Even if I was rich, I will still make my kid get a job and learn the value of hard work and a dollar. I'll help along the way but, not too much. Just enough.
Dude Wazap same, if it wasnt for my poor upbringing, id never appreciate what i have now. Thats really what it is though learn to be GRATEFUL. These chicks lack that
It is nice that the mom admits its their fault for raising a brat though, instead of being a total airhead and being like "i dont know how she turned out this way" like some parents do
I've never gotten an allowance in my life. I got my first job at 14 and bought all my own stuff. Sorry Geo the rest of the room is right. You HAVE to get a job like janitor, cashier or something like this to really really learn the value of hard work.
I disagree. You don't have to get a job as a janitor, cashier or anything of that kind to learn the value of hard work. It's all about good parenting. Sure, the experience will help you understand the struggle more deeply, but I grew up middle class my whole life and I never had the desire to spend money on fancy clothes and accessories.
I got my first job at 14, and my mom would give me $20 every other week, till I was 16, which is when I graduated. If your parents bought you your first car (or helped), or give you things the average kid doesn't get, appreciate it, y'all are truly lucky. Stay humble y'all.
Same. My dad got me my 1st car but wasn't really mine. Had to share and pay what I needed to but not once was i ever not grateful. And because he did get it for me my grades are perfect and I don't disobey them.
Charlieswag9000 in some states in the U.S. the minimum age you can start working is 13. However, the pickings are VERY limited because there are so many rules attached to it. I got my first job at 14. However, I didn't get to keep the money or the the choice to keep it Or spend it. My adopted mother took it all. So I'm slightly different than maybe the OC. Hell, I'm 23 now and I'm JUST starting to finally get a handle on saving and such. It doesn't mean I'm spoiled, far from it. I guess it just took me longer to really appreciate the dollar. Anyways, just wanted to throw that in.
Bob Muthagoicvjghm that's alot of money and judging by the new car he just bought himself and jess its obvious hes bringing home big bank...me and my guy are just making ends meet after buying our cheap ass home lol
don’t believe what the internet said lol. Joe mentioned his net worth in one of his vlogs, i forgot what it was called but i think he said 200k edit: he said he was part of the top 5% incomers of the nation so around 200k+. but i do agree tho, he shouldn’t be calling himself peasant
Geo's idea isn't entirely invalid way of raising her child with values. My parents were counting pennies to make it by, but they didn't want me to work until I was out of high school (ideally out of college). They wanted me to focus in school, and not worry about the additional hours stressing that could potentially affect my education. I still volunteered, as many hours that other kids were working at fast food places/ retail. Here I am, with a college degree working in a career of choice (getting paid greatly for it). Not once, do I feel I understand less "struggles" in life. I lived it through my parents, I saw them working 14-16 hour days, then working more when they get home. I never complained about not having anything. My parents said if they had a lot of money, they still would have raised me without having to work until after college... it's how the parents choose to spend the money. Mind you, my parents will not pay me to do chores. Nonetheless give me $6000 spending money lol.
It also really depends on the kid themselves. Some kids become irresponsible when they don't take initiative in certain things like volunteer work (as u said). I've done my fair share in those things since I involved myself in service clubs and signed up to just volunteer on whatever's suggested by the school. I'd like to think that I'm partially responsible for making the person that I am now, besides my parents. I guess basically, people have their own self-responsibility, and certain kids don't always take it up to themselves to improve on that skill. That's why it's almost kind of a safe bet to have your kids work when they're able to.
she has a yt channel and after appearing on the dr phil show her channel got more attention and she was able to buy her mom a chanel purse lmao. pretty sure they went on the show for clout but whateva she got that yt $ now..
zizzle obviously you can just tell I don’t even think the mum cares about giving her money cos them looks likes she actually enjoys buying her stuff and providing that lifestyle for her they just wanted the publicity so they can venture from that 💸💸
This is all of her Mom's fault. I mean she gives her daughter all of this money and spoils her to the brim. Of course she is going to be entitled and spoiled. That's how she was raised. Considering that her Mom calls her a brat shows how strained their relationship is. She should have cancelled her allowance WAY before she turned 15. And bringing her on this show makes it worse because now she is going to be laughingstock.
A lot of people are hating on geo and saying that taika will grow up to be an entitled kid. But you DO NOT need to work to know the value of money or the value of hard work. Working at a young age does not mean you will know how to handle your money either. For geo maybe school/ education is more important for her than her kid getting a job at 15. Bart and geo are both financially well off and for her she doesn’t see why her kid has to work if she can provide. The way you make an entitled kid does not come from whether you make them get a job or not but how you raise them. Even if a kid gets a job it does not guarantee that they will learn that job=responsibility. The worst thing you can do is let a kid get a job when they equate money=belongings. They see money as a way to get what they want. They do not see it as a way to pay off and survive. it doesn’t matter if they got jobs as kids if they’re still struggling with money as adults, like their parents did.
Its the rare person who can learn from being told. Its like that saying a wise man learns from others mistakes a fool learns from this own and an idiot never learns or some shit like that.
Don't be stupid, her education is her priority at that age. Doing good in academics is her job and it also isn't easy, it takes work just not the same kind you all have in mind.
John that is extremely wrong. I never worked for it but I'm not entitled and I definitely know the value of money. Knowledge never happens in way or form. You should know that
Man I did chores and took care of all my brothers, got beat by them, yelled at by my Mom, asked for no money, and still got nothing. Even in college my parents don't pay for tuition! I am grateful for what I get it's not that i'm not. I'm a little salty because I started my own college fund at 12 and my Mom would take that money, but i'm MORE salty at these kids who have so much and still want more!
Watching jk news always makes my day. Like no matter what I’ll always end up laughing at what they can come up with. It never fails especially David’s comments.
I appreciate that I am not spoiled!!! This person said that ‘it’s so much work’ , that what you get for being spoiled. I really like the return I get from putting the effort in. I know my strengths & weaknesses.
@@cjbossin97 I smell bullshit. Food, electricity, all the things that are necessary for life are not something to be grateful for. They are for granted, a part of life, not to be noticed, not to be cared about, not to be worried about. However, if you get something that's not necessary to live, that's enough to be grateful for.
yes, experience is really important to make people learn proper values and work ethics. ive been in and out of hospitals for over a decade and its been an emotional rollercoaster. school is so important now, for me to succeed and i will work hard as much as i can to give back to my parents for everything theyve done :)
I watched a follow up video, and since being on the show, her allowance has been raised back up. She even got the $200,000 G Wagon she wanted, it's literally sitting in her driveway collecting dust because she can't drive yet...
Clinical Care Techs (or Nursing Aids) gets like $900+ per pay period (more of course if you count the tax I took out). RN's get 2x that amount depending on Hospital and Agency 4 Year Degree course barely reach $5000 a month. All I can say, this Teen deserves nothing.
I never got an allowance. If I wanted money, I had to actually do work around the house, and even then I only got around $5-20. But you know what? It taught me how to work, how to be appreciative, and how to be humble.
The only time I ever got an allowance was when I was in grade school for straight A's on report cards - $10-20 each time for a few years, and even _that_ was like winning the lottery at that age. Looking back on it, my family has never been super well off, so even if it wasn't a lot, I realize I was spoiled then. I can't even imagine being this girl. She's gonna have some serious problems growing up and realizing she actually has to work for her money.
I loved working, my first job at 16, I worked as many shifts I could during the summer and I made bank that year. I felt so good going out and learning sh*t. Making my own money to get the things I want instead of asking my parents for money we don’t have
I agree with them. My parents are the first people in their respective families to actually rise up to middle class, so they don’t believe in allowances.
As a kid, I had to convince my Asian parents to give me an allowance. Ya know what it was? $20 a month. Still, my dad was very considerate when we asked him to buy us stuff.
After I graduated last year and went to a technical school I found out that your grades really didn’t mean anything, keep ok grades but don’t stress yourself out about it
Just wow!. I mean I grew up comfortable middle class and in the 90's and early 2000's my allowance was $1 a week (and I had to do chores to earn that, and I saved the money up to buy real things), I had to earn money to buy myself video games, when I bought an x-box, I had to earn that money. I remember my first "business" of checking peoples mail, and checking in on their houses in my neighborhood when they went on vacation. That was one profitable summer for a 10 year old. I worked my older teen years as a lifeguard, etc, and other jobs to earn money. My parents could afford to give me more, but I thank them every day they taught me the lesson of earning your money, saving, and planning and strategizing what I wanted to buy, etc. Lessons I keep till today. Probably the only thing they really spent money on was sending me to private school for a better education, and my college. Which taught me what was really important in life with spending money. And my parents earned well, but lived simple. I know if I become rich, I will take what they taught me and pass it on to my kids, and I knew rich kids whose parents did not spoil them and raised them to earn money and value labor
I had an allowance, but it matched my age ($10 at age 10) and was split into 3 buckets "College", "Saving" and "spending"... spending was for candy and stuff while saving was for a scooter or a video game or something... It was all about teaching us how to handle money... All my friends had chores and such, but we were just expected to help out because it is our house too...
I am 13 years old at the moment and I began working in November of 2018 and I still work to this day (May 20, 2019). My parents own a restaurant and that's the only reason I would work there. I did get paid hourly since my parents treated me like their actual employee. The only downside is that I work 13 hours a day 6 days a week and my only day off is Monday which I spend doing chores and my studies since I do online school. I might collect and save my money but my parents won't let me spend it until they think I need it.
I feel guilt when my parents give me luxurious things idk i feel like they’ve given me so much yknow, literally paying for every single thing i own, that’s more than enough to me 🤷🏻♀️
My allowance is being able to live and eat at my parents house for free 🙄
Vanessa R Sounds about right. The way it should be.

5:25 Yoshikage Kira is that you?
I had an allowance, but it matched my age ($10 at age 10) and was split into 3 buckets "College", "Saving" and "spending"... spending was for candy and stuff while saving was for a scooter or a video game or something... It was all about teaching us how to handle money... All my friends had chores and such, but we were just expected to help out because it is our house too...
I learn so many good lessons from these like life stuff and what not
I am 13 years old at the moment and I began working in November of 2018 and I still work to this day (May 20, 2019).
Well thank you, David. People said I look like the Mona Lisa. lmao

Her allowance at 1000 is basically my current pay.
I sometimes had an allowance, then there were some different chore systems.
