton ❤

I watched the first three episodes of Queen Charlotte well over a year ago. Stopped there because life was lifing, and I got distracted by other things. Came back to it last night and watched the last three episodes. I believe we see Violet’s father in an earlier scene? But I didn't remember his face. I didn't recognize him. I thought he was just some rando that Lady Danbury had chemistry with. Then the hat scene, and I was like, "SAY WHAT?!?!" 😂 Violet was so classy about it, didn't even acknowledge it openly, but still made sure Lady Danbury knew that _she_ knew, and that she was okay with it. Love their friendship.
I don't think violet took it as well as an understanding modern woman would. But, she can think for herself and probably connected the dots about this and Agatha's remark about how lucky violet is to mourn her husband's death and confession about how much she loathe her husband. If she really did take it well, she wouldn't have fished the story out of agatha by displaying her own paper crown collection.
Well basically violet's mother was alive but by the conversation between lord and lady it was clear that ledger's marriage was same as danbury's marriage as both were with people they don't feel connected to and love making is just a formality and they understand each other and attracted so even while they both know it would be horrible if came out they had sex once but then decided to go their separate ways and remain in their roles in society even when they could be more .
Because at that day and age a gentlemen do not give ladies that they are not related to gifts unless it is books, flowers, and sweets. A handmade craft is intimate and he doesn't make it for just anyone. It's an intimate gesture.

Lady Danbury was just comforting Violet about being a widow, and yet yearning for the company of a man. I think she also was aware that her father and mother all but despised each other. It wasn't a /total/ jump in logic
In this era, not that Bridgerton is historically accurate, (like, a lot!) a married man would never give a handmade gift to a married woman, friend or not.
