    Why does it change the region of both timbres in addition to the octave when I press the octave button in split mode? On the XPS 10 and 30 this doesn't happen because I can't change the octave in real time without changing the region of the instruments?

      These Zen-Core machines are all under-powered. I have MC-707, but I don't try pushing its polyphony, I have no need of that. When I want polyphony, my Juno has me covered.

    Do scene 2 sounds take 2 seconds to load properly after switching from scene 1 without using the sustain pedal?
    - The Fantom-0 takes 2 seconds to rightly/fully load the new scene.
    - The older Roland Juno DS switches instantly.
    What about this one?
    Also, does it have "scene chains" like the Fantom? If not, how many favourite sets can it host?

    • @longandmcquade
      @longandmcquade  4 місяці тому

      Switching is instantenous between scenes, and with the "Scene Remain" function the transition is very smooth. You can save 128 scenes in the user bank. FANTOM-0 needs to have "Scene Remain ON" for the sound to hold over, there is no delay when going from Scene to Scene.

    • @thephoenixchant
      @thephoenixchant 4 місяці тому

      @@longandmcquade There is a 2 seconds delay when loading the next scene. Unless you press HOLD + play a long chord with the left hand, then press NEXT scene WHILE maintaining the left chord but that is not instant. It is misleading. The Juno DS has no loading times, the Fandom-0 has. Unless they fixed it in an update. Which I don't know

    How do you use Favorites? I've tried and it keeps going back to the first piano sound. Also how to I get the volume to display by each layered sound like you have?

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 3 місяці тому

      First bring up what you want to save. Make your current patch or Scene or whatever what you want to save.
      Then press and hold Favorites. Then press and hold a Category button at the same time to assign it to that button, you will get a notification confirming that the Scene or whatever is saved to that button.
      You can do this on any Roland keyboard with a Favorites button.

    been looking for info on this. There doesn't seem to be "patch perform" anymore, which allowed a very intricate keyboard splitting/layering presets. Does the "scene" replace the performance patch? Are they the same thing? Or can you no longer save things like the performance patches on the old DS?

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 4 місяці тому

      "Scene" replaces "Performance", most of the same functionality, but only 8 parts instead of 16, and one of the 8 is drums and cannot be switched. However, Juno-D gets per-part EQ + MFX, which Juno-DS lacks. If this and Roland Cloud integration do not matter to you, then ignore Juno-D.

    • @longandmcquade
      @longandmcquade  4 місяці тому

      The Scene mode allows for all the functions you will require, including layering and splitting of up to 8 sounds. This eliminates the complication of switching between modes and makes it simpler to use, especially during a live performance.

    G R E E T I N G S.....My little question is..
    WHY does Roland keep using JV 1080, JV 2080 XV 3080 Brass sounds in every NEW workstation keyboard they come up with. Zen Core sounds in a new Juno D must NOT include JV 1010 brass sounds. It's quite embarrassing.

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 3 місяці тому +1

      All the Zen-core synths reuse JV1080/XV5080/et al. sounds. Same goes for everything pre-Zen-core of the last 30 years.
      Zen-core is basically the JV1080 and Jupiter-80 engines fused into one, with some neat extras on top. But the sample ROMs are 30 years old. 🤦‍♀️
      You can still get badass sounds out of Zen-Core of all kinds, and beyond what all previous Roland ROMplers could do.
      I just wish the sample ROMs weren't so lo-fi. And it is not like they can't do better, they do stick higher fidelity samples in RD-88 for certain acoustic sounds, especially the main "Concert Grand" patch of that RD. EXP-11 for Integra-7 and FA-06 contains hi-fi synth samples. They probably just need to be pressured into upping their game harder by Korg, Yamaha, Kurzweil, Akai, Arturia, and (eventually) Native Instruments.
