Bless the Lord! Be faithful to the Word of God, which is eternal. Don't capitulate, or compromise to the ways of the world(the Enemy of our souls), like a major segment of the church, are doing. Stand, AFRICAN bishops! God will not be mocked!
I will pray the Memorare in Thanksgiving for these faithful successors of the Apostles.
Thank you for this. There were a few who hastily gave their approval of this document and it saddened me. Even worse there were those credentialed individuals in the church who said nothing, and still remain silent, leaving us bewildered and alone.
You are right in saying the African church is providing us with a model. It gives me great confidence hearing their reasons, defense, and resistance to the holy father on this issue . When I heard the holy father’s response to the African bishops, it sounded condescending, almost as if to say, “the African nations aren’t nearly as sophisticated as us, so I forgive them their ignorance.”

As a Nigerian that is familiar with the history of the Martyrs of Uganda, the blessing for homosexual couples would represent a treacherous repudiation of the Christian witness of Charles Lwanga and his companions. The resistance is existential and touches the core of Christian witness in Uganda and Africa.

Thank you Dr. Martin, I agree with you 100 percent. The Document doesn't help those who are seriously struggling with same-sex attraction at all and are searching for God's Grace to be faithful to Him. In fact, I would go as far as to say that it is distressing to them, So what's the point of it? When you see Priests like Father James Martin grandstanding while blessing two guys holding hands
I guess he blessed them individually. (Maybe, Maybe not ) with cameras all over the place almost immediately after the document was released and at Christmas time no less. That didn't look like a blessing for individuals who are trying to remain Faithful to the Church's Truth about Human Sexuality And Fr. Martin is one of The Holy Father's advisors. Like what the heck??? This is a very strategic maneuver on the part of the devil. He's not stupid. Everybody knows we can always be blessed by a priest. So why did our Holy Father seem to think this was necessary at this time in this culture?? It's opening a door we won't be able to close very easily You can count on it. Did you see the perversity at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York? It looked like a PRIDE Parade Extravaganza. There was never ambiguity like this from Pope John Paul 11 or Pope Benedict. The African Bishops are my heroes.

The wonderful and amazing thing about The Body of Christ is that whilst the Head controls the actions of the Body, sometimes parts of the body need to send a message to the head that something is wrong that is affecting the whole constitution of the Body itself. We need to learn from the historical mistakes laid out by the pre-messianic People of God. We have a testimony from the Old Testament of Blessings and Curses, and what happens when we wander off message, or leave the path God has laid out, thinking we know better.
I remember the good old days of JP II. Then, theologians and some bishops would be outraged at his encyclicals, but they were outraged because he was NOT promoting heresy. Now we have the reverse.

The Vatican is producing writings right out of the progressive/liberal/Marxist handbooks. The use of semantic gymnastics is a hallmark of these ideologies. The use of words and phrases that are more acceptable and virtue signaling, e.g. pastoral blessings, not liturgical blessings, couples, not unions. It started with abortion being called choice, reproductive rights, women's healthcare. The vatican, like other elite groups must think we're stupid. It may come to pass, that the laity and a small group of cardinals, bishops, priests and reigious who are faithful to the teachings of Jesus as he put forth, will save the Catholic Church even if we are forced underground. "Jesus I Trust in You."

Of the which I foretell you, as I have foretold to you, that they who do such things shall not obtain the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity, 23 Mildness, faith, modesty, continence, chastity. Against which there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's, have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences.
Instructing the ignorant and admonishing the sinner are spiritual works of mercy...
