I’m 72 years old. Thank you for taking me to Kilimanjaro on my treadmill. Ioved the video but most of all your respect for nature and the porters. You are a good person. You inspired me!!!
I was born in Kilimanjaro region that allowed me to see Kilimanjaro mountain every morning. Thanks for visiting Tanzania and climb this unforgettable mountain. I wish you could visit more Tanzania attractions. 🙏🙏🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿
I’ve been obsessed with watching these videos of Mount Kilimanjaro and think I’ve watched them all, this one is by far the best one out there. He goes into detail about the place, culture ...he respects the land and the people there...he respects and appreciates the work the porters do ...and u can just tell he appreciates being there 👌👌🙌🙌🙌 love from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴
I am from Kilimanjaro and I am so happy to see you guys climbing mount Kilimanjaro.I love when you tried speaking some swahili.I loooove my country,I love my region Kilimanjaro and I mostly love my people. Karibu tena.
I climbed it in 2010 I noticed some porters were wearing trainers with the toes cut off and had very little cold weather gear. But they were amazing men. At the end they did a song and dance for us. It reduced me to tears. I gave them all my climbing clothing and boots. It was so life changing and a beautiful place. Great vid brought back some memories.
@r laze I don’t know of many deaths on the mountain, but I could be wrong. I think the low summit rate is just that people run out of supplies on the way up, or just get exhausted of the climbing.
Am Tanzanian and I have climbed Kilimanjaro three times but I have summited only twice. It was an exceptional experience. I hope to take my children up there one day as my father went with me my first time. You guys vagabrothers did a wonderful job with this video. Congratulations and Karibu tena TANZANIA.
Kilimanjaro has been on my bucket list for years and years. I really must stop thinking about it and do it. Thanks for a great video. I can't wait for the rest.
Oh I miss home now! This is one of the best videos I have seen so far. Thanks for showing our natural wonder to the rest of the world. From Tanzania to the World. Asante sana, kaka! Kila la kheri na karibu tena Tanzania 🇹🇿
Love this video! I climbed Kili on the Macheme route back in November of 2015. A couple things I'd like to add to your tips: -Kili can be climbed in the rainy season. Yes, it's wet but if you love the rain you'll be right at home. The rain invigorates you. You're not hot or sweaty. Best of all there's no crowds in the rainy season. You'll literally have the whole mountain to yourself! -Book with a company that belongs to the Kilimanjaro Porters Association. This way you'll know the porters are well paid and well treated. -Bring a treat along for the hike. Something you're into and will enjoy. The two other trekkers with me brought hot chocolate and energy bars. I brought hot sauce with me. Being up in high altitude makes eating difficult. The hot sauce ensured I ate well and kept my calorie intake up. -Kili gets cold at night. Bring a water bottle and ask the camp cook to fill it with hot water. I kept the water bottle under my sleeping bag like a teddy bear. It helped keep me warm at night. -Walking poles make a huge difference!
Alex ... Such a beautiful journey and video. Your entire demeanor is on a heightened spiritual level. This experience is very different than any other I have ever seen you encounter. Beautiful reverence for the mountain and the trek. Can't wait to see you reach the summit!
I love you Alex! ...i mean all those words you said of guides and potters have touched my soul! i just hopr other climbers would do the same regarding guides and potters! God bless you @Alex!!
Ha???? Millions upon millions of people lived there through out history. How dumb you have to be to think that they never climbed it 💀💀 please, humble yourself you sound dumb.
I live at the slope of mount Kilimanjaro, our ancestors has climbed it before that European,a European was try to climb it without a guide but was difficult on that time, but next year he come to do again,he take a guide from my village and made it to the top,are you there? Just visit my page! www.onewayadventures-tz.com
He clearly said "The first WESTERNER to climb." That in no way suggests the local inhabitants did not make the climb also. Don't be so anxious to distort people's statements into meaning something they didn't say.
My god guys, closing in on that 1 million mark. So deserved. Wish I could meet you guys some day, you've been so inspirational to my girlfriend and I. We've recreated three of your adventures; Amsterdam & Rotterdam, London, and next week Ireland:) we love visiting the places you've been; from the biggest excursions to small-town restaurants - we have never been disappointed.
February 1, 2017 - that was the day I hit the summit of Kilimanjaro. I traveled solo and had a great time Thank you for bringing all those memories back to me.
love the ant standing up who seemed like he was directing his troop... I was camping in Africa for over 6 months back 1997 - mama africa! great vid man! ;)
Your Video is super cool! This is one of the best, definitely the best video of Kilimanjaro i have seen. I was born at the foothills of this mountain, my dream is to climb this massive mountain someday. You video inspires me to do so very soon. And hey you also have a great attitude of explaining things. Love all the way from Tanzania.
Exceptionally professional video. Awesome footage, very captivating narration. Just top quality. Good fact telling and great advice too. I am impressed with you guys. You are awesome!
Hey Alex, thank you for this amazing video. I can't wait to see Part II. This is awesome. I really enjoy watching the videos of you and your brother and also Carrie 😚. Thank you for exploring so much and show us so much from places we haven't been so far. Wish you all the best and have a nice day. Oh and I of course send this video to my brother and father who are talking about climbing mt. Kilimanjaro for years. Both are passinate climber in the bavarian alps here in Germany. My dad also did a apl crossing from Germany to Italy last year with my sister. ❤🌍
How many days will it take to climb up & down ? Do we need to get any training in mountain climbing prior to the climbing ? How much it costs, to hire all these porters and all ?
Alex, your cinematography and production is A+. Superb footage! Where’s Marco and Carrie?! Miss them both! (Don’t follow other socials so I may be out of the loop)
Vagabrothers will always be my favorite UA-cam channel. Well done on this video, Alex! It's incredibly inspiring, beautifully shot and makes me excited to embark on this trek in the future! :)
This is one of the best video ever! Amazing how you explained everything and footage are unbelievable! I'm planning to climb it next year, and I can't wait
There is quite a few folks making travel vlogs on UA-cam. I enjoyed Bald n Bankrupt, Indigo Traveler, Gabriel Traveler, others too - names I forget. But the Vaga Brothers are top of the bunch; great camera work and editing (thanks!), great soundtracks (not always techno-esque, thanks again!), excellent concise useful info, courtesy to culture and locals is out front. Great product.
Incredible experience. Wow. I love the adventures you bring us too. I know have 'been' to places I didn't know anything about. Rest well and until the next video. ♥🇨🇦
👍 for all the porters and support staff who got the Vag-crew up the hill. Surprised to see the drone fly at the final camp. Thought it would struggle along with the humans in the thin air. 🤔
The highest we've been is about 10,000 feet up in Rocky Mountain National Park, we weren't very prepared for the drastic weather change from Denver and had to run from lightning! The views up there look spectacular!
Alex, we used your video in class today and everybody is happy, your inspiration is just great. When in Arusha Tanzania, please pay us a visit at The Professional Tour Guide School. Cheers!
fantastic production, you deserve way more views than what you've currently got. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Well done! Hope to hike up Kilimanjaro myself one day.
This was REALLY enlightening. Been a fan of you guys for almost a year now and I love binge watching your content, especially before I travel. Was so happy to see that mt. Kilimanjaro helped you become so happy! I haven't traveled much in my life yet, but that is definetely on my bucket list!
Nice video! My wife and I really enjoyed exploring Mount Kilimanjaro with you. How did you mentally and physically prepare for this trip @vagabrothers?
I went with Kiliwarriors in 2010 when I was 17! While the crew and company have changed a lot since then, I am happy to still recognize some faces! This video is beautiful! It really captures the amazingness of each day on the hike! It is truly a life changing experience that I am so happy I was able to do. Thanks for making such a great video to really show the love of this amazing mountain volcano, as well as the hardwork these porters do, because yes, none of us would have gotten to the summit without them. They are incredible. Asante sana!
Thanks for sharing! This is beautifully done. I'm climbing next July, so this gives me a perfect look into what's to come. Looking forward to the next one.
Wow that is awesome! Beautiful video! I've been wanting to head out that way for a while and get some footage for my own channel. Keep up the good work!
I climbed Kilimanjaro once, will definitely do it again after watching this, Mama Louise deserves a credit 😀😀😀, waiting to watch part 2 of the adventure 💪🏿

Thanks dude!!! When are you planning to do it?
I remember in your walk and talk in NYC talking about climbing it. I know you can do it man!
1:14: *First westerner climbed in 1889. It is quite Euro-centric to believe that nobody from the continent of Africa climbed it before then.
Joel Taylor hahaha Europeans always want to take the credits for our very own things. Our ancestors climbed to the top many centuries ago
Ha???? Millions upon millions of people lived there through out history. How dumb you have to be to think that they never climbed it 💀💀 please, humble yourself you sound dumb.

Our ancestors climbed the mountain and prayed there. The Maa have reference to it from ancient times.
He clearly said "The first WESTERNER to climb." That in no way suggests the local inhabitants did not make the climb also. Don't be so anxious to distort people's statements into meaning something they didn't say.
Awesome video! I had no idea that there were four different ecological zones on the mountain. I think I have to add this to my bucket list now.
The different ecosystems are amazing! What an inspiring video

Unique Experience that You'll never want it to be a once in a life
I summited Kili in June of 2008. It was always my #1 item on my bucket list. I will never forget the last day's 3,500 foot climb from Barafu Camp to Uhura Peak. Encountered heavy snow half way up that June 6th day, but getting to the summit and sleeping that night at Crater Camp (500 feet below the summit) is something I will never forget.
Really cool video dude. Great all round way to share your experience!
Ive seen kilimanjaro many times but from the plane 😋😋they always show us when i fly from Nairobi to Mombasa
I love how every day starts with song!! Cool way to welcome a clearly amazing day 🤙🏼
Oh yeah!!! The team at Kiliwarrior are amazing! The song and dance are lead by Kimini, the camp manager who used to be a preacher. He’s super musical!
dude! love this video! you just motivated me to set even bigger goals than I already had!! Love it!
