Thanks for all the great videos. I ended up getting the Juno D6 and I love it! It’s simple enough that my 8 year old daughter can enjoy playing around with it, but also a very capable professional instrument.
Wow, the woodwinds are really realistic. Beautifully played. Everything kicked ass! Guitar Center Atlanta had the entire Roland and Yamaha lineups on display today….but with two digital drumsets in the middle of the keyboard department; And a ten year old kid who couldn’t stop drumming for the first twenty minutes… so I left to grab a sandwich, when I got back little Buddy Rich was still there with his doting Dad hovering. At any rate I was able to finally check out most every keyboard on display. I didn’t buy anything but had a lot of fun. Keep up the inspiring jams. That Juno really makes you shine as a player.
Haha! Sounds like you had quite the adventure at Guitar Center Myron! It's always a fun (and sometimes chaotic) experience, isn't it? A ten-year-old drumming prodigy in the middle of the keyboard department? Classic! Fun and games! Glad you got some quality keyboard time in, though! Thanks for the mad props about the Juno! It's full circle with the Juno, 30 years I played an old one!
@@phillc It probably looked very familiar to you, this was reflected in the quality of samples you were able to pull out with fitting styles. It was obvious you connected with that machine, very very well done. Are you in the states or in the UK?
I don't understand why some people hate Roland piano sounds. Yes, they are not the most realistic, not raw, but the sound is perfect for any live or studio mix, without requiring any further processing. I have come to the conclusion that Roland sound designers do not invent sounds from scratch, they apparently listen to the best possible music, analyze what sounds best, and make decisions based on that. I once discovered a NewAge composer who in the early 80's already had what we know today as the rich signature Roland sound, but he had it, of course, in a very expensive studio back in the days when even the JV-1080 did not exist. And that music apparently greatly influenced a whole decade of future Roland sound design! Along with genre-defining synths (like the TB-303 or JP-8000, or the TR-808 and 909 drum machines), what we have in every Roland synth today was often previously invented by the best and most successful musicians of the past. Roland listens to all this, not just inventing weird synths. Their sound design often has strong roots in the best music of the past. That's why some patches have a very distinctive special sound.
@Acrimonious_Snake that's a fascinating perspective on Roland's sound design philosophy! It's like they've got a secret time-traveling keyboard-sound lab, analyzing the future of music and bringing it back to the present. I've always admired Roland's ability to strike a balance between realism and sonic creativity. While their sounds might not always be the most raw or unprocessed, they often have a unique character that can elevate a track. Go Roland! Thanks for sharing this interesting perspective!
The DAW replaced the Roland sounds with the local VST/DAW sound so no. I could not get the actual Roland sounds to play from inside the DAW. Not sure if that is normal behavior or if I should hear the actual Roland sounds. Not sure that capability exists. On the flip side, USB audio is generally the way I would go to solve that problem. I did not try out the integration with the iPhone. I am on a steep learning curve bro! The technology is giving me a big beat down. It's a bit of a struggle TBH.
I think it may be the recording set up. I try to capture the sound directly into the Camera for minimal noise and as close to reality as possible. The piano really is quite good.

You opening a can of worms there my fellow UA-camr, but there’s different philosophies for capturing pianos across manufacturers.

@tonylancer7367 LOL! That would actually be an INTERESTING debate! Thanks for the suggestion.... watch this space ;-)
I just want to know if you were able to use this with a DAW and an iPhone and hear sounds from them.

Many videos of juno D and the Piano sound was very poor but piano sound of this video is perfect. I'm confused
