I have never heard anything positive about Rene. He screwed so many people over for nothing more than his ego while nearly destroying Janet personally and professionally. He warned to get rid of any person who looked out for Janet’s best interest. Then to have the gall to sue her!? What a soulless shell of a human. I’m so sorry that happened to you and would have loved to see you on The Velvet Rope and beyond. Thank you for the video!

I'm very sorry that happened to you. I have to say that I'm not a bit surprised about Rene. I love that you live in your truth and honesty. It's hard to find many people like you regardless of the profession. Some people just go along to get along for the sake of the job. I can just imagine the mess that goes on behind the scenes and dealing with other people. You are THE MAN!
Rene has always struck me as a real worm.. and time ultimately told us that he was toxic to Janet, as she gave him to boot.
I WAS PULLED ON STAGE THE VELVET ROPE TOUR IN 1998 by Janet ! Man I wish u was a backup singer !!
Ole Rene, figured Janet left his ass for a reason! However, this was an amazing lesson in staying grounded and keeping your integrity especially in the entertainment game.

Whoa...the part about Lil John. Lil John is a legend and did great work with Janet. I believe he did Janet tour, Velvet Rope, All For You, Rockwitchu, and maybe Number Ones. He also came back for State of The World if Im not mistaken.

I enjoyed each part of your story. I love hearing first hand stories from ppl who worked with Janet. It warms my heart that everyone says she was truly amazing, genuine, kind, caring person. I've been a super fan since her Control album. And have been blessed to see her twice on tour in great seats. Thank you for this. I hope one day we all get to see the Janet tour in it's entirety. The Janet album is my all time fave 😍

Since I am a Janet fan and the way UA-cam algorithm is set up your video popped up as a recommendation and I said “I know that name”. I have watched all 3 parts (also subscribed) and enjoyed them all as a Janet fan. Now as a musician wife my emotions were all over the place because I have seen/heard/experience a lot in your industry. Will not get in details to jeopardize my husband career but it was good to hear another musician experience. And as you stated “God is the provider”. 🙂👏🏾
so it took almost 20 years to finally get a straight answer why the janet. tour was never released...

You have blessed me with this video series sir. Your candor, your integrity, and most importantly, your faith drew me in. Being young and in a professional school, there's a lot of sneakiness and mess that goes with the school and with networking and I'm not always sure how to navigate it because, like you, I am an honest person and I believe in being very clear. I have to consider opportunities but you have reminded me through this that God is my source. There is no situation that HE leads me to where my integrity or personality will become compromised when I keep him as my source and guide. You were blessed to be on the absolute BEST of Janet's tours and no manipulation or scheming could take that away from you. I look forward to more of your series and wisdom. God bless!

This is a lesson in standing your ground. Not everyone has the courage to keep to their boundaries in basic respect, too afraid they're gonna lose everything when we have proof of you showing that there's always something better beyond where you are currently. I'm learning! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Loved this tour ya'll played Denver August, 5th 1994. I remember my mom got me tickets for my 13th birthday. After that I was old enough to start working. Lol.
I can’t stand Rene, he put our girl through so much shit. She has such a big heart and I hate how many people used to take advantage of that. The light in her eyes and the silliness we saw disappeared during the Velvet Rope era🙁 The fact that she was so depressed and he just got worse broke my heart for her. The things these men have put her through is so wrong. You could see the difference between the Janet tour era and the Velvet Rope era visibly when it came to her. I wish somebody would spill some tea on Rene during the VR tour cause I heard a couple things about him yet he had some of her fans fooled thinking he was so sweet. I followed you on ig, you seem so cool and down to earth. Respect ✊🏾 Have you talked to her since that tour and did she ever find out that you weren’t approached because of Rene and Rex?

Bro...... what's so funny about the lil john over playing part is.... i completely know what he was talking about! lol i can remember watching multiple clips of the janet tour especially in Australia. he was adding extra drum parts on if that didn't need to really be added. i was watching like hmmm.... this sounds good but its different from Jonathan. One of the many things I have Learned in my life is that God knows what He is doing, Like placing the good ,bad and ugly in a person's life to show you and everyone else what your really made of. and all a bad and the ugly is gone do in the long run be a blessing anyway. We were professional and we were in Australia having a BALL!!! Especially Lil John and me! It’s a wonder we weren’t banned. Lol

Unfortunately I was too young to go to those tours but my first one in 2015 #Unbreakable was Amazing, but I've heard so many things about her earlier tours being Phenomenal. I'm not in the music business but thank you for all the tips of standing your ground and staying true to yourself.. something I live by as well. I subscribed over a week ago to channel. Outside of Janet (my fav obviously lol) tour bts, your experience and knowledge on touring and this industry is amazing to listen to. As someone who has followed and grew up during those times, and noticed certain musicians or dancers work on same or similar artists tours, love this BTS and just The real on industry!!!

Well I learned that I was in the higher percentile of Singers than all these Monster Bass Players in the world! LOL. But God placed me in the Industry without the desire to be a Star! This is why I was able to be great and not bow to temptation, money position nor power. God is The SuperStar!

How do the musicians keep in touch with their families if they’re on the road for a few years
Typically tours went out in what we called “legs” for a few weeks at a time 4 maybe 8 before taking a break for everyone to go home for maybe a week. Lol. Often Musicians would fly loved ones out. The longest I was gone at one time was 3 months overseas. I was missing my sons like CRAZY. I cried like a girl! Lol

I just looked and he is married to Janet’s niece Stacee Brown.
After hearing this, yeah this just make me dislike him even more. There was a video I was watching, think it was the Soul Train music awards. Anyway, it had Luther Whitney, Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwick. Amazing performance I mean Luther and Whitney killed it. They were singing " That's what friends are for" standing ovation everyone clapping but Rene, Janet is clapping smiling and Rene seem as he was bothered by the perfomance. My take on him is from the sounds of who he choose to pick with seems to be black. And it made me question is this man bias towards blacks? Does he have an issue with how talented black people are? Yeah not of fan of him and after the Janet Doc and this yeah it all sums up of how I feel about him. He was very insecure and glade she finally stood up to the coward.
Hmm Do you think this why Omar wasn't on the Velvet Rope tour for similar reasons?

I always thought Renee was Janet's soulmate..... I still think that. He turned out to be an a55hole in the end, which took me by surprise. I heard he was messing around with the choreographer. I noticed when we no longer saw Renee around Janet, we didn't see the choreographer around her either. That's just my putting 2 + 2 together.....then the song " You Ain't Right" solidified it for me.
He definitely was an a55hole. If you're talkin about Tina Landon, I'm pretty positive they weren't messin around. I don't think she liked him either. LOL
