That bass gets your attention, Chaka's voice draws you in, and then when the lead guitar comes in, it's over. You're done, in love with this song, and will love it forever. Now that's what I call a reaction. You feel exactly what Chaka and Rufus intended you to feel.
I was just a kid in the 80s but damn I loved those days. The fashion, the music, the hair it was all outrageous and fantastic at the same time. I feel that was the last era that really broke boundaries in music. The 90s fizzled out and it hasn’t been the same since.
Generic White Bitch imagine being 18- 25 years old during this time? It was crazy. We we legally able to go to bars at 18 in my state because the drinking age had not gone to 21 yet and once it did, we were grandfathered in. So much fun. The late 70’s were fun too but the early 80’s were insanely fun.
I feel bad for the kids today. I was in junior high when this came out. All us kids learned to dance to and we danced to jams like this all the time.. Its how we got to me girls then! Hell, there aren't even dance clubs around anymore. Sad!
Plus he gave her 1 of his song (I feel for you) she did her thang & hit #1 on the billboard charts. Not many know Prince help get Chaka & Larry Graham out of there record con tracks.
I RESPECTFULLY AGREE @grendelz!😂😎😅🤤🤣🥳 ANYTIME YOU GOT "MR GRIND NICKI GRIND" QUOTING YOU PUBLICLY AS HIS "MUSE" SON!!!🥳🤣🤤 PRINCE WAS LONGIN FOR A "CHAKA KHAN FUNKY ASS SPANKIN SON"!😎🥳🤣🤤
Love this song, the way it starts off with the beat, kinda flirting with us, then it slowly gets going, before ending in a crescendo - very sensual almost. Also I really want someone who makes me feel like she is describing.
I was just dancing with my hubby to that! He ambushed me in the kitchen making dinner. It’s the first song we ever danced to together. She’s straight Black Queen Magic!
Chaka is truly blessed. She's the whole package. She set the bar really high. She can sing anything. Compare any artist to her today, Musician, performer or singer. She's a true legend, still performing today.
She's been around since the 1970's. Her real name is Yvette Marie Stevens who took her name after an African Warrior. She got her first big break with Rufus whose breakthrough Song is Tell Me Something Good written by Stevie Wonder. In 1985 when she came back with "I Feel For You" Stevie played his Harmonica for her. Check out "Do You Love What You Feel" or "I'm Every Woman" which was a Song to empower Black Women.
I saw Ms. Yvette (Chaka) in concert in the 70s. She is my absolute favorite female singer. She wasn't big as a second, but blew out the auditorium! I remember her brown suede crop top and hip huggers with feathers on her hips. She had a huge afro that was past her shoulders. We had a ball.
LOVE Her.....Great reaction. My favorite from her is--- Tell me something good..Rufus and Chaka I remember my mom playing this song all the time when I was a kid🤣🤣🤣
Been in love with Chaka Khan's voice since the 70's when she sang in the group Rufus. Best thing she ever did was to go solo. Rufus was just holding that lady back!
Gorgeous woman with the voice to match...great song. You heard this at least four or five times a night in the clubs back in the day. Epitome of a "dance" cut for the time.
Congratulations on 200,000 subscribers India! Ain't Nobody by Chaka Khan was one of the featured songs on the soundtrack for the 1984 break dance themed movie Breakin'.
Papillon (a.k.a. Hot Butterfly), through the fire, i'm every woman, Love Me Still (from the movie Clockers), and Missing You with Brandy, Tamia and Gladys Knight are some more highlights that I think you would really love.
I'm 66 now. This has been one of my favorite songs for decades. I would be up dancing with you in a minute India. You're very cute! All the best ...Mark
I recommend watching her and her group back when she was young. Live on Soul Train or The Midnight Special. Love her! Tell Me Something Good is also one of her nice songs👍
Ah, so young. These were such great times. The music was so good, disco clubs were packed from Thursday to Saturday night. People were coming from as far as Miami asking about a club in Hull Quebec Canada.
You did a great review! I must say that talent simply flowed all through Chaka Khan's veins for decades. No one did better music and Jams in the 70s and 80s!
I saw her a bunch of times when she was in her 20's and recently saw her live just before covid with Michael McDonald. At 67 she's still got it going on.
OHHHHH YEEESSSS💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 MY JOINT BOY, I REMEMBER BEING IN LOVE W/THIS MONSTER JAM AS A LITTLE GIRL, GROWING UP IN THE 80s☺🥰!!! You know Queen, most voices, you'll hear other voices come along that put you in the mind of that voice bcuz there are soooo many similarities, but, THEE INCOMPARABLE, UNRIVALED, UNMATCHED QUEEN CHAKA KHAN IS A PH.D CLASS IN VOCAL MASTERY, SHE HAS 1 OF THEE WIDEST RANGES EVER RECORDED IN MUSIC HISTORY & SHE DOES IT OHHHH SOOOOOOOO EFFORTLESSLY! SHE IS THE 1 QUEEN PATTI LABELLE, STEPHANIE MILLS, ARETHA FRANKLIN, WHITNEY HOUSTON, ALL UR GREATS HAVE REVERED & GIVEN HER PROPS ON HER ULTRA-SPRECIAL, 1 OF A KIND VOCAL MAGIC, SHE'S AN ICON, A LIVING LEGEND & AN AMAZING GIFT GOD GAVE TO THIS WORLD🙌🏾. 🙏🏾WE ADORE YOU QUEEN CHAKA & THAT'S FOR ALWAYS🙏🏾!!!
I had my funk and soul time in my teenager years back in the 80s (am 50 now). That song was one of the greatest back then and still is. I remember to record regularly from a radio show of british broadcast in west germany (BFBS - they had a funk and soul show called "soul train"). Brings a lot of good memories. This song was huge in germany in the time when the "breakdance"-fever came through so lot of people put it in there - although its just different. Whole song structure, sounding and of course especially Chaks Khans singing. Nice to see your reaction :)
This is my favorite reaction from you! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 No offense, but you are normally too cerebral for me and too into the words. But Chaka Khan hit a common chord in you that hasn't been touched before. She reached right down into your soul and talked directly to YOU. Like a huge relief that she was talking your language. You are kindred spirits. Such a privilege to witness. I saw her in concert once and she is so down to earth and real. Love her songs. Love that you were so into the music that you didn't pause it!
This song has always resonated with me deep into my soul. Probably cuz i used that energy to explode back in the day on the cardboard with DANCE! Love you and your reactions my beautiful sister. 🌱
Yeessss! So happy you react more to her art! Thank, thanks, thanks! May I suggest another great diva with fantastic voice and range? Jocelyn Brown “Someone else’s guy” 🥰
Chaka is one of the best female vocalist ever! She’s a real survivor and a icon! ❤️❤️
Who's better? Ain't Nobody
My favorite singer, and this is my all time favorite song❤❤❤
Plz. check out Ms. Chaka version of "My Funny Valentine" &
"I Am Every Woman".. Absolutely Great.. ♠W.G.
wg Davis I love Chaka’s version of My Funny Valentine! It is on the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack! Great soundtrack by the way!! ❤️❤️
Yeah...Chaka Khan ...love her!
This woman is so talented. Everything she sings turns to gold.
That bass gets your attention, Chaka's voice draws you in, and then when the lead guitar comes in, it's over. You're done, in love with this song, and will love it forever. Now that's what I call a reaction. You feel exactly what Chaka and Rufus intended you to feel.
Dancing in the clubs in the 80’s.....we couldn’t wait for this one....
I was just a kid in the 80s but damn I loved those days. The fashion, the music, the hair it was all outrageous and fantastic at the same time. I feel that was the last era that really broke boundaries in music. The 90s fizzled out and it hasn’t been the same since.

This song is everything and more, danced then and still dancing
Same!
Prince said she was his muse, no more needs to be said.
Right
Plus he gave her 1 of his song (I feel for you) she did her thang & hit #1 on the billboard charts.
“Tell me something good”
And “Sweet thing” by Chaka Khan are great songs.
Excellent suggestions
I second "Tell me something good".
@jennifer furber - those songs are really by Rufus though, and features Chaka Khan, 😀
jennifer furber you’re spot on with “Tell Me Something Good”. Great song!
Love this song, the way it starts off with the beat, kinda flirting with us, then it slowly gets going, before ending in a crescendo - very sensual almost.
Also I really want someone who makes me feel like she is describing.
Me too
I thought I had that but he left me for a girl
Well and drugs too
You're right sultry...that's Chaka...& sexy & hot on fire 🔥 😋...I'm also looking for "Ain't nobody!"

I was just dancing with my hubby to that! He ambushed me in the kitchen making dinner. It’s the first song we ever danced to together. She’s straight Black Queen Magic!
One of the best R n B songs forever, just timeless !
👏👏👏 Chaka Khan is one of the best female vocalists ever! ❤Love, love, love her!
Saw her with Rufus back in the 80s. It was one of the best concerts I ever saw! Girl can “sang”!
Saw her as a little white girl when she fronted RUFUS and performed on the Midnight Special! She made me feel POWERFUL!
Can't nobody touch Chaka Kahn.
Gotta dance.
That's what Chaka does. She leaves you speechless...lol. That voice. My favorite female singer, ever.
I can't NOT dance to this, even if I'm driving 😂

She is so great. So hard to believe you'd never heard it.

Love love love her that's my jam girl.
She's amazing in every way.
Chakas voice ! Please react to I’m Every Woman and Through The Fire!
Through the Fire is my ultimate favorite!
Yessss
I remember when there was Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. "Once You Get Started" was my jam too 🔥
Congratulations on the 200K
Her timing, her sense of rythm is insanely good. That middle part of the song ...😮
One of my favorite 80’s song! Was my jam! ❤️
Uhhh that synthbass and the keys 😍, pure 80s heaven.
The way the music builds wave by wave!
The moment it started I remembered how good this was.
Always loved this song! One of my favorites by Chaka Khan !
This is the song, when you heard the intro you started looking for someone to dance with.
Chaka is truly blessed. She's the whole package. She set the bar really high. She can sing anything. Compare any artist to her today, Musician, performer or singer. She's a true legend, still performing today.
I wore out at least 2 8 tracks and one cassette of Rufus with Chaka Khan. The world needs more Chaka now!
Great song. This song is Chaka Khan at her very best. Try "I Feel For You." That's another excellent song from her.
"Through the Fire" is my favorite song of hers. Dripping with love!
She gained her 4 Grammy of her 10 for this classic jam
'I know you I live you' is her best, in fact it's the greatest song ever written
React to Chaka Khan and Rufus, 'Tell Me Something Good'.
She's been around since the 1970's. Her real name is Yvette Marie Stevens who took her name after an African Warrior. She got her first big break with Rufus whose breakthrough Song is Tell Me Something Good written by Stevie Wonder. This is a classic. Used in countless songs via sampling. Never gets old. Such a unique voice. Thank you!!!
One of my favorites! She could sing the phone book and bring the soul to it.
My favorite from her is--- Tell me something good..Rufus and Chaka
I remember my mom playing this song all the time when I was a kid🤣🤣🤣
I' can't believe you never heard this classic before !!
This song is the bomb!!!!
Been in love with Chaka Khan's voice since the 70's when she sang in the group Rufus. Best thing she ever did was to go solo. Rufus was just holding that lady back!

Papillon (a.k.a. Hot Butterfly), through the fire, i'm every woman, Love Me Still (from the movie Clockers), and Missing You with Brandy, Tamia and Gladys Knight are some more highlights that I think you would really love.

I saw here in an intimate room, THE BLUE NOTE in the 90's. Just such a talent!
I'm 58 years old and I grew up listening to chaka. I love chaka, her voice is powerful yet there's a sweet tone to her voice. A Goat fo'sho' !
