  • One step forward two steps back with this build, but such is life for a swapped car. After not having any sort of temp gauge I finally get a reading, then subsequently break pretty much the entire cooling system...

    I like how you are giving honest feedback on what happened, what you're thinking, what you think went wrong, etc. I see other people making content and it really seems like they are putting up a front and things are always going well - and that simply does not accurately reflect what being into these cars is like.

      Thank you man! I didn't know what to expect with a swap and this has to be a part of the swaplife so why not share? It's much more a journey if there's highs and lows, one day I hope it stops breaking though haha

    Damn Rip V8 E30 V2 will be awesome.
    the E38 content will be really cool as well considering how much Hamish repaired & replaced soo much of that car already.

    Thanks for the update! I hate it when I start something with the best intentions and then end up having to do it twice.

    sucks about the m60 man, at least this time you can build it better than it was before! can't wait to see the e38, that was my first car and where my passion for bmws grew too

      It'll come together pretty well for 2.0 I think! Really all I'm hoping for is reliability 😂

    Hamish (sp?!) If you collect a bunch of e30 clusters, you can send them plus yours into BavRest they can rebuild your cluster. Glad you're getting after this.

    Whoa was Hamish quoting Dillon Francis at 3:27?

    would you recommend this route for the gauges or would you go with something more expensive like the PG performance podi vent gauge or that dude that sells them on Etsy?

    • @DENVERBEERANDOIL
      @DENVERBEERANDOIL  3 роки тому +1

      I liked this route because I don't have to see the gauges all the time and got to keep the center vent. I'm paying for it with reduced visibility, so if that's the main concern I'd say the vent gauges are the way to go

      @@DENVERBEERANDOIL nice. ive been thinking about going the same route you did with the garagistic ashtray mount but i use the cig lighter to charge my phone. where did you get your actual gauges from/ any manufactures i wanna stay away from?

    • @DENVERBEERANDOIL
      @DENVERBEERANDOIL  3 роки тому +1

      Since I did the garagistic bracket I used the VDO ones from the picture on their website. I really don't know enough about gauges for accuracy though I'd just steer clear of eBay and super cheapo ones. I kept the cigarette lighter loose underneath the center console under the shift boot kinda, eventually I'd like to cut a hole on the passenger side of the console and have it mounted there but this works for now haha

      I believe its a UUC one, but the design has been copied so much they're everywhere, garagistic sells one if they haven't taken it off their website yet
