I watched another UA-camr do this and didn’t learn a thing but your video taught me so much as it is very informative! I can’t wait to make my first marbled vessel!
I am from south Africa. And thank you I just started watching your channel. Hope to learn more and maybe share experiences. I am novice for now. Blessed days
Thank you so much for this video, i was feeling so bad because I don’t have the machine and i saw this and im feeling so much better. Thank you so much! They came out so beautiful 😊
I am so glad that I came across your video. I have watched several of them today, so informative and thank you for mentioning Canadian Silicone Molds, I live in Ontario and I will definitely check out their website. Keep creating!!
Hi, I follow the channel and I love your videos. I made some vases and I don't have a vibrating machine, just hitting the mold it leaves no bubbles on the surface and inside but there are some at the bottom, so my doubt would be if the vibrating machine can eliminate these bubbles.
Thanks for watching, Gabrielle! The vibrating machine definitely is not necessary. For me, it just speeds up the amount of time I spend tapping and bouncing. Even when using the vibrating machine, I can still get some bubbles here and there.
Hi there. I don't think you remembered to like the storage containers below. I've been trying to find them on Amazon, but haven't been successful. I looked first on your Amazon storefront and didn't see them there, so then I tried searching Amazon. Would you mind sharing the link? I've been trying for a while to find some like this that are horizontal instead of the really tall vertial cones, but the only ones shaped like these I've ever found are the really big ones for dog food.
Thank you for watching! I typically wait 3-5 days before sealing, and then another 24 hours before pouring wax. You want to make sure the concrete is fully dried out every step of the way
Ok, thanks for getting back to me with that. Do you ever put anything in your cement to strengthen the cement. I live in the Canary Islands with limited rapid set cement options. I wish I could get cenent all!! I'm struggling to make my vessels strong before and after wax. Any advice at all?? Thanks again for sharing all these amazing videos!!!!!!!
@@hannahkaufman2998 ahh I wish I could be of more help in regards to that matter, but I'm not sure. I only have used cement-all and am unfamiliar with anything else really.
I just discovered your channel. Very nice jars! I’m just getting started making these & I’ve poured 4 so far. I’m curious why you use distilled water? I just used my tap water. I hate having to go to the store to buy water ☹️ What’s the benefit?
Hi Michele, I live in CA and we have very hard water here. I just as getting water spots on my jars when using regular tap. That’s why i switched to distilled and I haven’t experienced the spots again.
You can’t just use plain cement. You need to add more to the cement to make it work for this. I use cement-all, which is cement premixed with find sand.
Thank you! Lately I’ve been waiting around 5 days. The concrete needs to completely dry out before you seal it, otherwise moisture can get trapped inside.
Love your videos! They're always so helpful! Quick question- is there a way to remove wax that drips on the outside of the cement vessel? I feel like I've ruined so many with little wax stains
Thanks so much for watching! If you don't seal the outside like me, then no it will stain. If you do seal the outside, it should be able to wipe off. I pour very carefully and won't move to the next vessel until the last drip has dropped or I wipe off the spout on the pitcher.
I do just a quick swipe on the bottoms with a sanding block after unmolding. I try to be very carfeful with pouring not to spill over the top. If you overfill, sometimes even after sanding it still leaves some sharp spots.
Hello thanks for the great video. I was wondering, I saw another person who soaked their concrete vessels in water for 24 hours after they made them. I was wondering what is the purpose for that & is it absolutely necessary
Hi there! Thanks for watching :). I don’t water bathe, and don’t find it necessary. I know some people do like to do it, so I think it’s just preference. For the product I use (cement-all), it’s not necessary. The only scenario I would consider doing it is to make planter pots. Water bathing will leech out the lime in the concrete, which can affect soil in plants.
@@calafiacandleco good morning, thanks for the expedient response. And thanks for all that info, I really appreciate it. I also use cement all. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! The wick size is definitely going to depend most on what wax you're using. I use coconut wax and find CDN series works best for me. The sizes vary depending on the fragrance oil.
Question: I really love using acrylic paint but every time I do, I get pockets of paint in the finished product and the look is uneven. I really want a shimmer. How do I prevent that?
It is just so cool. Than you for the video, you do amazing work! May I ask you… You mentioned you wait until the molds are not warm. Are you editing hot destiny water or why they should be warm? Sorry, maybe it is just stupid question but I just didn’t get it. I tried something from cement and I had to wait all day before I could take them out. Am I doing something wrong? 🤔 😁
No stupid questions here! The chemical reaction between the concrete and water causes the mixture to get hot. Depending on what concrete you use, the waiting time will differ.
Hey! I make cement vessels and was wondering what do you do with vessels that you’ve made that will never be used? I have a bunch from when I first was learning how to make cement vessels and I made them into candles now I’ve changed everything from wick, how I color them, and my brand in general.
If they’re already made into candles, there’s not too much you can do. You could remove the wax and wick I suppose, but I would probably just use those vessels for testing purposes and not for sale.
Hi, I made a few concrete vessel candles with the same concrete and sealer that you use and the concrete looks burnt around the edges of the wax. Do you think I need more sealer or something else? Thanks.

I did some trial and error for a bit. I did notice a difference between tap and distilled. I prefer distilled. I was getting some weird marks with tap water.

🤗 One more question. :) Do you clean molds before you fill them again? Or you let there the “dust”? Thank you for your answer 🌼
I personally don't clean after each use. The only time I will clean them is if I'm using a really intense pigment that stains the mold.
