One of my new year's resolutions was to travel alone to a new city! I've been to Tokyo twice before but it was my first time in Kyoto and although I didn't do much, I enjoyed the freedom of doing whatever I wanted to. I DO think this will be my last time traveling alone as I enjoy having company way too much but I'm still glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to try something new :)

This girl really went with her Sailor Moon tshirt for the trip 😂 love it! The shots was sooo good, I felt the Kyoto vibe, and the fact that you were vloging alone - very well done Ashley!
And a meet with the longtime fan was so wholesome 🥹 She seems to be a great person ❤
Hahaha i was SAVING this tee for this trip!! 😂
And she really is the sweetest 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I could never imagine travelling alone in a foreign country. So proud of u for being the independent woman u are. You never fail to inspire me, Ash. More power to u! ❤
Thank you for your sweet words 🥺🫶🏻🩷
It's normal for Japanese to travel alone in Japan regardless of sex
#Nothing to proud of😅
@@wonderman7788but Ashley is not Japanese so we can be proud of her if we want to 😊
@@wonderman7788 one, she's NOT Japanese and she's NOT from Japan :)
I solo travelled for the first time in 2023, went to Netherlands, Germany & France for a week, then went to South Korea for 2 weeks. Best experience ever.
Idk why but it was so surprising watching u speak Japanese lol 😭
The editing was SO on point and loved watching u socialize and becoming friends with a fan🥺
Ps. theres a "friend" waiting for you in
Mumbai, India 😉
Thank you!! And ONE DAY🤞🏻🩷
What a beautiful trip that you will remember forever Ashley! I'm glad you took us along. I'd love to visit some parts of Japan someday too ❤
Watching Ashley’s vlog makes me more excited about travelling by myself in the future. I’ve always been scared of the smallest things like eating by myself in the past, so I’ve really tried to step outside my comfort zone these days.
17:03-17:07, 7:04-7:10 are such amazing shots. you have such a good eye because the scenery montages captured the vibe of kyoto well. thank you for sharing this with us and i look forward to more
aw it's so nice that you got to meet up with a fan 🥺 she's so pretty
man, people are really different. You get lonely after two days, while i have no problems being alone for a week.
though i do agree, traveling alone feels less special without someone to share it with.
I did that last week and it was another reminder that I love traveling alone. Thanks for sharing your video.
IMAGINE HAVING A CUTE DATE WITH YOUR FAV IDOL LIKE OMGGGG that girl is so lucky
Hi Ashley,
Glad to see that you've done one of your resolutions.., I was in Japan this summer Kyoto is a peaceful city and yes the food and service are perfect .
Before that I was in Korea and now I really understand why you love so much Jeju-do Waterfalls, Mount Hallasan, Jeju 5 days Market and of course real lovely peoples !!❤Korea.
Take care of you and Thanks for sharing your voyage !!
Love to see you back Ash!💗 omg the chef was so sweet i can tell from his voice hahah, 😅❤
ashley with a breakdown after her meeting with lavely is so cute 😿😿😿
It has been a bit of rough, crazy day. It's 2pm and i am finally sitting down to lunch. I am glad i can finally resume watching something so comforting....
What an amazing vlog!!!!! GO ASH🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I'm travelling alone to South Korea next week and I'm honestly excited and scared. I also don't like going to places with many tourists and am shy as hell to practice my Korean. This video is, in a way, comforting. Fingers crossed, it will be worth it.
Lmao are you me ? Also traveling solo to SK next week too and also super shy and fearing this big change
Omg u guys should meet up!!! 🥺😂 i hope you love Korea!!❤
this is so wholesome :) i love it.
ASHLEY!!! 😭💗💗💗💗
hey Ashley i'm glad you are back, i have missed you and your videos although been seeing u on the radio. lotss of love from brazil ❤❤❤
OMG OMGG I CANNOT NOT RELATE! 😭😭 I also just went on my first ever solo travel last week (and i feel that it may also be my LAST! HAHA)!! Your realization about the food/menu??? IS SO SPOT ON! I wanna eat a lot, and most of the menu are for sharing so i ended up eating mostly in convenience store 😭 I also just made it short, 2d1n, coz i don't think I can handle more days being alone in a diff country!! But you made ut better, your timing of arrival and choice of accommodation is well planned. I arrived at midnight, check in is not until 3pm, and i chose a hostel!! If I ever will do it again? I will surely plan the timings more and my accomm ;( but omg im so glad i saw this vlog. I felt like finally someone understood what i felt and shared what i couldn't speak last wk hahahah Thanks, Ashley!
After much experience, I've concluded that for me a week is the outer limit for traveling solo. It helps to sign up for guided walking tours or group day trips or cooking classes or whatever so that you get some social interaction.
17:47 a split second, but it really showed ashley's RBF. i love it hahahaha
Your vibe is next level❤❤❤
오랜만에 노래를 들었고 생각이나 시청 했네요.
고맙습니다.
i missed you ashley!! thank you for this!! your vlogs are always so therapeutic
Glad you had a good trip in Kyoto! The food looked so good! I've been to Japan on quite a few solo trips and also with family and friends but I'm a bit of the opposite and love travelling alone even though it's nice to have someone to share immediate experiences with and queuing for stuff is less boring. I think one or two other companions is good but not a bigger group. My bucket list is to visit as many prefectures as I can but Kansai is one of my top destinations so far! ❤
such a lovely video. i applaud you for travelling alone, this is something on my bucket list as well.
if you ever come to croatia, know you have a friend here too!
Hi Ashley!
I'm so glad you came to Japan!
I wanted to meet you because I'm living in Osaka😀so I'm jealous Arisa chan! lol
I wanna meet you someday✨
Sorry my broken English~😂
Gosh I love!!!!! Ashley’s!!!!! Aestheticccss!!!!
Yaaayyy!!! I’m so excited to see a new video/vlog on your channel!! I missed you so muchhhh 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I just got back from my trip to Japan and Kyoto was one of my favorite places to visit. I was so happy when I saw your vlog from Kyoto 🥰 It was so nice to see the city from your point of view. Thank you for the vlog Ashley! 🫶🏻
I think travelling alone it's so nice but it's less lonely when you go to meet up or visit with a guide or for just an activity 😊
Ahh Ashly i enjoyed this so much, recently I’ve been traveling around with my sister and yes i agree with you although I’m introverted yet i prefer company while traveling, who’s gonna hear me if not my sister when i yell WOW IT IS SO PRETTY LOOK AT IT ? Haha
Your vlog was very soothing, not right into the face or being extra kinda vlog LOVE IT. Take care Ashly, fighting 💕
i've been waiting for your vlog😭💖
I missed you so much Ashley! Thanks for the vlog. I really know about the social interaction feeling you mentioned and I just want to tell you that your vlogs helped a lot on that process because I found your channel when I started living alone and I was feeling so confused about the new adulting shit I have to deal with but indirectly you have been there and bcs of that I wasn't feeling alone at all, so thank you Ashley🤍
Love it so much thank you for uploading it 💗
So proud of you taking this challenge 😊 Really enjoyed watching
omg I stayed here and loved it, at the blossom. I would definitely stay again.
ASHLEY I MISSED U SOOOO MUCH 😭😭
May I say that I absolutely admire your style??? 😫♥️
Loved your outfits
I love this video. I also went to japan last May1-10. Alone. I spent my bday alone. I went to disneyland alone. The feeling is different. Like its so refreshing not to talk to anyone. But what i hate is no one can take pictures. Lol
i hope i can also travel alone to japan one day! you’re so cute with your japanese
The camera moving makes me think someone is filming you 😂 i really enjoyed this ashley its my biggest fear to travel alone
I teared up when you said you remembered RiSe 🥺
Ok global code! 😉 You’re still good at Japanese. Ashley you really are an international baddie!
9 course meal for only $95?! Especially straight from a chef?! That's a good price compare to some in the US. Seafood or sushi are much more expensive in the states than in Asia cause its not common food.
i really am fascinated by how E you are because i'm that same level of I. maybe i can fake some social energy for awhile but after not long i want to mush someone's face and be alone.😄
thank u Ash for sharing ur lovely solo trip in Kyoto.. i know how hard it to travel alone but u made it.. I'm happy for u.. solo trip unlocked 🔓 really enjoyed watching it.. looking for the Argentina trip soon 😍🥰✨💗
6:40 omg My biggest culture shock moving to Japan, specifically Kyoto, was learning to walk on the left side. I sometimes run into people even now because other parts of Japan walk on the right side so Japanese people who are visiting Kyoto may also walk on the right side instead of the left, and it's even more confusing in tourist-heavy areas because the tourists are walking on the right and the locals on the left and I don't know which way is better hahaha
That was a Good deal imo for a 9 course meal! Around $10-12 for each item so the price makes sense! Love the video!!
I think so too! And thank you ❤❤
I miss her a loooot! ✨🤍
Great episode 💕
for me sometimes difficult to wait for friends to come with me on trips... So solo trip - is my thing. And actually I like it quite a lot (maybe cuz last time I am more I than E). Exploring on my own is really nice. But of course with friends it's another fun way of traveling 😄
Finally 😢😢
18:33 lemmi just AhahahahHhhHhHah
love this vlog! i've never travelled alone yet but i'd love to try it one day. I do wanna suggest that maybe you could host a trova trip! i see alot more creators hosting them and you get the plan the whole thing as far as i know. it would be so cool to go somewhere with one of my favourite creators
Great shots and edit!!
Aww, ありさ is a lucky lavely!
Thank you for coming to Kyoto☺️
I hope you have good time there and plz come to Japan again ❤
BTW your Japanese is so good and cute
the old guy in 26:39 was judging you both hahahaha
🥲🥲
와우~!! 아*사 곧 결혼하는거 알고 있었는데... 슐리에게 축하받고 너무 좋네! 3차까지... 행복한 웃음 나까지 기분 업되는듯... 일본 도쿄 공연 생각난다..
Unnie thank you for inspiring me i will travel alone someday~ 🩵
i need the playlist of this video 👀
Of course I watched it
Where did you get the necklace you had on in day 1? Love it! Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us 💜 I've started traveling alone some & I understand how hard it can be but also rewarding. Worse parts are trying to get pics of yourself & like you said the food 😂
Ashley out here flexing her Japanese hahaha
I MISSED YOUUUU
Curiosity killed the pickle 😂
Post more japan vlogs pls 🌼
I want to go to Japan so bad but i have no one else to go with. And i’ve been thinking to travel alone.
are you going to argentina??? ashleyyy!!!!
11:14 That zoom-in hahhaha
ooh where did you get those yellow glasses?
From Gentle Monster :)
💗💗
omg the queen speaks Japanese?? global code for realll
You shouldn't feel bad if you're more of a social person
First 😮😮
Oh my gosh how is the camera tracking you at about 18:30? In this whole scene it’s almost like someone is controlling it. 😮
😀
Feeling like going on a trip r8 now bt my exams are going😭
hey i just curious does anyone know if i can travel in japan knowing no japan at all like 0 japanese,, i speak english fluently tho and i know a little bit of korean (like i can have a convo in korean and i can watch things w out subs but not always get a full understanding of whats going on but got the main points)
Yes! They mostly understood English! If not, you always have body language or Google Translate to fall back on 😂
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Okay but was the chef cute? :p
23:03 You were never really alone Ashley I know Risé was there watching over you. Maybe laughing to herself that you would get the pickle and just throw it away. 😂 I just know she blessed you and protected you when you went on this trip. 💜
💜💜💜
🥹💜
i was shocked to see you engage in a conversation with the chef and then i remember omg ashley used to be a kpop idol of course she's great at languages!!! as someone who travels abroad alone a lot but relies solely on my english (and google image translate) i'm so impressed!!!!
I also totally forgot that Cube made everyone learn Japanese. Most of the CLC and BTOB members can hold full convos in Japanese.
@@medioreblatherskite i didn't know, that's so impressive!
This was great travel vlog! Thank you for sharing. It takes a lot of courage to travel alone. Your interactions with other people were so authentic and real. I’m also glad you were able to meet up with a friend at the end 😊
You always deserve a nice meal. Never hesitate to treat yourself if it doesn't put you in a bad spot. You know you deserve the best of the best and new experiences too
I’ve done solo traveling in a few places and tbh I’m an i and I actually enjoyed so much solo traveling… I think it’s more difficult for someone who’s an extrovert as they need to share their experiences. Solo travel is definitely a self reflection and you can gain a lot of insights and empowerment from yourself.
Thank you for taking me to Kyoto with you❤(even i live in Japan, i have been to Kyoto only once as school trip 😂)
Im so surprised that you speak Japanese so good!
月に変わってお仕置きよ♡ sounds perfect!!hehehe
Wish i could travel through Japan with you!
Thank you so much for sharing the journey with us!
I've wanted to travel to Japan for like 9 years now, but it's been so long since I took Japanese class that I've forgotten all the useful basics. Plus flying is so expensive.
One of the nice things about solo travel is not having to worry about if your buddies are enjoying the same attractions/food/etc. Scheduling is simple and flexible if you're not meeting up with people. It's nice to just go breathe, take it all in, then talk about it when you get back.
Hope you enjoyed the experience. ♡
Thank you for the new vlog, Ash. I hope you had a great time in Kyoto, it looked like you did based on the pics. The intro to this video is amazing too. I will have to watch it in pieces, but i am looking forward to it 💜
I miss your vlogs so much! That Sailor Moon shirt with the skirt... perfection. What a great way to start off the weekend. I *love* the way you ask the sushi chef for permission to film him. You're just too adorable, Ashley. ^~^
I have never commented on UA-cam, but your Japanese is super cute 🩷🩵
Your camera was nodding because it knew you were alone so it was being an active listener so you didn't feel alone😂 I did my first solo trip to Hong Kong this year and I LOVED it! I can't wait for my next solo trip and your next vlog!
와 ~~ it’s so admirable seeing how you have the courage to communicate in japanese with the locals ❤️ you’re so effortless at it!
you posted just as I'm applying to study abroad in Japan :) lovely vlog and I always love your honest sit down sessions! I'm happy you're getting so many opportunities to travel 💜
15:50 is that like a whole family with the same shirt? thats so cute, what the heck :D
I'm wondering how this nuclear wastewater will affect travelers. I was supposed to go next month now I'm re thinking things
as an extrovert, I can relate to this. 😭 going out and eating alone outside is so uncomfortable for me. 😔 thanks for taking us on this journey, ash!
