Excellent. Just the kind of lyrics Ray writes himself. Light-hearted vaudevillean style like "Have a Cuppa Tea" complete with self-mocking story and obviously reverential admiration. Totally British blend of humour and respect. A perfect tribute. Well done.
This is absolutely adorable! You have DEFINITELY got a Ray Davies influence! I met him when I was 18 (1985)...he was the most amazing gentleman. He escorted me into an after-party; I was slightly toasted & tired. He made sure I was okay. I will never forget his kindness and the incredible show that night.
Thank you Annie, we had a laugh making it. Strangely, Ray was filming a TV interview in the next street as we made it, he drove past at one point and looked over, don't suppose he realised we were making a video about him though.
Great job. It makes a change to hear original songs on youtube. There are too many covers which do not add anything new to a song. This is great .Well done and good luck with the album.
bless you Peter - I have a new EP called DOLLY SAID NO TO ELVIS coming out on February 2nd - we have nearly completed a great video which I will post in a couple of weeks smarturl.it/MarkNevinDSNTE

I bet Ray would love this I hope he’s seen it

Lol. Too funny.

Really enjoyed this...lovely tribute to the great man!
Excellent song, great lyrics- and the whole album is fantastic. I'm going to totally spook you by writing "I Know Where Mark Nevin Lives"!

@@MarkNevinMusic Amazing coincidence. You should have asked him to be a stand in ...for himself!
Fantastico
Ray Davies - what a talent, but let's not get distracted from what a creative genius Mark Nevin is!
Saw Mark perform this at the 'Songs In The Key Of London' gig at Greenwich last night. Brilliant.
Great! Heard this on BBC Radio 2 in the wee small hours on the Alex Lester Show this morning.
