It does remind me of sight reading for my drum music in school! I think it’s kinda a fun way to even teach kids a little about sight reading. Obviously it’s not a direct parallel but it does it in a really fun way! 😃
Definitely some rhythm clapping practice wound be helpful. As someone who has many years experience with rhythm practice and timing from music etc, here are my tips that help me nail timing: 1. Count out loud! Once you know the time signature (e.g 4/4 is beats of four, 3/4 would be a waltz, 6/8 would be two triplets (literally say the word triplet like tri-pl-et) you can start counting along. 2. The in between beats - not just 1, 2, 3, 4, but 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &. HUGE difference in timing, especially when an entry is off beat or syncopated (the really tough one!). If 1 you have 4 beats a cycle, and each beat is divided not in halves but by 4, then you can say 1-e-&-a 2-e-&-a 3-e-&-a 4-e-&-a 3. It seems to sometimes be a call & reply pattern -that is, they first demonstrate the rhythm one or two bars (so 1-2 full 4 beat cycles) prior to expecting you to reply with the same pattern (which lines up with the percussion for help). 4. If you are clapping along as practice to a rhythm, don’t do a full big applause clap as you will tire too quickly. Instead, only tap your finger tips in your palms so you can more readily pick up speed. 5. Listen to the bass. It will almost always lead the direction of the beat. & indicate even when there might be changes in timing. 6. Pearce sometimes doing two overlapping/conflicting rhythms. First start with one, then practice the second, then put together. 7. If you are interested in just getting better at rhythm in general, learn how to at least read basic rhythmic notation (not pitch). The main hitters are whole notes (hold for 4), half notes (hold for two), quarter notes (hold for one), eighth notes (hold for 1/2 “&”), sixteenth notes (hold for 1/4 “e”). Also learn their REST counterparts. I recommend this as it will not only help you visualize in your brain what’s happening. 7. There are “sight reading” rhythm books out there. For daily practice, you’d pick a little sample rhythm, take 20-30 seconds to skim it over, then go for it! You could also practice ear by listening to a tune and couple times, then pausing & replicating yourself. I’d recommend recording yourself as you can see better afterwards where you made mistakes. Ok! Sorry for the music dump! If you are more interested in learning about basic music theory let me know! Never too late to learn. Although a large part of it is just practice. All the best. :)
Hey guys, I love your videos so much and wish I could make it to a live stream. I just wanted to say something from a musicians point of view, if you tried subdividing through each beat it makes it easier to keep track on where you are in the measure. The beats can be counted in 4/4 time which is extremely easy to keep count in, just subdivide as “1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and”, counting the measured this way will allow you too hit the off beats without having to think about it to much. It also helps with counting the faster beats. Also on the baseball level if you hold on that “3 and” and then swing on four it’ll be the perfect shot. Also if you get lost with the counting the baseball level always starts on one and ends on four. I hope this helped. Once again I love your videos, you guys always make my day, and I hope that this advise helps.
you should play Spiritfarer! Its a co-op or single player game about this girl and her cat and they take spirits on their boat and help them to the ends of their lives
As a little Rythim fan, i loved this! I started shaking my leg to the beat, why? Cause that’s what i do I got in my fluffy blanket and let the music scratch my brain!
So happy to see you guys play this game! I saw it randomly on Instagram and totally fell in love. "The past" is my favorite, I think it has the best music!
this game is really fun to drum along to! i got out my sticks and everything, i like playing the tempo with one hand and the beats with the other! super great practice.
This is so cool, i love the music so much. But its haaaard 😅 that WORK dream is insane (too real to be funny)! Evan taking the video of Katelyn with the super stressed face 😅
i was advertising your channel on Bob Ross's youtube channel livestream this morning. They showed the recordings that you guys used for your fun recreations.
i would love to see yall try to play a Rhythm Heaven game! i think yall would love it, the little characters are so cute and the gameplay is so fun but theyre only playable on wii, ds, or wiiU, so im not sure its practical as far as setting up the game to stream.
The time one they were counting up to six or something- I just do it by thinking 1 - 2 - 3 and 4 (Hold down on the “and” then release on the next beat) but sometimes there will also be a 1 and 2 - 3 and 4 but I think that’s the easiest way to do it (at least for me) :D
I remember I once had a chance to do Guitar Hero - didn't do too bad. The kid that had the game (we were at the house for a work Christmas party) wondered how I did so good on my first try. I just said I 'color coded' my fingers so I did it by color rather than finger. // The two I had a hard time doing with you were the 'jumping from key to key' and the pendulum/eye' ones.
People mention Beat Saber and WarioWare, but not Rhythm Heaven (from the WarioWare team). This is a direct inspiration, including the Remix stage after each set of four games.
I swear I'm having the weirdest deja vu. I could have sworn y'all played this ages ago. Like i ignored this recommendation until now cause I thought it was an older video haha
Heeey guys♡ have y'all heard of "KarmaFlow: the rock opera" ? it would be sooooo cool if u played it! it's a mix of Journey with this one rhythm game + a lil disney musical in the mix with a twist of rock/electronic hahahahahahaa with cute abstract characters, a lil platforming, and "musical ambient exploration" like this one where you ''build the music'' as you go but there you can go adventuring in pretty forests, encounter creepy creatures you have powers -musical powers hahaa-, while uncovering the game story just like Journey, it's sooo pretty and relaxing and there's sooooo many awesome famous bands that are part of the soundtrack i think y'all would enjoy a lot! >u< ♡
I thought I was gonna slay this game cause I play in a band and have over 20 years of experience in music, never had a problem with staying on the beat. Let me tell you this game is more difficult than it looks!
you guys should play Friday Night Funkin it is also a rhythem game! It's about a guy and his girlfriend. And the boyfriend does rap battles against other characters! I think you would like it!!
I love both Katelyn and Evan but I think all of us women have got to bow down to the amount of patience that Katelyn has with Evan. His complete inability to remain quiet or sit still when she is trying to concentrate would drive me absolutely mad. He keeps saying that he doesn't want to distract her but then half a second later he is either laughing, talking or has his arms flying all over the place... Like I said I love him to death but its like being married to a 2 year old lol
for the baseball one: Don't listen to the woosh. Stay concentrated on the beat. It is on the "and" of the third (sometimes the second) beat. one two three AND FOR: press on the AND, release on the FOUR.
I have rhythm, I have no reflexes, lol. I'd have bombed this game, so it's nice to watch someone else rock it. Only minus was the music that's off key. Why is it so popular?! 😤
i HATED this game because you had to click so far ahead of the beat.... no matter how much i calibrated it, i still had to click ahead of the actual beat to win the game. i quit so quickly because i was so stress and confused lmao
I think anyone who has sight read music a lot would find this easy. That’s what this reminded me of…many days of violin and flute practice lol
It does remind me of sight reading for my drum music in school! I think it’s kinda a fun way to even teach kids a little about sight reading. Obviously it’s not a direct parallel but it does it in a really fun way! 😃
Bongo
Now I’m gonna pick my viola up lol
I’m in choir and this looks rly easy
Especially after French horn and having to count rests or EVERYONE knows you miscounted 😅
Kaitlyn is such a left brain thinker 😂
She passed a music course on muscle memory alone haha

This is awesome to read, thanks a lot.❤
50:00 Evan videoing Katelyn stressing over the work one and then immediately dancing was too much for me 😂😂😂
I didn’t even notice 😂
"A chill, cozy game..."
[2 minutes later]
"AAAHHH, this is stress!"
You know, just the usual, chaos filled Evan & Katelyn experience!
The songs are still echoing in my head since yesterday
the songs are soooooo good
i literally have the vast majority of this soundtrack on my brain scratchy playlist because they're just so good

This is just like Rhythm Heaven!!! I loved that game and I would love to play this one 😄
Anyone else remember Rhythm Heaven?? I played it on the Nintendo DS and I swear this is very very similar. I’d love to see E&K play it!!!
Saaamee I still play it sometimes haha
I love these sort of games so happy you played one ! 😁😊
we had so much fun!
29:26 is what I imagine an ADHD brain to be.
Feels accurate
My music teacher made us play this game and it was so great and fun , it's honestly nostalgic watching this
As a little Rythim fan, i loved this! I started shaking my leg to the beat, why? Cause that’s what i do
I got in my fluffy blanket and let the music scratch my brain!
So happy to see you guys play this game! I saw it randomly on Instagram and totally fell in love. "The past" is my favorite, I think it has the best music!
Quaquaversal ADJECTIVE
1. Going off in all directions from the center.
2. (Astronomy) Dipping toward a center in all directions
If you liked the second alien one, you would love Ragnarock. It's VR and you play drums to Viking music.
Ragnarock is very fun
Haha, i started grabbing my pencil and playing along! (my homework remains undone, but my longing to play this game has increased)
much love :3
I love that you guys have been playing a lot of chill games lately! Super fun… I mean chill 🤪
Been having insomnia lately and hearing y'all play this game helped put me right to sleep, you guys give me chaotic peace THANK YOU😂❤
😮 definitely need to see you play this again! That was awesome
1:50 Has Evan been taking rhythm classes in secret to prank Katelyn?? That was shocking.
Can we just take a second and appreciate the background music of the first section? It’s so calming, yet catchy
BRUH I PULLED THIS UP TO PLAY IN THE BACKGROUND AND THEY CALLED ME OUT LOL 0:04
LMAOOO him having to read the beat has me so weak 4:59
I’m wishing I was there live. They keep relying on visual cues when the game is so much easier off of Audio Cues! Like the time / baseball level
this game is really fun to drum along to! i got out my sticks and everything, i like playing the tempo with one hand and the beats with the other! super great practice.
This was so cute! I loved the music, was so happy to find the soundtrack on Spotify 😁
This was so fun to watch and listen to, the music was great
This is so cool, i love the music so much. But its haaaard 😅 that WORK dream is insane (too real to be funny)! Evan taking the video of Katelyn with the super stressed face 😅
You guys should play rhythm heaven I think you will like it
i was advertising your channel on Bob Ross's youtube channel livestream this morning. They showed the recordings that you guys used for your fun recreations.
Im just pushing the buttons on my computer to play along, I’ve played piano all my life so I couldn’t resist 😂😅
i would love to see yall try to play a Rhythm Heaven game! i think yall would love it, the little characters are so cute and the gameplay is so fun but theyre only playable on wii, ds, or wiiU, so im not sure its practical as far as setting up the game to stream.
Theres good emulators, I mean very legal ways to stream them from pc
@@vogelvrouw oh yeah that’s so true!!! I forgot about those very legal ways! I totally think they should do that! I love rhythm heaven!
i walked away from my laptop when that alarm went off at 1:07:03, and it freaked me out so bad! lol
Can you guys play unraveled two? Please? 🙏
I’m only 25 minutes in and this stream is so funny already I’m actually hype right now
I love how in the gaming one he has ps4, ps5 and Xbox one series x
The time one they were counting up to six or something- I just do it by thinking
1 - 2 - 3 and 4 (Hold down on the “and” then release on the next beat)
but sometimes there will also be a
1 and 2 - 3 and 4
but I think that’s the easiest way to do it (at least for me) :D
It definitely seems like the both of you were using your kinesthetic auditory and visual learning skills to learn how to play this game
the circle in the center is at the same spot as the youtube play button, very satisfying =)
i keep seeing shorts on "the past" level and one on "stress" and now i know what game its from!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!
It was really fun to listen to yall play this while scrubbing my bathroom 😆 Scrub! Scrub-scrub! Scruub! Scrub-scrub!
I'm so glad that you played this game, because it looked interesting but now I am positive that I could *never* play it!
Your videos and streams are so chill i love it
I played piano for a while but I could never get multitasking down where I played with both hands at the same time
As a band member, I was just in my head counting off measures lol
I remember I once had a chance to do Guitar Hero - didn't do too bad. The kid that had the game (we were at the house for a work Christmas party) wondered how I did so good on my first try. I just said I 'color coded' my fingers so I did it by color rather than finger. // The two I had a hard time doing with you were the 'jumping from key to key' and the pendulum/eye' ones.
This really does work to make you sleepy (at least it does when watching instead of playing)
People mention Beat Saber and WarioWare, but not Rhythm Heaven (from the WarioWare team). This is a direct inspiration, including the Remix stage after each set of four games.
"Huh, Human Music. I like it!" -Jerry
I swear I'm having the weirdest deja vu. I could have sworn y'all played this ages ago. Like i ignored this recommendation until now cause I thought it was an older video haha
How about you try playing fire watch? I think you guys would love it and that you would absolutely knock it out of the park :D
Finally, my sight reading can come in handy 🙏🏼
Its like rythm heaven fever but pastel
Every single percussionist watching like, hold up, watch this
Band kids would love this as one myself ❤😂
2:16:07 reminds me of that painting
PLEASE MORE DEMONTOLOGIST I NEEEEEEED ITS MY LIFE SUPPORT
I know this is a year later, but this game would be interesting if you could do it with a DDR mat.
Heeey guys♡ have y'all heard of "KarmaFlow: the rock opera" ?

♡
I used to play a game like this in my Nintendo, it was called Rhythm Paradise (Or Rhythm Heaven)
I thought I was gonna slay this game cause I play in a band and have over 20 years of experience in music, never had a problem with staying on the beat. Let me tell you this game is more difficult than it looks!
Watching replay 13 days later... I just smacked my screen thinking y'alls mouse pointer on your screen was a dang fruit fly on my screen...
I thought some of these levels were easy when I played but then I saw everyone play and it seemed much harder then
I watched this live ❤
I can't stop myself from saying 1+2+3+4+ on all of these ones
I bought the game cause of you btw you should try slime rancher 2 if you havent already
You guys should play Figment!
This is what stimming looks and feeling like haha 😅
Omg this is too stressful for me to watch 😆😆
This reminds me so much of rhythm heaven fever
absolutely lovely ! it did make me fall asleep tho haha
I just took an edible so I’m ready to hunker down and enjoy 🥰
Reminds me a lot of Rhythm Heaven
you guys should play Friday Night Funkin it is also a rhythem game! It's about a guy and his girlfriend. And the boyfriend does rap battles against other characters! I think you would like it!!
I bought the game! It is so much fun. I love these types of games.

melatonin, more like serotonin for my depressed ass
tell me you arent a band kid without telling me you arent a band kid
you should get some musicians and music people cause that know rhythm from the inside out
I kinda wanna see them play project diva
Have you ever played rhythm heaven?
This is rithm heaven
Pretty much just a revamped version of rhythm heaven, so if you liked this, check out those older games!!
Did anyone else try to do it with them in the air for no reason whatsoever?
I have rhythm, I have no reflexes, lol. I'd have bombed this game, so it's nice to watch someone else rock it. Only minus was the music that's off key. Why is it so popular?! 😤
BRO the person looks like Marco from star vs the force of evil 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮🙄💀💀💀💀💀💀
Hi guys I just want to let you know that my birthday is 9 days away I'll be 33 and I hope you guys have a great day 🙂
Does anyone know if this is on Xbox?
Maaaaaaan... As a drummer, watching you guys play this is giving me a stress headache.🤕
Sorry, I just can't.
I use melatonin to fall asleep
Relaxing?
This looks like torture.
I'm a musician and I thought this game would be easy for me, I only did marginally better than the two of you
I wonder if this improves your rhythm skills.
i wanna see them try friday night funkin lol
i HATED this game because you had to click so far ahead of the beat.... no matter how much i calibrated it, i still had to click ahead of the actual beat to win the game. i quit so quickly because i was so stress and confused lmao
I’m this video is kind of scary like like this level is kind of scary just one person if you’re reading this, I will love you
