    Another great interview from Harsha! In this series he's been praised for letting Chappell speak, but I was very pleased to see him push Chappell on an important point. 5:17. After Chappell has said that it's his job as captain to have words with a good player who may be a disruptive influence, Harsha says "What if he says buzz off?", adding "I'm sure such players exist". LOL! This is the universal headache of managers, in every domain. Most of them don't have the power to do, as Chappell says here, and take them off the team (and they know it).

    I like chappelli’s passion for the game. Everyone should love what they are doing this much. Otherwise, they shouldn’t be doing what they are. Most of us don’t like what we are doing n we don’t want to change due to insecurity of losing what we have. Everyday we should be looking forward going to work.

    I wished Alastair Cook and the rest of the ECB took note of this when they sacked Pietersen.

    A guy should not be captain if it’s weighing him down. A guy should not bring all his mates into the team..probably, he was thinking about sachin. Dada didn’t do just that. I hardly remember one or two bengalis playing during his time. Deep Das Gupta n another wicket keeper. Dhoni too had favoritism but he didn’t bring in all his ranchi friends. He brought csk team mates but they proved their mettle at intl level. Ashwin surpassed 300 test wickets, murali Vijay n jadeja too did their bit. That’s y ganguly n Dhoni was quite successful as captain

    Chappell, mate you earned my respect. I would have loved Harsha asking him about Greg's great Indian disaster.

    Lot of ppl criticizing harsha. I have heard him say in a interview before he tries to speak as less as possible and allow experts to talk. Don’t think he’s not aware of that but he too got carried away interviewing Chappell. Shows how much he admires the man. Probably he too have realized later that he interrupted..harsha knows more commentating than all the people who have commented against him. Harsha has done an awesome job. He gets the same adulation a sachin tendulkar gets while he goes for any Programme. I love harsha such an achiever n very down to earth...lot of ppl woulfny be like him if they had reached his level of success. At least in India he sure has left a legacy in commentating. For an non-cricketer at international level to get into comm box n commentating with ex-cricketers is an achievement by itself. Lovable harsha. He’s given lot of insights over the years which we’d have never seen otherwise.

    when Harsh asked him were you open to the idea of people not accepting instructions wthout arguement.
    Chappelli was thinking- lillee , marsh, greg, walters, jenner, stackpole. Do you Think I had a choice.

    Captaincy is on the field while leadership is off the field - awesome...India should have appointed him a instead of Greg.

      Right. Virat prefers dhawan and pandya for no reason. He is a biased captain. He did a bad job by keeping out guys like kartik and rayadu

      Yeah that’s what has killed Indian cricket over the years. India could’ve succeeded if Ian Chappells type of attitude was there definitely india would’ve been a fighting cricket team from the beginning itself instead of how india is a fighting cricket team for only the last 4 years

    refreshingly free of bullshit ole Chappell. He and Benaud are about the only non biased, objective Channel Nine commentators. Was surprised to hear his views on Steve Waugh.

    • @Bernie8330
      @Bernie8330 5 років тому

      Which part was that in? Was it positive or negative? About the only positive thing I ever heard him say about Steve Waugh once he got the full captaincy in early 1999 (ahead of his personal favourite Warne) was that his Headingly century some 4 months later was perhaps the 'best world cup innings played outside a final' (it was actually a quarter final in all but name).

    • @andrewmaroc113
      @andrewmaroc113 2 роки тому

      @@Bernie8330 wow - I never heard him say anything positive about Steve Waugh. I did hear Chappell moan on and on and on...about Steve's captaincy especially when Waugh was winning. Luckily records and statistics speak for themselves - compare the two as captains and as batsmen - sorry Steve could also bowl. Never heard Steve Waugh say a bad word about anyone.

    • @Bernie8330
      @Bernie8330 2 роки тому

      @@andrewmaroc113 Hey mate, thanks for that, and yeah Steve's a pretty cool dude. Not superior to Mark as a batsman though, despite miss-leading statistics. And yeah, Steve was prolly a better cricketer than Chappelli, who was pretty good, just quietly. I like most things Ian Chappell says, but he does hold grudges.
      Chappelli's negative stuff about Steve Waugh only really began around the time Mark Taylor retired.

    Chappel says leader and Harsha says 'sign of an insecure man.' Intrinsic stereotyping within us that says leaders are men!
