What a delightful surprise. Holly decorated your garden entry gate so beautifully. She is an amazing designer, and I thank her for the tips of using chicken wire and zip ties. The natural arrangement in the entry is stunning, Holly created a perfect setting for your swans. I wish we could grow magnolias where I live, the leaves are so striking and beautiful in arrangements. Allen, out of curiosity, why is the initial 'S' at the top of your garden gate? Is that a reclaimed piece?
Interesting story about the bonnet on the gate. It is a reclaimed piece I found in Kentucky. There is a blacksmith stamp on it, I have not been able to identify it yet though. Thank you for watching Margie!
What a beautiful idea. To decorate with all the natural things on your property. I have learned so much watching your programs. So much better than having to go into the stores and buy all the things for decorating. And the natural looks and smells so much better. And it is better for the enviornment and the world in general.
What a Christmas treat to watch this video - wow!!! Are there any great reference books that you might recommend to learn about all the different conifers for one’s region/zone? I guess I wondered what is a good alternative for Carolina Sapphire in Wisconsin? I would like to diversify the conifers on our property and plant varieties that I can harvest for decorating too. I need to educate myself...Merry Christmas, Allen and Moss Mt Farms - Holly too!
“An addiction and a passion”. I love this woman. Just spectacular. I’m heading out back for cedar branches. I love them in big white ironstone pitchers full of water. Thank you, Allen!! The inspirations just keep coming! ☺️☺️👍👊. The chicken Parthenon!! 🥰
What a beautiful sight to see P Allen Smith's home and property! I absolutely love what you have had done Allen in your home this year! I have been following you for many many years. I have been concerned that you dropped out of sight for awhile. Hope you are well and doing great. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous New Year!🎄🤶🎅🎄
Absolutely stunning design work! Love that she decorated the statues - most people miss this opportunity to add color to their winter garden. Your estate is over-the-top gorgeous, no matter what season it is. Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays!
You said it best. Wow! How lucky you are to have a friend like Holly. It is really rewarding harvesting greens from the gardens to decorate. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas.
Holly is truly talented and yet so humble to share some of her decorating tips. The garden gate and hallway entrances are definitely WOW features.Thankfully you have most of the greenery, pinecones, berries and flowers in your garden. Thanks Allen for sharing all your Christmas decor Ideas and here is wishing you and your loved ones MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Wow she gets it! For some reason as time goes by I find myself leaning towards the more "natural look" for Christmas and it doesn't get better than finding resources from your own backyard, love it!😍 Marry Christmas Allen & Everyone❤
So beautiful Allen. What a gift to have so much beauty surrounding you. Holly is truly gifted and a big thanks to her for explaining how she did all of her designs so if you wanted to create something similar you can. Loved the chandelier and the Swan armature. Will be planting some other shrubs with berries to help feed my friends. Thanks for sharing that info.
If I could give you 2 thumbs up I would . I love the natural look and i try to use fresh greens when ever possible in my own home. You and Holly are both talented. Holly pleas visit again. Merry Christmas

she is a fantastic decorator with all the evergreens. Makes me wish I could see it in person. going to attempt to find a Brankens Magnolia to plant just north of you in southwest Missouri. Love all your shows and books.
pyracantha contains trace amounts of hydrogen cyanide which may act as a mild neurotoxin in some birds if consumed in very large amounts. I live in the UK and I plant pyracantha all the time for a natural supply of berries for the birds in winter. I have however stopped putting nandina in my Christmas pots!
willothewispl we built them with tons of reclaimed items. Inspired from the observatory structure in the vegetable garden at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.
sorry that wreath was ugly ..should not be first thing for folks to see, BUT love the idea of cutting the berries off, to protect the birds BUT remember to put out some feeders !! we are cutting down too much forest , and evicting them from their naturam home

Merry Christmas 🎄
foam is the way to go, if your designing early it won't last in the wire!
I follow Holly on Instagram and she is talented florist,! Beautiful property!
Do you use Wilt Stop or something similar to keep the fresh cut plants from drying out too quickly?
K March for many of the greenery like the cedar and pine, yes.
So informative! Thx Allen, I did not know nandina would poison songbirds! What about pyracantha?
pyracantha contains trace amounts of hydrogen cyanide which may act as a mild neurotoxin in some birds if consumed in very large amounts. I live in the UK and I plant pyracantha all the time for a natural supply of berries for the birds in winter. I have however stopped putting nandina in my Christmas pots!
I was of the understanding that God gives His birds sense what to eat.
Allen may I ask, was the octagon already on your property or did you build it there.
willothewispl we built them with tons of reclaimed items. Inspired from the observatory structure in the vegetable garden at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.
The Supercal Petunias...what is your experience with them?
Ruby Arias love them! Plant them everywhere. Link in the description.
How early can you use real greens for Christmas

sorry that wreath was ugly ..should not be first thing for folks to see, BUT love the idea of cutting the berries off, to protect the birds BUT remember to put out some feeders !! we are cutting down too much forest , and evicting them from their naturam home
Liked the video but came with ridiculous amount of commercials
I think that wreath is ugly. See Garden Answer for much better flower arrangements, wreaths, and garland.
Hmmm... the Academy seemed to like it when they handed us an Emmy for this show last month. JS 🤷🏻♂️
