What's up everyone?! I hope this favorite Sony a7iii accessories video was helpful. Did you like it? This really allowed me to take this camera to the next level. I now have a super balanced, easy to handle system, with outstanding audio, and external monitor and an additional light. Let me know what you think!!
Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
🎀❤️
Thanks brother!
@@TechGearTalk most Wlcm ✌️ 😊 🍫

have you try lumix s1 cage
*EVERY TIME I SEE YOUR VIDEOS I AM JUST AMAZED BY THE EFFORTS YOU PUT TO MAKE IT. I ALWAYS SAY THAT YOU DESERVE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST UA-camR FOR GADGET REVIEWS. HATS OFF TO YOU.*
Oh wow, that is very humbling to hear. I really appreciate you being part of the community. Please share any content the you enjoy with others who might be interested. We’ll get to a million!
Love your reviews, I watch an array of gear/ tech reviewers and you bring such a calming energy to your videos. Straight and to the point, which is perfect 😊
Oh wow, thank you so much. Appreciate you taking the time to share such kind feedback. Super glad you like the approach. Thanks for being part of the channel 🙏
The only thing I use not in here is a rail mount, follow focus, and matte box.
But this rig is more than enough if you are shooting weddings or corporate event type of things.
such great video quality,, broll, audio, lighting. appreciate the effort 👍🏼
Thank you so much Andrea. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for the kind words. Thank you for joining the community 🙏
Man your explanations are the best. I love you. I just subscribed.
So glad you liked them and I super appreciate you joining the channel!
super helpful and informative for a new a7iii owner! thank you
Can you show a tutorial on using these in real time? Like how you connect and power all of these external accessories?
great video, do you have a bag recommendation for this setup?
_Your videos are so clean, _*_wow_*
Oh wow, thank you so much 🙏🏻
Can you please tell which is one of the best sony lenses to take product photography with this camera , thank you
Thank you Tech Gear Talk, I just bought a crap ton of gear from your links after watching your video =)
Glad it was helpful and appreciate the support 🙏 Let me know if you have any questions.
Could I add on a dji ronin 3 and add in it or it’s not nessary ?
very good information thanks
Glad it was helpful!
what camera and lens do you use for the details part (such as eject battery)? love your videos from Italy!
Depending on which shot it was... I shoot on C100MKii, probably the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 or a Canon L series 24-70 f/2.8
@@TechGearTalk Wonderful quality of course!
oh wow, thank you!
Do these accessories work with the a7IV
30,000 sub congrats!!!!
Thank you so much, appreciate the support!
How do we make this set up work with one variation. Namely- what if to use
Shotgun Microphone ECM-B1M given it needs direct power from the multi interface shoe.
I don't have that mic so I don't know how much space it takes up. It might be possible to mount the light where the mic is and not use a top handle.
Link to the external monitor? Great video
Thanks Martin! It's in the description, almost all the way at the bottom.
love your videos
Thanks so much!!
Thanks so much for your wonderful tutorials! Would you still be willing to create one for the Beachtek DXA-Micro Pro+, as you offered in this video? I'm about to order it through this page. Thanks!
Hi, replied in the other video.
@@TechGearTalk Hi again, I wanted to ask about the monitors this time. Do you know if it's possible to use these as external monitors when doing a basic colour grade in DaVinci Resolve? I'm trying to see if I can get a monitor to do double-duty as they are not cheap...
Hi. You may be "able" to, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would want something with better color rendering.
Great video, but would like to see your rig once all the cables are hanging off of it.
Thanks Marty! It's not really that bad. I use the absolute shortest cables possible. The audio cables are not an issue at all, and for the HDMI I use a 90 degree "curly" cable so it's not just hanging. Great point to bring up though. I think the added value is worth it for me 🙏
Great stuff 👍 can you please tell me if face detection worked with this external monitor? I have seen reviews saying this feature won't work on a7iii with external monitor? Cheers
Thanks! I believe I cover that in the full review ua-cam.com/video/X0wp0GRgFsk/v-deo.html I think if you use an external monitor and are shooting in 4k you'll need to also record externally (ex. on an Atomos) for face detection to work.
@@TechGearTalk thanks so much for reply. So if I only want to record in1080 with external monitor, (and use face detection) do you think it will work without the need for external saving/storage?
yes, 1080p works.
@@TechGearTalk AHH thanks for your response, I could not find a definitive answer to this anywhere. Cheers 👍👍👍 might order a monitor now😀
Glad I could help!
Hi! You mentioned on the "things to know before you buy" video that with video that's connected to an external monitor there's a special way to get the focus tracking. I have the black magic video assist and I'm wondering if you'd be able to test using that monitor?
Hi. If you connect to an external monitor and you're shooting in 4K, you have to record externally. (once you turn off internal recording, the focus feature will work again). Does that make sense?
@@TechGearTalk ahhh ok ok, my black magic video assist is an external recorder however i have the old non-4K version. I guess I should set up the Sony using the non-4K options?
That makes sense. Actually, can't it down-convert from 4k when recording?
@@TechGearTalk I'll try then I'll let you know! It's just I'm also wondering too because the file that the BMVA (black magic video assist) records are Apple ProRes HD, Apple ProRes, then lower quality ones! But the Sony records differently. Hmm once I get my own Sony AF3 I'll let you know asap!
Appreciate it! 🙏
Where's the link to the monitor you're talking about?
Thank you for catching that!!! I just added a link in the description.
Sagi hey, just got my first A7iii How you get that sharp video when u show items while u talking?
CONGRATS!!! It's a combination of a lot of things - what are you trying to accomplish. The last few videos look nice - what lens are you using?
@@TechGearTalkwow thanks alot! i realy exceted you took the time to check out the results on my channel.those the sony 50mm f1.8 and the sigma art 24mm 1.4.....so what to do next to achieve YOUR amazing results???!😀😀😀🌹
It's hard for me to answer because I don't know what exactly you're trying to achieve. I think it looks really good, but is there another video you want to "look like"
@@TechGearTalk yes! Every time you show the gear u talking about...while u speeking...its so Sharp !!maybe the lights makes it?
Lighting has a lot to do with it, framing, and the camera/lens.
Great
by using sigma mc11 adapter, it reduces the quality or not?
No reduction in quality. It just moves the lens farther from the sensor so that it is at the correct focus distance.
Really cool content !!! I don’t understand ,why there are so few likes)
Appreciate it. As long as it was helpful - it did its job.
great info
Super happy to hear that. Hope it was helpful.
Wooo , Thanks for the new 1⃣ Session🙏😍✌️😇😛😀😎
Thanks for watching bro! Which accessory did you like?
FYI - I had a problem with the Lexar memory card. Got error messages that the camera could not read the card. Lexar refunded my money. Price was too good to believe.
Hi Scott. I had the exact same issue until I upgraded the firmware on the camera a few months ago. Ever since then, they have been working great.
Thank for sharing your experience!
Can the cage be used on a gimbal?
The cage, definitely, I remove the handle, mic, light and monitor though.
@@TechGearTalk Thanks.
You're very welcome
can u plz tell that should i buy the 200d even though the 250d is out even though i dont want 4k
What will you use it for?
@@TechGearTalk videos for youtube but i cant edit 4k on my pc
You don’t need 4K for UA-cam. What is the price difference where you live?
@@TechGearTalk in dollars it would be 300 $
Ok, that's a lot of money. Will you shoot at 24fps?
That's to this video
Which is the best quality at the best price?
Got it. See previous question.
You forgtot to mention pack mule for moving this pile of steel around :)
Oh, doesn't everyone already have one of those? 😂
Lol.
But in all seriousness, it's not super heavy :)
Where is your gimbal? 😉
Good call! I totally forgot!!!
Now that I broke my camera viewfinder and screen due to a fall, I wish I've had that cage on the camera at the time it would have protected it. I always thought I'm invincible and careful, reality is accidents do happen and you can only be so much careful
Oh no!!! So sorry 😢
Did you send it in for repair? Or are you using it as is?
I don’t even own the Sony A7iii but this video was bomb. Really looking forward to watching your other reviews!! 🙌🏼
Appreciate the kind words and support Cait! What do you shoot with?
I currently use the Panasonic LUMIX G7 and the Nikon D3300, for the price points I can’t complain. When it comes to filming for my channel I use my phone cause I’m lazy LOL.
Those are good values. No shame in using a phone; the best camera is the one you have with you.
Can the audio connector you talk About in the end of your video be compatible with the tascam Lavalier mics?
Lots of great stuff. The cage looks pretty tight. I got a lume cube air too but I use my litra Pro more often. Have you tired litra lights?
The cage is nice to have, that’s for sure. I need to give Litra a try for sure. What makes you like it more than the LC?
@@TechGearTalk The Litra Pro is bi-color. Going from 3000K to 6000K. It has just as many accessories but the Litra Pro also has a softbox. Which I use a lot. It's awfully expensive though. They have a 20% discount code if you want it.
If you don't need the bi-color they have the smaller Litra Torch 2.0 but it doesn't have Bluetooth. I like the design and build quality of the Litra products better. The Litra also has a better light pattern since it uses multiple LEDs.
Super solid points. I need to get a few and see for myself. Thanks for the valuable insight!
Very professional video, I hope that you know how awesome your videos are!
Thank you so much for the kind words and support 🙏 Grateful to have you as part of the community.
Hey dude! Been watching a bunch of your videos. Love your pace and approach to things, super easy to follow and it's crystal clear.
Cheers!
I appreciate the kind words. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Just ordered another 700$ worth of gear from your must have accessories video on the A7iii - hopefully the affiliate links work.
Hey brotha! Great video. I had a question though: I’m getting more into concert video/photo & the venues I’ve been working at aren’t fans of stay on lights. Does this cage allow for, for example, a rode mic & a flash to be mounted onto it? Can’t seem to find a definite answer online & would love your insight! I currently have a rode mic & am looking into a Godox flash but I’m not sure if the flash can be used without having to attach it to the hot-shoe. Again, any clarity would be greatly appreciated. Thank you bro!
Great video man! Gonna grab some of these for the channel! Thanks again :)
Super glad it was helpful Steven! Good luck and thanks for joining the community 🙏
Just got the A7iii and I’m boring a rig right now. It’s hard to know exactly what you want because there’s so many add-ons to choose from for a cage.
Hello sir, which lens ur using in this video
Here is all my gear: ua-cam.com/video/Knqufkb35kY/v-deo.html
Excellent!!!
Thanks so much Yuval! Appreciate having you as part of the channel!
I was looking to move my monitor over to the left further& the side handle just might do the trick& provide a little stable balance with recording
Great review! As for me, I'm super happy with my new Canon SL2, I'm loving it!
Thanks for the feedback Jose. You know I love the sl2!
Would be nice to see cable management with all accessories connected. Have you used wifi connection? Thanks!
Good feedback!
Which dolly slider do you use?
Hi, I use several from Kessler, Edelkrone and Rhino so it would depend on the shot.
Man, to be honest, English is not my first lenguage, and im having problems hearing your name. Can you spell it out for me, please?
I would love to see a 5D Mark IV review. But a straight to the point review, you know what I mean? pros and cons, honest review
I love your videos, man
Thanks for the feedback - glad you are still able to watch and understand the videos. I don't have a 5DMKIV at this time so I don't know when that would be. If I'm able to get a hold on one and test it out, I will definitely publish a review.
Appreciate the support, Sagi.
This is a really really nice robust setup
Thanks so much for watching!!!
Did you laundry your products before the shoot? Lol. They look so clean n fresh. Wow.
As always your videos are full of ton of info. Luv from India.🤗
Ha!!! I use a lot of wipes :)
Did you like the accessories?
Indeed yes. I have saved ur video in my playlist for future reference. Thanks for bringing up the video
Appreciate all the support and having you as part of the community
Always enjoying your videos! That was awesome. great accessories. Yeah..., although I consider myself a canon guy, SONY is making great products, so this is very interesting. Thanks!
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave feedback. It’s interesting to see what each brand does and work within that ecosystem.
What's your opinion on the Sony Shotgun Microphone that's compatible with the a7? Have you used it before?
The one that fits on the hotshoe? It’s very good.
@@TechGearTalk Yes, that one. Thank you!
Do you recommend purchasing one SanDisk memory card and one Lexar for the a7? Or two lexars?
Both have worked well for me. I would probably find a deal on a 2-pack.
@@TechGearTalk Thanks for the recommendation!
Well I just got this camera and will two things from your list
That’s awesome Ishtar. Which accessories did you like?
Thx for the great sharing, I have 2 questions that wondering me awhile. 1st why using the sigma 18-35mm f1.8 lens on a7iii body on APCS mode? It becomes equivalent 28-50mm in full-frame focal length and f1.8 become close to f2.5 effect isn't bokehlicious right? Second is I had the mc-11 adapter as well, and I found out later it works badly on video autofocus with canon lens. Where I found out less UA-camr mentioned about this, as it only works well on the photo shooting autofocus. Sorry for my English. :X
Glad it was helpful:
1. Because it's my favorite lens and I love the footage I get from it (plus I already own it)
2. That is correct. If you watch my a7iii review you'll hear me saying it: ua-cam.com/video/X0wp0GRgFsk/v-deo.html
thanks so much for watching!
Would you mind sending me a link for all the items??
Hi there - all the items are in the description. Were you able to find them?
Tech Gear Talk yes got it thank you!
🙏
Thank you so much good video please make a video how to operate and handle the small rig with takeing a video shoot
Glad it was helpful - I'll do a followup.
Thanks for the video sagi.
You’re very welcome. Appreciate you watching.
Please review the: Beachtek DXA-Micro Pro+
Thanks for watching Doug. Will do.
If you're handheld with that setup, how do you adjust focus?
Hi. I use auto focus when I'm handholding.
Great video man.
Thanks so much 🙏🏻
Please do a review on the Beachtek DXA-Micro Pro+
I will try. It’s amazing. Absurdly good value.
Hey bud. Can this cage be used on the RONIN-S Gimbal ? If not, what gimbal do you have it attached to? What is the whole cage swiveling on ?
Hi, I didn't try it on the Ronin-S, but I don't see why I couldn't use it (probably remove the handle and the accessories of course. When do you see it swiveling?
I saw you turn the camera a couple times in the vid. Nonetheless, I assumed this cage an setup could have worked on a gimbal. What are the benefits of the cage vs a gimbal? Why wouldn’t you use a gimbal like the ronin-s for everything?
The Ronin S is a fantastic gimbal, but it is SO HEAVY. It also requires a lot of setup. And if you added a monitor and a microphone and a light.... OMG I would need an extra guy helping me lift it, LOL. (or I need to start lifting weights 😂🤣 ).
If I'm shooting a quick shot and I can just do it handheld - I will. Also, it's nice to have everything in one compact system. The cage also protects the camera.
Hope this makes sense.
Thank you so much for professional review . It’s pleasure to watch and thank you for very helpful links. Respect!!! One question pls bro. Why you don’t use Zakuto cage for Sony 7 aiii - it seems more convenient on right hand side
I never saw that before. Looks great with the added pad. Would really reduce the spread in the hand. Good idea.
@@TechGearTalk Thanks Bro! Going to order it - just was in doubt - maybe pro-photographers/videographers don't use it for some particular reason ?? )) Bless
It was also a lot more expensive.
@@TechGearTalk Yes, I like your expression :"Buy it nice or buy it twice" )) Seriously I was just impressed by design on right hand side of ZaKuto cage - should be more convenient ? Do you like feeling of the aluminium cage under your right hand side while shooting?
Because of the wooden grip on the left hand, I find that most of the weight goes there. My contact with the cage on the right is fairly "flat" because it's the right side, not the bottom, and it fits really well. The wooden handle makes a huge difference because I now let go of my right hand to make changes.
And for memory cards, I have still have a few of my older SanDisk ones... A SanDisk Ultra SDXC 1 and a SanDisk Extreme SDHC 1.. Thoughts on those 2 cards for the Sony A7iii?
I've used my old cards and the mostly work. I have had some issues with 4K here and there (which is why I switched). I"m still looking for better, affordable, options than the Lexar.
@@TechGearTalk thank you! I shot photo with a rental of it today, as I'm testing to see if I'll be switching.... And I was quite impressed! I shot on card and tethered with Capture One. VERY IMPRESSED! And watching your video before using it HELPED A LOT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
So glad to hear that you liked it!
Amazing man,as always💥💥💥💥💥
Thanks brother for all the support!! Which accessories did you like?
Can you please recommend a tripod for this setup please.
Hi Brian. What would the use case be? Trying to figure out if you need a video tripod or not.
@@TechGearTalk Hi Tech Gear, thanks so much for responding, it would be for filming presentations. I'm going to buy pretty much your whole set and use your links. I just need to know the tripod.
Ok, if the setup does not move (meaning, you're not panning and following a speaker), essentially any tripod that can handle the weight would do. If you are adding camera movement, then we want a fluid head. If you're looking for some professional options without spending thousands, here are some options:
One of the ones I use: geni.us/manfrotto504hd535k
Some other options:
geni.us/Z74AN
geni.us/SPdiD
Let me know if you have any other questions! (thanks for supporting the channel).
Thanks for this terrific video. Does the cage work with the battery grip?
You're very welcome Anthony. It does not work with a battery grip because of the height :(
Tech Gear Talk apparently this cage works with the grip. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1484506-REG/smallrig_2176b_cage_for_sony_a7riii_a7m3_a7iii.html
nice!
Please could you do a a7ii review as I am in between a 6300 a6400 or the a7 ii , Thanks , JC . take care!
What would you be using it for?
@@TechGearTalk Hi , I am using it for landscape & nature , birds ,deer , not often but birds in flight. I own a Nikon D 610 and thinking of moving to a mirrowless camera
Makes sense. Well, the a6400 is probably the way to go for you. The AF is incredible and you'll get the advantage of the APS-C sensor for capturing animals. Then you can focus on lenses, and if you ever upgrade the body in a few years, you can re-use the lenses.
Here is my a6400 live unboxing: ua-cam.com/video/WS3aaTa3HRc/v-deo.html (I have a detailed review coming soon)
@@TechGearTalk Thanks I will look at your a6400 review again and start looking at prices, Live in Canada so bit higher hear. I am going on 70 tee but photography is still my passion , take care! John
I should have the full review up in about a week. Love to see the passion remains!
