You all are over thinking this problem. I simply replaced the gasket. Of course. Then I replaced the muffler with one that doesn't go under the valve cover. ( I took one off an old mower I had.) It is directed down and away from the valve cover. No more heat problems.
Hello sir. I purchased the same kit and cut the bracket just like you showed me. Thanks for the video. I'll never understand how this design got thru research and development. I've had my mower for several years and this has always been part of regular maintenance. So far, so good.
I just changed the gasket on my tractor. Not sure yet if it's going to fix. I didn't know about this kit. there has to be something similar so that one doesn't have to do any cutting. Thanks for the video!
Someone suggested on taryl fixes all video that you should lay cober on flat surfaceof abrasive and remove a small amount of the cover edge similar to doing a cylinder head surface.

Those new parts on a dirty garage floor are setting off my OCD.
Is it still leak free?
Did it work? I just ordered this kit, hopefully this solves the problem. I have a cub cadet, 19hp Kohler.
