Many shows have tried their best to imitate, copy or rendition Miami Vice to no avail. Vice was one of those TV shows that maybe come around once in a couple decades. They don't make em like this anymore! From 1984 to 1989 this show had the nation by the throat as far as TV viewing was concerned. This show set trends like clothing, music, cars, style, sun glasses, 5 day unshaven faces, this show back then set the bar. I own the box set on DVD and love watching it from time to time. Love Vice!
Such an thought provoking ending, the music is perfect as the scene builds. Its absaloute genius. It does exactly what its supposed to do, grip the audience's mind and focus. I love it, and MV, sorely missed. Great TV.
It was clever choosing "the Order of Death", not only for the atmosphere, but also for the fact both villains died at almost the exact same time. Miami vice was always known for it's crazy endings, and this one takes the cake. This was the very first episode we ever saw....way back in January 1986.
I think Crockett trusted Tubbs more than most of the people Crockett himself knew long before he even knew Tubbs existed. Tubbs was also the only person Crockett listened to whenever he went off script. Tubbs was his breadcrumb trail back to sanity and he knew it. Hence that brotherly trust.
Jackie realizes that the evil is in her and not in the others...sad ending, but one of the best episodes of the 2nd season, I love the final climax of the final scene.
This was probably my favorite Miami Vice episode. I had a big crush on Fiona because of this one! A few years later she surfaced hot as ever in that rock single with Kip Winger. She was a doll back in the day...raspy voice and all.
Such a sad and painful story. In a sense, she came to the same sort of final epiphany and took a similar action as Zhang Ziyi's character did in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon"
@RedDawgQ Actually, it's "the Order of Death" by Public Image Limited from their 1984 album, "This Is What You Want, This is What You Get". I own it on CD. The full version is 4 minutes, 50 seconds long.
This was the very 1st episode of Miama Vice we ever watched, and in 2006, it also became the 1st reruns we watched on Sleuth. Talk about a show known for strange endings, imagine starting by seeing this one! It was so strange how both criminals were taken out at the same time. Hence probably the reason why they decided to use "the Order of Death" as the background song.
Many actors and actresses, today celebrities, appeared in this show. People like Liam Nessom ; Helena Bonham Carter; Melannie Grifith; Vincent D´Onofrio; Lawrence Fishburne;John Turturro; etc. But, the real genius was behind the cameras. The director Michael Mann. He has direct´s many great movies during his carreer, movies like "The Kept" (1983) "Manhunter" (1986, ) with the first Hannibal Lecter ever ( played by Brian Cox); "Heat" (1995), with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro; and "Collateral" (2002), and "Miami Vice" (2009)the movie, with Collin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.
Another Jan Hammer "unreleased-yet-sooo-cool music" :( begins at 0.32 but really builds up at 0:51 Anyone knows the name, or how to get it? Just love it. Aaahhh, those 'cold/warm' futuristic synths from the 80's :):):)
Sex Pistols = John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) flipped it with "Public Image limited" and this tune, classic.. "the Order of Death" just fit this scene, so brilliantly, Intense, captivating, mesmerizing.. One of the few scenes from Miami Vice, that puzzled me back as a young kid (Denmark) and made a lasting impact. I heard the PIL-tune again some years back, I recall it was in the series "Mr. Robot" that also used it and it just made a flashback to this Miami Vice scene. (from s2e16)
love the way he rolls up with the ferrari with this music....i liked miami better in the 80s....abandoned buildings..streets...and spooky at night in some areas

At the top of the line. Saw it at the age of 12 years.1986 or 1987 In East Germany as East German. My favorite episode. Thank you America.
I have been looking for this fantastic episode for almost 30 years

Cat didn’t die and wasn’t really the villain.
Loved Vice. Jan Hammer's scoring for this series was brilliant. But his music in this episode was truly breathtaking
This was definitely one of my favorite episodes. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
Oh that's Fiona! She was so hot back then. She was very good in this episode. Love the song, too. Brings back memories!
what a music , what a ambiance !!!!! absolutly crazy !!!!!!!!
Tubbs was so underrated in MV,he was so cool and was the big part in keeping sonny sane in his bad times.....
Every time I see this, I cannot fault her acting. She's flawless.
Jackie realizes that the evil is in her and not in the others...sad ending, but one of the best episodes of the 2nd season, I love the final climax of the final scene.
I think she realized that her life is simply fucked up with no perspective so that's why she offed herself
This was probably my favorite Miami Vice episode. I had a big crush on Fiona because of this one! A few years later she surfaced hot as ever in that rock single with Kip Winger. She was a doll back in the day...raspy voice and all.
Yes she was
Saw this episode once 30 years ago!!! And here I am searching for it in youtube because didnt forget this ending, and this angel/evil face girl.
This episode took prey on my heart more than 30 years ago. And the ending is still thrilling me. Unusually hard and dark for Miami Vice and 80s TV.
Such a sad and painful story.
In a sense, she came to the same sort of final epiphany and took a similar action as Zhang Ziyi's character did in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon"
Damm I really miss this show this was without anydoubt the best show of the 80,s
First Miami Vice episode I ever saw. And then I was hooked!
This was probably one of my Miami vice favorite episodes of all time. I loved the pilot but I loved this one the best.
shocking ending as well as episode and the music words cannot describe it long live Maimi Vice
yeah, and the track by public image ltd fits perfectly.. such a haunting song
@RedDawgQ Actually, it's "the Order of Death" by Public Image Limited from their 1984 album, "This Is What You Want, This is What You Get". I own it on CD. The full version is 4 minutes, 50 seconds long.
The lack of any kind of denouement - it just ends here. It's fantastic.
I hope this show won awards
One of my fave episodes. Thanks for posting.

this music and LMD totally define this episode and vice versa
When I was young I fell in Love with that lady! She is so sweet!
Early Miami Vice seasons were notorious for knowing when and how to end an episode, with no reassuring epilogue.
Miami vice espetáculo de seriado
Very famous episode of the serie with a young fiona flanaghan.probably one of the my favorite episodes of miami vice
PiL 😀👍
I was an extra in this show. 1987. 22, and having the time of my life in south beach.
ive had this song on my miami vice mix for 10 years
"THE GIRL IS THE RIPPER!!"
Yeah, if Miami Vice debuted today, I think it would be just as successful.
Miami vice foi uma grande serie com características sombrias tipica dos anos 80.
Many actors and actresses, today celebrities, appeared in this show. begins at 0.32 but really builds up at 0:51
Anyone knows the name, or how to get it?
Just love it.
Aaahhh, those 'cold/warm' futuristic synths from the 80's :):):)
I have seen them all. Even the last episode where they quit the force.
god i miss this show! :)
Mammamia episodio uno dei migliori
Good times. I am 26 today. I still remember this show when I was a kid and growing up.
I've tried looking for more information on the girl who plays Jackie in this episode. She went by the name Fiona. She's amazing.
You are right COLDSTAIND1991; they don`t make TV like this today...
What a cutie - and I don´t mean Tubbs!
Little Miss Dangerous was NOWHERE in this clip! :(
She's beautiful
This was one of the more soul-shaking episodes.
The 80's my youth on its best

If only this had the original resolution. And the song, geez!
Sex Pistols = John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) flipped it with "Public Image limited" and this tune, classic..

@byan85 Fiona Fullerton... She was a singer in the 80s
Ferrari Daytona RULES!!
❤️👍
fiona sounds like pat benetar or heart
Same here.
Is that Jean Michel Basquiat's artwork being used in this episode?
Did she kill herself because she finally found someone that truly cared about her? that she didn't have to go on anymore?
Gosh... I mean, why she had to die like that? But, anyway, the end always needs to have something to talk about It, right?
j'aime,
What did she mean by "I understand...I think I've learned"?
Public Image Ltd. - The Order of Death
