Have you tried ESPNcricinfo's Cricket Fantasy game?
You never get bored listening to this great legend of the game.
greatest player is devilliers, all other r average
What, in flat tracks ??
Harsha trying to keep himself in the conversation n annoying us n ian too..
I like listening to Ian Chappell he talks a lot of sense when it comes to cricket
James Hope Curious if you the one represented.. Aussies at international level?
I think he's Morgan freeman of cricket.
That’s James Hopes.
sudden infiltration of substandard commentators in the arena has been one of the major reasons the modern game has lost its earlier sheen and exciting innocence....big heavy bats and small outfields have added to woes....
One of the great brains of the game, love listening to him...
Huge respect to Ian Chappell from India. I've always enjoyed listening to him ever since I first got into the game.Knowing that he has gotten too old now made me a bit emotional while watching this interview but may God give him happy and healthy life for as long as he lives :-)
Chappel is a very knowledgeable and matured man.
I'm an Australian and a cricket fan, and I'm not like that. Most Australians are reasonably laid back, so the "I have to prove myself" bit is a bit misplaced. Maybe the people you're referring to aren't actually Australian and just live there. It's a bit the same with the Sri Lankans. We love them. They're the nicest people you'll meet. And if you do the right thing by them they'll do anything to help you out, the men anyway. Australians are the same. Look after us, and we'll look after you
Love Ian’s commentary always, the best. His enthusiasm is infectious. Great great guy.
Bhogle is terrible. Utterly lacking in class and grace. It's no surprise to see Chappel biting his tongue at the end.
Legend Ian chapell..His commentary umatchable.
Its hard to find sensible commentators , Ian chappel isone among the few. One of the best captains the game of cricket has ever seen. I think its a privilege for this generation to be even able to listen to his perspective...
Genius observation. As a tactician, I think he is second only to one Shane Warne and possibly a superior leader of men than Shane, so on balance, I would have to give it to Chapelli as the greatest captain the game has known. Like Shane, he always gives logical understandable reasons for what he says, so lacking in today's commentators generally. Australia has been blessed with an abundance of tacticians in this greatest of team sports and for 100 years or more, Chapelli, the greatest of them all.
I thought he would be much younger from the thumbnail.👍
Hi
Not really born in 1942..
Ian Chappell was the 'enfant terrible' of his time in the game of cricket. He played hard and he played fair. He took no lip from anyone and was quick to back his players. Even as a commentator he was one of the first to criticise the underarm tactics of his own two brothers.
His perspicacity as a commentator. He is easily a major cut above most of the other commentators. Nasser Hussain is another one who is good. He had the bluntness to call the venerable Indian fielders donkeys.
Great chaps!
Harsha annoyed the hell out of me by interrupting Chappell so many times.
Harsha will look back at this interview today, and think to himself "Man! I used to talk too much and interrupt my host way too much"
exactly my thoughts..... good observation
May be Harsha was inexperienced then...lacking confidence......nervous, perhaps....hence, compelled to talk too much to hide these frailties?....
talking about commentary. Commentators i love to listen. there are rarely any logical commentator left all across the cricketing world.
love the commentary bit of it....."give the viewer something to look forward to"... epic
Harsha should have written that last bit down about commentary and emailed it to every single cricket commentator working today. Because that's what it's all about now in modern commentary; going off right at the top of their voice. And that, after time, gets really boring to listen to.
Real sensible man..
Likes of Ian Chappell, Tony Greg, Sanjay Manjrekar, Nasir Hussain, Harsha Bhogle come in with some good honest original observations..
Not Sanjay Manjrekar tbh. His observations mostly seems biased.
Not sanjay
Sir I work in a coal mine and enjoy cricket as much as you do 😄
this title is very misleading... he is talking about Sehwags masterclass !!!
tendulkar gets more hits than anything else, so obviously it is convenient to have it :) Just tabloid journalistic thought that creeps into all media these days. catchy headlines to get attention
The problem with Harsha is he keeps interrupting time and again.
i am not rambling bro you are. all aussies have an urge/rather a necessity to prove that 'look i am better' maybe no one bothered to look down under. let me tell you, people did, and applauded the cricketers who played good cricket, but certainly no one likes the attitude of not being a sport. i never said that one team is better than the other, a statement like india dethroned aussies pricked your nuts hard, reality check for you. i dont care if bangladesh beat us 10-0 .
One of the best cricket analysts of all time.
Just come across this series now. Absolutely excellent!
UNBIASED COMMENTRY. GOOD THINKER. HE IS ALWAYS FOR CRICKET NOT FOR AUSTRALIA EVENTHOUGH AN AUSTRALIAN.
He knows very well how to attract viewers.....
yes i agree. i worked with an australian when he was on tour to india last year and it did not come across the way George the architect's attitude is coming across. my point is nto every person is the same and to make a judgement based on one prick's behavior is wrong on my part. and yes, i agree with your opinion mate. cheers.
Harsha should allow ian chappel to finish his statement. There are some unwanted interruptions in the middle
but having said what i said, i agree that australia defeated india at home easily, i feel that india still has a long way to go with winning overseas series which australia have pretty much managed with some teams.
and to answer your imbecile query of having the opponent wham double hundreds, i think you should read what i wrote earlier. there is something called as a home. you make it for yur players to be comfortable. i agree this series wasnt the best we had in australia. but you are making it sound like this was the only series ever played. agreed that india hasnt beaten australia in australia in test matches as they should,. but in one days they owned australia in 2007 with a B-side. thats cricket.
Two brothers. Own brothers. Full brothers (not half, step or foster). But so incredibly different it's impossible to believe.
This one is a man of character. The other one is not.
I think Haydos and Gilchrist were not as bad behind the stumps.
Haydos was very good at gully to the quicks, and a good 1st slip to the spinners. But Gilly was nowhere near Healy's equal as keeper. Ask S.K. Warne who he thought was a better keeper.
He is the only sensible guy around
Greatest captain i have known
u have not seen Chappel talk, or you always talk him in the wrong context!!
I liked Ian Chappel (and Greig) when he played. He was so positive.
Greg and Ian are so different......I love this guy
He is the best in all of Chappell family
Caption is eye catchy but has no relation with what Chappel said.
I really got a glimpse of who is Ian Chappell, and I really like this person, very logical and humble.
Akash chopra be like Kamal lajavab Chappel
if we deserved to loose, we deserved it. point is aussies lose with the reverse swing of an indian bowler. got dethroned under a pompous captain and cost the world title. my point from the beginning was one and the same that today India is considered as a feared team , much more than what it was yesterday, if it is too hard for your little brain to digest my friend, then god force.good luck :)
Only if Harsha interrupts less and allows the other person to complete. Ian Chappell was just goin to talk about his regret on retiring early and Harsha interrupted him. He undid his own good question by his habbit of talking too much
U and your brother always curse Tendulkar
Harsha - the man in his dream job where everyone else is a top cricketer and thus a perfect fit. Harsha - the man who thinks if he can play chess well, his cricket brain should also be pretty good!
But you've gotta respect him for his zeal
Pranab KSarkar
Harsha has a good brain and great social, communication skills.. Therefore a good presentator.
I missed him when those egoistic politicians in the BCCI caused him to lose his job for a very small reason.
The most intelligent and wise cricketer ever. It is always a pleasure listening to him. Just 🎶 🎵
No, I've watched cricket for a long time. And your argument regarding batsmen stepping out is silly -- Saurav Ganguly used to step out to Brett Lee and hit him...watch the 2003 world cup final.
Ian chappell has great knowledge about the game. His views r very good and attached to the base of the game.
This is the only interview in which I don't want Harsha to talk.
Ian is racist and condescending.
@gerardchristopher123 He's had his share of howlers - retire Ponting after the Ashes, retire Sachin 3 years ago, predictions for the WC, predictions for the Ashes.
ian chappel is my hero.
Hmm...I guess you didn't watch Umesh Yadav or Varun Aaron. Even Ishant Sharma -- at his best he can bowl over 150.
Interesting to hear his views on baseball ⚾
come on there's nothing wrong in it..he is just humouring and on that very match I also wanted sachin to get away from virendra sehwag cause he was so awesome on that day
@dadvoc666 You have to listen to what he is saying too, commentary really makes the cricket match interesting.
geeeeez this bhogle is sooooooooo booooring...pls talkless bhoglr oleeeeeez
Never thought I will say this, but Harsha Bhogle was very irritating in this
Mark Nicholas and Harsha Bhogle - I can only compare molten chocolate to their voice. :)
Harsha is like child against Ian Chappell in anyalyais wise on cricket
The only classy Chappel....the other two..well...no class all crass!
I wished he transferred his common sense to mr Greg chappel
The best commentator in the history of the game. Beside being a marvelous captain and batsman
Always listen up when iain speaks cricket. He does not mix words to please.
When everything was simple.
@nottellingu0 he must be your dad
you look so offended ;)
Voice of Cricket with one of the sanest voices in cricket.
Love hearing Ian Chappell he actually makes you wanna listen and not just watch the game which is icing on the cake 🙂. The only interview probably I am not really happy with Harsha's interview coz it seemed like Ian Chappell turned average questions into an interesting chat in the interview 🙂.
Any Indian commentator who makes honest and brave observations usually get sacked..
So we have to bear the pain of hearing that old, conservative, boring Gavaskar and an arrogant Shastri over and over again..
Can listen to him all day....
Harsha bhogle sir is the best 👍👍👍
Wounderfull commentary
True words by this man...everytime
nope mate he is like that to everyone
it's beautiful u got sth which u really love
no.but i like your enthusiasm.
art thou talking to thyself?
True fan of cricket
He is much better human being than greg chappell
"That dope Chappell, he don't know what he's talking about." LOL
Couldn't agree more
thx a mill
Harsha, what SORT of question was that @ 4:40-46...??? Of course he IS.., he was A CAPTAIN DURING HIS PLAYING DAYS, AND NOW he commentates BECAUSE OF HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME, as a player AND AS A CAPTAIN.., THATS WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM HIS "POINT OF VIEW"!!! Oh I forgot, u ARE a commentator who NEVER PLAYED THE GAME ;-)
LIKE ME :-) :-) :-)
dear analyst. i am smoking reality. its just that its too hard for you to digest. i never said indians are the fastest bowlers in the world. aussies are the fastest and i ll say that they will keep producing fastest bowlers as long as they live. but its ironic how they lose with such an attack. getting dethroned thats one, getting a potential world class captain chucked out thats two. accept it bro, rise and fall and fail. my argument is not how we lost, loosing is a part and parcel of the game.
i dont care if an aussie comes and bowls at 180 kmph. whats interesting is to watch our players whack then at 200 mph.thats what they do. aint that sweet? so much so for real cricket. and yeah, pity those aussies who still find it difficult to play zaheer at 130. maybe they should practice playing at 130 in the nets before playing at 160. :)
8-0 to play on flat tracks during net practices and quick bouncy wickets when you play the test match. sounds fair on the ACB's part doesnt it? the whole world knows the aussie's never admit their flaws but only cover them up. thats great sportsman ship. so much so that they decided to give a prestigious award to tendulkar and not an aussie who was or is his contemporary. forget tendulkar, i ll come to the point.
This was the same man who asked Sachin to look into the mirror and speak to him whether to play cricket anymore
Y not, nothing wrong
when you grow up in an environment playing the same balls , those balls become friendly. and it holds true for indians as welll. the point isnt if we lost 8-0 or 16-0 its just a series and time will turn the tables soon. its just wait and watch. gettign dethroned from the WC, loosing to India tests and one day too and costing Punter his captaincy pretty much shut the yap of those who babbled about world domination. you did that all right but not with all of them. some did you good by dethroning.
Ian is a humble and supportive looking.. Greg is pure evil
Harsha is so incredibly goofy all the time. And his English diction really needs improvement. He needs to slow down his freight train pace and enunciate his words better.
Ian is a real legend. Great commentator ; tough as nails and tons of insight. Always shoots straight from the hip.
He used to love tendulkar till 2004 Sydney test...
Always unbiased... Always aggressive, positive in approach since he was Oz captain...
Great cricketing brain, always thinks for both sides and his views r spot on most times
Till? What happened afterward
@@mukund.5151 tendulkar according to chappell, was restricting himself and playing out boldly like he did in 1998.
He was the reason the title came Endulkar....
When Sehwag scored 309, he said Sachim stopped him from scoring 300 in a day which was negative mindset.
Having said that being A Tendulkar worshipper, Chappelli has a very shrewd cricketing brain.
@@bhaskarpuvvala5849 ah yes..Sachin even mentions this *Endulkar* tag in his autobiography
Tendulkar is the best.
still ... still ... still !???
yes bastard he says he still captains both team in his mind :@
get over it
@dadvoc666 so why`d watch it t? that`s silly. And why use "irk"? that`s a word only wankers or people who aspire to be a wanker use.
harsha blinks more than he talks and he thinks he is funny
very irritating
not rambling. trying to show an arrogant little noob his place :)
