- Interesting day working on the pink floyd golf 3 to see if I could get it started in our process to hopefully save it from being crushed! Excited to say the car started right up even though it ran out of gas in the end lol

As my first car,i had a golf mk3 variant (had the same colour and pink floyd edition). At that time ,i worked in scrap yard and there was an old man who wanted to give it away to scrap,because his engine was overheating and he got tired after fixing the car all the time. Bought the golf from him,changed the thermostat and it ran perfect. (drove about a year and sold it to other ppl after).
As the first car,it was perfect.

These 1.8s are dead reliable, I have one in my car. They're not common over here in Canada lol. Gonna ditch it and put an ABA turbo in though.

Sensational! We had these Golf MK3 here in Brazil but ours came from Mexico. German we only had the Golf GL 1.8 i with the single point injection in 1995 and they are easily identifiable by the side flashing on the mudguard like this green there. To follow you and save from Brazil!
Hopefully the scrapped cars in Mexico would be found like this it seems to have come out of the agency

1:18 My previous mk3 had the same engine. a 1.8 Automatic. That plug needs to be unplugged. dont know why, maybe universal wiringharness. Thanks for the upload, im going to enjoy it.

@@LeonKlaczynski If you put a bulb in there the fuel light works. Just a bulb from any spot in the cluster.

Those 1.8s have enormous amounts of torque, I hope you can get it back to life. Body is in amazing condition. MkIII best car ever. Actually the window crank in ours is broken! Ours had a leaky exhaust too, not quite as loud as that one obviously but, it makes a really nice sound.

Probably junked because of the missing catalytic converter. the owner probably reported the stolen cat to the insurance and then they didnt want to repair because of age so it got scrapped instead? atleast that is what happens where i am from
Honestly I think that the mk3 is ugly af... Mk4 is bearable and mk5 is ugly and weird at the same time. Mk2 is the king for me

I have a 1.8 vw mk3 golf but I am having a throttling problem . I bought two idle control valve and two tp sensor but each time I connect the idle control valve the car start to rev up

Before i was drived AUDI 80 B3 with this same 1.8 engine but with sport Weber Carburator
Why not swap a 2.0 crossflow with twin webers in it or bike carbs cheap fun and reliable!
Ps: not al EU mk3's have a gas light!
A lot of MK3 doesn't have the fuel warning light. I had a GTI 8v and despite the gaquge cluster had the mounting hole for the bulb, didn't had it, and didn't work. You had to eyeball the amount of gasoline that is left in the tank. Usually the needle goesa little below the last red line, and that's your last warning. In the GTI meaned that you have 10-20km of gasoline left being VERY careful.

christian i need your help :-) i bought a mk3 GTD 3 door but changed the elevators to manuals, how do i know the right place for the door cover to cut and pass the shaft to open and close the glass? There are no marks on the door cover for cutting
