Thank you for your comment and your kind words about my painting. Yes, I do varnish my paintings to protect them from any potential damage or fading over time. In fact, I used an aerosol varnish on this particular painting to give it a protective layer. You are correct that walnut ink is water-soluble, so it is important to take precautions to protect the artwork. Varnishing is one way to do that, and I always make sure to use a varnish that is compatible with the materials I use in my artwork. I love this piece so much …you are bringing out my desire to paint again & I thank you for this …I’m just a beginner & get very frustrated but I completed one & I’m happy with it . The second one went into the trash 😢 Not sure if I can keep the canvas by using gesso again & again over paste & gold spray . Can I do this to preserve the canvas??

Hello Ony, thank you for your message ! Yes the are already primed with gesso, but. for quality reason you must put more layers, even after the first layer, the correct way will using sandpaper and make more layer? but for my style, with texture one layer is perfect ! but I recommend to do always !

I am actually attempting to recreate this painting right now At some stages I'm not sure if the paint has dried or example when you're applying the burnt Sienna and then overlay the titanium white near the beginning have you allowed the burnt Sienna to dry before putting on the titanium white? Hello !! thank you for you message ! Yes I always varnish my paintings ! But never when is just ready, I like to wait at least one week, so all colors are stable ! I varnish with aerosol or brush depending of the type of painting, and texture on my canvas.

Again another amazing painting. Are you varnishing your paintings? I ask because walnut ink is water soluble and will reactivate if it gets wet.
Thank you for your comment and your kind words about my painting. Yes, I do varnish my paintings to protect them from any potential damage or fading over time. In fact, I used an aerosol varnish on this particular painting to give it a protective layer. You are correct that walnut ink is water-soluble, so it is important to take precautions to protect the artwork. Varnishing is one way to do that, and I always make sure to use a varnish that is compatible with the materials I use in my artwork. I love this piece so much …you are bringing out my desire to paint again & I thank you for this …I’m just a beginner & get very frustrated but I completed one & I’m happy with it . The second one went into the trash 😢 Not sure if I can keep the canvas by using gesso again & again over paste & gold spray . Can I do this to preserve the canvas??

Hello Ony, thank you for your message ! Yes the are already primed with gesso, but. for quality reason you must put more layers, even after the first layer, the correct way will using sandpaper and make more layer? but for my style, with texture one layer is perfect ! but I recommend to do always !
