I very well agree with your views especially on the sustainability issues brought in by the ball pens.
Though my collection spree is only a decade or so old, have been using FPs since 1977 or so (except a gap of few years when Reynolds came with the Carbide tip and paper was newsprint waste for my notes writing).
Now my daughter is into it since a decade or so and is the only one in her university using it and with all her colorful writing. It also led her to practice calligraphy in English, Arabic and Devnagiri. The gift that makes her most happy is a FP - not dress or jewellry or any other stuff that is is usually appealing for girls.

I’m so glad I chanced upon this video. As a lifelong lover and user of fountain pens I really feel an automatic kinship with a fellow fountain pen enthusiast.
You spoke eloquently about the pleasures, uses and reasons for using fountain pens. And I naturally agree with everything you said here.
I love all my pens very dearly. And I use them, by rotation, every single day of the year. FPs are one of the biggest loves and joys of my life. Reading books is another. I use my pens for writing essays, poems, stories, random notes, transcribing text from books or magazines and in various other ways as a daily habit. Writing with FPs is a perfect a analogue alternative and antidote to staring at screens and using digital devices all day long. So thank you for dong this video and sharing your passion and sincere opinions about fountain pens. You’re right, more people really ought to be encouraged to try and hopefully love owning and using fountain pens on their daily lives.
Typewriters are another that I really love for their continuing utility, charm and satisfaction got from owning and using the machines. You’re a professional writer. Do you own any?

It is the wand of a magician. The ink is water. If held to the rising sun, mantras chanted, the ink takes that vibration. Main issue for students is the cost! There is very few good fountain pens within ₹100. Previously Camlin used to provided true VFM fountain pens within ₹100 like . Nowadays many companies copied Camlin's pens and sells them at 5x the cost that former asks, this is purely because they can't achieve the volume of sales that Camlin has/had.
Sir if this kind of initiatives are taken at schools and colleges level to explain the benefits of fountain pens then it will really increase its demands

I have accidently stumbled upon your videos and I am wondering why no one has decided to do this previously. You have filled a void with a voice and I think it is about time that the craftsmen of India have a spokesman for, not only their amazing products, but the truly wonderful people behind them. That message does get out there. I've been a huge fan of Indian pens and inks for years. Besides 50 assorted ebonite pens, I may have a couple of hundred eyedropper, piston types in acrylic and assorted plastics. From the fancy to the humble, they all have a place in my home and all are part of the story of my life. I am glad to welcome you into my home in Southern Indiana, USA. Your efforts are appreciated.

খুব ভালো লাগলো আপনার বক্তব্য। সত্যিই কালি-কলম নিয়ে আমাদের নতুন করে ভাবা দরকার, এর ব্যবহার বাড়াতেই হবে। একটা ব্যাপারে একটু বলার - এখনকার বেশিরভাগ ফাউন্টেন পেনে তিন রকম উপায়ে কালি ভরার ব্যবস্থা থাকে - কার্ট্রিজ, কনভার্টার আর সরাসরি ব্যারেলে কালি। তা এই কার্ট্রিজ কিন্তু বল পেনের (বা রিফিলের) মত use and throw. সেক্ষেত্রে প্লাস্টিক দূষণ এটা থেকেও হতে পারে। শুধু কনভার্টার বা পিস্টন ফিলার এবং ব্যারেলে কালি ভরে ব্যবহারের উপর জোর দিতে হবে। অনেক শুভেচ্ছা আপনার এই নিঃস্বার্থ প্রচেষ্টাকে। সাথে আছি।

Sustainability.. A million doller topic.In case of writing fountain pen is the key to maintain the sustainability in the writing tool. As a fountain pen collector and as a writer I feel it really gives me a different level of pleasure when I write with a fountain pen. Moreover, I love the mechanisms of fountain pen.

Hello sir, this is me, Sumantra Chatterjee, a teacher of mathematics from Bandel, West Bengal and I also love FPs very much. I am liking your videos at heart...I have also collected several fps like airmail wality demonstrator, click aristocrat....etc.
But sir the main problem is I don't like the bleeding and burping of fps, specially on bad quality paper. I have lots of students using different kinds of maths copy, they may be good, average or worst. But that are their choices, I couldn't interfere. So while writing, I see some bleeding on paper my mind becomes depressed. So sir can you please suggest how to overcome this situation and some recommendations of indian pens which are the best on every page and don't bleed and also types of nibs that is EF, F, M, B, Stub etc.

Good video. I agree with your premise that owning a fountain pen is the sustainable option; but why then do so many people who are into fountain pens buy and own so many of them? What about the fact that many of them own 100s of bottles of ink as well? A mechanical pencil is a sustainable option, and I agree with you about the benefits of writing things by hand.
