    Great stuff. When I was in college, we all had stall (Swedish) bars and men's even bars---even women used them for kips and planks--and now they're gone, replaced with all that resistance equipment.

    These are tension and stress exercises . Strength exercises are different. They do not stress or cause tension and yet make you stronger. They bring more energy , stamina and magnetism. They re energize the whole nervous system and even make you feel more relaxed and younger

    • @calimove

      +Mario Tushe Depends on the exercise and your goals/level. Some are great support exercises, some are more for mobility and some are "main exercise" itself :)

    • @calimove
      @calimove  10 років тому +1

      Yeah, you can do a assisted Victorian on the Rings. You hold yourself in the victorian position and your feet are placed on a bench. If this is to easy you can try it with a resistance band: You hold yourself on the rings and your feet are placed in the band (which is fixed on a high bar). You can also do this both methods without rings: Instead you can hold yourself in the victorian position between two benches (or on parallel bars). Your arms are laid out on the bench (or on the parallel bar) and your support yourself with your feet (band or another bench/chair).

    This is going to help with my strength so much, thanks! Also, I do a lot of regular push ups as the basis of my training along with abs and pull ups and then throw harder things in around those.
    Would it be a good idea to replace the standard push ups with diamond push ups to increase my push strength?

    • @calimove
      @calimove  10 років тому +2

      Yes , you can try new and harder movements if you dont progress anymore.
      Add a new exercise a new angle/lever. This can help you to progess. Try also dips for more push strength and also handstand push ups or pike push ups.

    Hello.
    I have never been athletic but have started to work out.
    I'm 6.1, 98kg. I have a bit of a beer belly but it's not prominent as I have broad shoulders.
    I started exercising to stop snoring (it worked. I may still snore softly but my girlfriend no longer wants to kill me) then it became a quest to look good. But now as I work harder at it it has become about achieving gymnastic strength, balance and flexibility.
    Do you have any tips or pointers to help someone improve strength in shoulders, core and balance (from home... I do have an aversion to the gym) with bodyweight exercises?

    • @philwindsor2884
      @philwindsor2884 10 років тому +1

      Hey Nice working so far, if i had a tip would would be to pick 2 exercises say Pushups and Squats and have a standard minimum for the day i.e. i started with 10 a day. The goal here is to do them with good form (full range of motion and bracing the core) and create consistency and a habit. I usually do them while watching TV, so when the ad breaks are on i have about 5 mins to do the exercises and concentrate souly on them.
