I don't think that he should owe her a cent. He paid for her private attorney that withdrew from the case. In doing so, Brian lost his house to foreclosure, has a ton of judgements against him from creditors and still has to provide for their son. The man has paid her all that he should ever owe her. She wasn't much of a mother when she was free, she even less of a mother now
If, god willing she is convicted, he will get the satisfaction of having the FINAL word, and hopefully will tell her how it is and exactly what she is. A failure.
100%, the whole thing was sickening but that was goose bump levels of horror. She knew he would die and wanted him to die. She knew someone would die in a suitcase after she had been told that by child protection services when she had put her son in a suitcase.
The whole case is the video, I have felt this way since this crime was published to UA-cam. Good job standing up and saying it. She should plea right now!!!!
Too late! They offered her a sweetheart deal and her exact words when offered were "REJECT"! With time served and good behavior, she would have been out in 6.5 years. Now it's a MINIMUM of 23.5 and the judge can give her more or even LIFE. She's not a very smart woman. Her narcissism would not allow her to do the smart thing.
Trying to stay alive is an overt act? Seriously that's crazy. So he has to die in that suitcase (which he did). Then in her own words she says she hit those fingers with a baseball bat! Plus if you listen to the audio on the video she filmed never once does he threaten her at all. She's clearly the aggressor then.. she was so afraid for her life she went to bed? If that's self defense in any way shape or form or the actions of any battered spouse ever then the law is an ass.
Here is an idea. If Sarah Boone is found not guilty, instead of alimony, and depending on Brian Boone for support, GET A FRIGGIN JOB !!!!! Quit putting puzzles together, painting, and playing hide and seek. And quit drinking so damn much.

I'm a high school English teacher, and Edgar Allen Poe was always a unit I taught in October. My students loved his poetry and short stories. Some of the stories were difficult even for me. I think maybe "The Cask of Amontillado" was the most scary. It's about a man who plots to get even with someone he despises. He learns the man's weakness for a certain kind of wine, Amontillado. He lures the man into a catacombs under his home and buries him alive. He has planned it carefully to maximize the fear, helplessness, and agony. He buries him in a brick coffin over many hours. He gets away with it. Sarah Boone's victim was locked in that suitcase for over 11 hours. She is diabolical. Anyone who did that would have to be. I hope this trial is able to make this man's torture and death real enough to convict her of what the state has charged her with. Poe was a dark genius and one of the greatest story tellers who ever lived. As a native Maryland, I have visited his home and the Baltimore street where he died. It is still creepy. Happy Halloween LYK members! 🎃
Hi there! I'm a Marylander! I live in Annapolis, but I lived in BMore city for 13 years. Poe was an absolute genius and a treasure to Baltimore. I've visited his home too. There was a restaurant in my neighborhood called The Annabelle Lee. It's still there. A small place but great food. Do you still live in MD?
The video of him pleading to Sarah he couldn't breath will seal her fate. She beat him with a bat while he was trapped inside and her laughing and calling him stupid show she deliberately wanted to cause him harm.
Exactly! I hope they really drive it home for the jury how horrific it was. It was hours upon hours of torture. It's horrific. She had every opportunity to let him out and didn't.
Started with OJ and have never looked back…found you, Peter, with the Depp trial and have watched, along with others, ever since! I’ve never disliked anything you’ve said or disagreed with your opinion, and you are the only one that falls into that category…you couldn’t be fairer or kinder…true gentleman and an asset to your profession!
SAME!!!! OJ's bronco chase peaked my interest at age 10! Then followed the trial best I could at my young age and was obsessed with America's most wanted and other true crime stuff and here I am 30 years later fully addicted to true crime and how the justice system works. I also agree about Peter! He is very professional and provides another viewpoint!
It totally makes sense given my theory that he pulled the suitcase out to pack because he was finally seeing the extent of the abuse. Most likely because as a condition of his probation, was making an effort to cut back/stop drinking. I believe she saw the suitcase, snapped, and attacked him with the bat. I absolutely believe he was unconscious when she put him in the suitcase but that she thought he was dead, AND that she called Brian that night to ask him to get rid of the suitcase. Luckily for him, she was too drunk to understand. I also think she tried to ask him the next day too, and that the hide and seek story was a panicked, on-the-spot idea she didn't fully think through.
The case that got me into True Crime was State Vs Louise Woodward in 1997. An au pair from UK who went to look after a baby in Massachusetts and was convicted (later quashed) of shaking baby Matthew Eappen and causing his death. She was barely 18 and i still remember how young and scared she looked. The trial was televised and was one of the few trials that was shown in full and watched by almost everyone in the UK. We dont do cameras in UK courts and US trials rarely garner that level of interest. It was huge here at the time and i myself was still quite young. I always felt something wasnt right about her being convicted and lo and behold, decades later it was quashed and found to have been caused by an accident the parent witheld from authorities. I was one of only a few who believed she didnt do it and im kinda happy to find that my gut instinct was right. My opinion was of course written off by all as a detriment of my young age. 🤷♀️
Agreed I never believed she did it, I think maybe his big brother hit him over the head with something, however I never once saw his parents cry or even looking sad ….
The judge set her free, she was found guilty. I thought she was way too young and inexperienced to have 2 small children alone 24/7 the parents were doctors --shame on them
That case proves we need to do away jury trials. The defense fought to have lesser included charges withheld thinking no way they convict her of murder. Judge Zobel allowed that to happen. Well the jury convicted her. Then the judge threw out the verdict and instilled a not guilty. So I ask why have jury trials if judges can do that. No point in them. Let’s stop wasting peoples time and only go with bench trials.
I almost wonder if Owen’s was strategically baiting the State to present this ‘Opening’ so that Sarah could hear for herself exactly ‘how this is going to go down’ so that she can weigh the plea offer once again?
I'm sure he wanted Sarah to hear the case so she can "adjust" her testimony once again, but even if he hopes she'll reconsider the plea deal, I think shes too narcissistic to take it. She believes she will win.
@@cranken72 I dont know for sure, but if she agreed to plead guilty, I imagine the state would take it and save a whole lot of $$$. From what Peter said a few videos back, the plea deal is often still on the table even after the trial starts.
15 was offered and rejected. If she now says I’d like a deal the state can say now it’s 20or more. Just because it’s offered once doesn’t mean it’s always an offer. It was rejected. So anything might now be on the table.

It just proves how the people who’ve been lucky enough to find you come running when your videos arrive!!
SN acts like Lead Counsel at the table. Did anyone remind her that she is facing serious jail time? Its time for her to zip it and listen to real lawyers. Take the deal and have time to go to college and law school. You could even dress up and wear jewelry. You may even get your alimony. Don’t take the deal and maybe you can play jail lawyer for chips and noodles, but your wardrobe will be scrubs and iron chains. You play smart SB. It’s time to be smart. As for me, i like the idea of Brian not paying alimony to a ward of the state with no bills and child support to an inmate with no children.
Deals off the table according to the stream I watched today with EDB. All of these lawtubers saying she can take the deal up until trial are wrong. The deal was refused officially in court to Judge Kraynik. The best she could do is plea to the court for 22.5 years, the minimum sentence but I don’t think she’s gonna do that at this point in time. Anyway I asked this question today and got my answer.
Yes please on the Menendez brothers. Great coverage recap on Boone as per usual Peter. The more and more I hear the more I think she should have taken the plea.

My dad was called for jury duty many times but never served. He always answered their questions about being unbiased by saying “they wouldn’t be here if they weren’t guilty…” He was a child during WWII. Things are different now but he believed it with all his heart.
I think that’s how many people feel who have seen that video of her but I think we are still able to go into a trial with opinions but open to the idea that maybe there is other evidence that will come out that may cone to a different conclusion at the end.
I think Sarah is all about Vengeance. She was paying Jorge back for real or imagined wrongs he did her. It's precisely what she did to her many lawyers. She tried to ruin their reputations and harm them as much as she could with her venomous, insulting letters to the judge, because they didn't meet her ludicrous expectations.

What got me into true crime? I was watching Perry Mason with my mom in the 1960’s. It was the closest thing available since we had no social media other than Walter Cronkite or local newspapers.
Unless there is evidence no one should be allowed to accuse another of sexual assault/abuse as a defense. It destroys the lives of those used as the excuse just like was done to Casey Antonys father. It is disgusting.
Why be so obnoxious? What’s that about? Have you only seen a courtroom from the defendant’s perspective? Turn around next time. It’s a small courtroom, especially for a major felony case. Perhaps you should follow your own advice…

I think because of the level of drunkenness of Sarah I think 2nd degree was more appropriate. We can see it from here the malice murder but proving it beyond a reasonable doubt is another thing. And with the level of sadistic depravity I am sure a guilty verdict will not mean the lowest level of punishment #JusticeForJorge
I truly appreciate this channel after visiting others because they more coverage. It's beautiful how Peter allows for nuance. It lets people better see the complex character of Sarah Boone. It's shocking that there are attorney-run channels that verbally root for prosecution motions and emotionally respond to the defense doing their best under truly rare circumstances.
Peter I love your video and I love how balanced and intelligent you are, it’s a sign of many years experience and I hope I can get there, I’m many years your jr. For the time being, my petty take: it’s the little things her lawyers do that piss me off because I know they’re not little for those under pressure in this case. Like sending 100+ JPG pages instead of a pdf. It’s so hard when people disclose documents in that form, I wouldn’t ever do that to an opponent ahead of a civil hearing let alone trial 💀 Don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely not suggesting I can do what they’re doing. Just that the State is right to be pissed.

I got into true crime way back to the Boston Strangler. We also had Michigan's Oakland County child K'ller case nearby where one was found about a half mile from our house, and still unsolved. Also Michigans Ann Arbor/ Ypsilanti Coed m#rders by John Norman Collins who's still in prison here. Manson , Bundy. It was some pretty wild years back then so I've been intrigued by the psychopathy of serial unalivers. Not a lot was known about it back then. I just continued from there.
The Family Court judge got reamed out by SB via her letters. He said words to the effect that, Look. You're incarcerated. She should have to pay back all the legal expenses paid by taxpayers too!!!
Geezus it seems like fr fr nobody in this damn country know or care that prisons are for profit corporations. They get paid only if people are incarcerated. What kind of bias do you think that could cause?
I don’t agree on him paying alimony at all. She’s a drunk who spends her time in a toxic relationship and bailing out her boyfriend. She’s the least deserving of payment from anyone
She was young enough to find work…..her actions made her lose her jobs not Brian….he shouldn’t owe her alimony at all
Even if she is released. She doesn't deserve alimony. He has custody of the kid. Say she is out of prison. How is that fair?
Alimony shouldn't even exist with anyone able to work.
I don't think that he should owe her a cent. He paid for her private attorney that withdrew from the case. In doing so, Brian lost his house to foreclosure, has a ton of judgements against him from creditors and still has to provide for their son. The man has paid her all that he should ever owe her. She wasn't much of a mother when she was free, she even less of a mother now
. Why should she work when she can get Brian to meet all her needs?
First Sara representing herself and now this lawyer. The Judge is going to need Counceling after this trial.
So true! He is amazing, however!
He may want to retire, poor guy.
IDT he’ll need counseling, I think he’ll need a - vacation 🎉🎉🎉 😆!!!!!
If, god willing she is convicted, he will get the satisfaction of having the FINAL word, and hopefully will tell her how it is and exactly what she is. A failure.
I agree Owen’s is not the best…but he is free!!! However, I think he would have been better off with one of the court appointed lawyers.
The creepiest thing to me was to hear she said “Shhhh” thats horror movie stuff
I agree!
Chilling…
Christy Durbin, OMG, OMG, OMG 😲!!!!! U r SOO right, perfect analogy 🫢🤯!!!!
100%, the whole thing was sickening but that was goose bump levels of horror. She knew he would die and wanted him to die. She knew someone would die in a suitcase after she had been told that by child protection services when she had put her son in a suitcase.
@@christydurbin9277 yup!!!
@@micheledematteis2072the plea could still be on the table. They can even make pleas after a verdict.
The plea is disgusting. She should never have been offered the plea. It's a slap on the wrist. he SUFFERED bcuz of her.
The law IS an ass, regardless 😊
Here is an idea. If Sarah Boone is found not guilty, instead of alimony, and depending on Brian Boone for support, GET A FRIGGIN JOB !!!!! Quit putting puzzles together, painting, and playing hide and seek. And quit drinking so damn much.
She should teach English with that advance vocabulary she uses.
Well, her painting/ Puzzle making/hide and seek Buddy, is DEAD ! Unless Brian decides to support her, she will need to get a Job, it will be interesting to see if she gets evicted
@@Mickey-rd5uoI highly doubt after 5 years in jail that she still has that townhouse to get evicted from

I remember that story from English literature class in 1973. Still love to revisit it over the years.
Exactly! I hope they really drive it home for the jury how horrific it was. It was hours upon hours of torture. It's horrific. She had every opportunity to let him out and didn't.
21:55 😮 it blows my mind that she could appeal on a lack of a continuance.... after almost 5 years of her doing everything she can to draw this out!

I’ve never disliked anything you’ve said or disagreed with your opinion, and you are the only one that falls into that category…you couldn’t be fairer or kinder…true gentleman and an asset to your profession!

Then followed the trial best I could at my young age and was obsessed with America's most wanted and other true crime stuff and here I am 30 years later fully addicted to true crime and how the justice system works. I also agree about Peter! He is very professional and provides another viewpoint!
@@hollypgh84the oj trial had me hooked too!
100% agree with you, that's how I think it happened as well
Her childish sense of entitlement by asking for snacks is very telling.

I thought she was way too young and inexperienced to have 2 small children alone 24/7 the parents were doctors --shame on them
Wow.. I followed this case on court tv.. I live on cape cod… one of my first Menendez was prior to Woodward. ❤
From what Peter said a few videos back, the plea deal is often still on the table even after the trial starts.
i think that ship has sailed
They need to stop trying to get her to plea. She deserves life in prison!
15 was offered and rejected. If she now says I’d like a deal the state can say now it’s 20or more. Just because it’s offered once doesn’t mean it’s always an offer. It was rejected. So anything might now be on the table.

I haven’t gotten to that part yet!
What’s the time?
Can you believe the audacity?!
The prosecution could make any other offers if they wanted to, up to and until the jury verdict is read in open court
Yes please on the Menendez brothers. Great coverage recap on Boone as per usual Peter. The more and more I hear the more I think she should have taken the plea.

I could never be a juror in this trial as I don't see anything but a guilty verdict. I can't imagine what a horrific death that was caused by her disgusting display of heartlessness
My dad was called for jury duty many times but never served. He always answered their questions about being unbiased by saying “they wouldn’t be here if they weren’t guilty…”
He was a child during WWII.

Unless there is evidence no one should be allowed to accuse another of sexual assault/abuse as a defense. It destroys the lives of those used as the excuse just like was done to Casey Antonys father. It is disgusting.
I really really like this judge. He knows how to run a courtroom, and there is no doubt as to who is in charge. I like that.
Wow! That courtroom is REALLY small! Only 2-3 benches deep in the gallery.
Why be so obnoxious? What’s that about? Have you only seen a courtroom from the defendant’s perspective? Turn around next time. It’s a small courtroom, especially for a major felony case.
Perhaps you should follow your own advice…
This is only for the pre trial motions etc, when the trial begins, the judge will be using a much larger courtroom on the top floor of the building.
Why in the world should Brian Boone pay her child support she's in jail her needs are met
im not so sure because the state will take a chunk to pay restitution i believe.
Not that i feel he should pay for her murdering Jorge, but the money would still go to child i believe it would not go to her if convicted.
