I've picked my Diana P1000, Great, really Really good. Its beautiful, nice weight, good trigger action straight out of the box. Stock and foregrip are beautifully finished. comes with the air bottle adapter , a 15 shot magazine and a one shot adapter both easy to use. I've fitted a Diana silencer and a Hawke sport-HD 3-9x50. Over all I'm very impressed, I'll overlook the hic-up as an aberration. A big thank you to Mr King & staff of Kings Pet shop & fishing tackle who helped sort things out for me.
I had this rifle on test this weekend I finally managed to get my friend Tom to lend it to me! And my god is it heavy to carry around, just shy of ten pounds with a scope more than 11 once I have my camera on it. I wish Diana had thought to put swivel studs for a sling on it. Can't fault it other than that though, very accurate.
I've just purchased the P1000, the first one came, I had ordered the thumbhole version first. I went to pick it up, we unboxed it in the shop because the shop owner wanted to see it, only to find the stock was loose. It moved from side to side by about 5mm each way. I'm now waiting for a standard stock version as the thumbhole won't be available until late August. I'll let you know how things work out.
Hi Dragon. The silencer was the Diana-supplied suppressor, designed with a thinner neck in order to screw on to the end of the muzzle without interference with the air cylinder. (Good sound suppression, BTW.) The scope is Tasco 4-16x40 World Class. I used Sportsmatch reach-forward mounts in reverse... so you could say they are reach-back mounts!! (The P1000's length of pull is quite long, so you need to set the scope some way back to get the correct eye relief.) HTH. Nige
It's interesting - sometimes guns look a lot better in the flesh than they do in pictures... and that's exactly how I, myself, view the R7. I hated it when it first came out (in 1991). But when I got sent a test sample for reviewing in the mag (around 1994, I think), I was completely surprised by it... and bought it after the test! I traded it in for the Elan in 1998, BTW. Personally? I quite like the P1000! But I go back to what I said right at the start - beauty IS in the eye of the beholder!
Well said. I don't fill mine (well, the test gun!) to 200 BAR - usually 230 and I'm getting around 150 shots (though I've not actually counted them). I'm happy, though...
Its an acronym for PreCharged Pneumatic - i.e. an air rifle that's pre-filled with compressed air. As opposed to a 'springer' (a spring-and-piston-powered air rifle, like your typical break-barrel), a gas-gun (which runs of CO2) or a pump-up pneumatic. HTH. Nige
Good news, we have found the cause of the drop in power of my dialing P1000 call, which I just bought 1 month ago, Assisted by my friend who is expert in the mechanics of air rifle, this afternoon we ventured to dismantle P1000 we found 3 point cause of the decline of power, 1 wind turbine that is less tightly mounted can cause wind supply is unstable and tends to decrease 2. The longar hamer hammer makes the punch on the per hammer weak, it can be tightened until it is really stuck and strong, and does not sway 3. The inside of the wind valve regulator is not strong enough, it must be in 2 turns After going through the bunching of each stage we just tried to fix it just by firing it, all turned out to be too weak in the lockout Hopefully this information can be useful sometime for P1000 lovers Remember if you dismantle it with an expert in the mechanics of air guns
@evonick I agree, it looks long with the mod on... but actually didn't feel overly long. Personally, I don't think it needs one - and looks the biz as a straight muzzle
It depends what country you're in... but both are very powerful. You'll probably find it easier to group the P1000 more accurately as it's totally recoilless; the Mod. 54 is really semi-recoilless. HTH
I agree with with Elliottg123, it does look a bit like the HW100 & a bit like a Career 707. A bit of accuracy testing on the next video would be great. Thanks for the video.
@SalehMagrabi Really? My view is that it had taken Diana so long to create a PCP that I felt they could easily have got it wrong. Once I'd got the gun in my hands, I thought completely differently - it's a very nice PCP air rifle indeed. Well built, with enough flair to make it 'different' from the rest. Why are you disappointed? Did you get one and not like its handling or something - or are you just basing your opinion on what you saw in my review?
@djsyks1 Cocking isn't 'stiff', though it's not quite as slick as, say, the Air Arms S510. Not loud at all IMO - and I'd probably even dispense with the silencer in order to have a more compact rifle. Beauty, of course, is in the eye of the beholder! (I rather like it, though... both to look at and hold.)
@SalehMagrabi I see. Thanks for your reasoning. I must say that the gun I have here, in my hands, is (in my opinion) rather good. I'm sure - as with many manufacturers' models - there are areas which could be improved... but, of course, one man's meat is another man's poison! My personal view is it's different enough to offer an attractive alternative to what's currently on the PCP market - and, for that, I applaud Diana. Cheers. Nige
Have you heared about the recall they are doing? Something to do with the magazines not indexing or jumping 3 rounds. Other than that, nice looking rifle, reminds me of a Blaser R8, hope to see the Twig take it out for a spin!!!
@JaleelJohanson62 I did... but it ended up on the cutting room floor - the mike didn't really detect any difference. In practise, it's a bit quieter with the mod on - but I'd rather sacrifice the few extra decibels for a more compact gun. The P1000 is pretty quiet without a silencer, to be fair.
@malcytull Well, I intend to do a follow-up film to show the rifle's accuracy with different ammo. Just wanted to get this vid out as a 'first look'. Currently testing the rifle for my Airgun Shooter Magazine article; first impressions are most favourable, Malcy. :)
Well, I spend a long time putting these videos together so that people can watch them for free. I try and include test cards wherever I can; sorry, on this one I didn't have targets during the video shoot. But you can read the full low-down on the rifle's accuracy capability in Airgun Shooter magazine. A digital edition of that is available to purchase for a few bucks from pocketmags (it's a dottt commm website) - you'd need to download the May 2012 issue. HTH
Unfortunately, I don't have the rifle on test any more... and although I have some targets from the test in my files, I can't really see how I can put up a video purely showing just a handful of shot cards (with no decent video footage)! If you want to contact me direct, I'll arrange to have them scanned and email them to you... Nige
Hmmm interesting! So is this an out right hunting rifle designed for hunting in mind? I did see that BAR blackpool airguns has stopped selling them because they were so unreliable? Always good to see a new rifle on the market but they shouldn't have rushed it
@yoelrey99 Nope - and that's certainly not the case in the UK (where they're so new at present, there aren't enough out to BE recalled!!!). I've fired over a tin's-worth of pellets and had no indexing issues whatsoever. HTH. Nige
Dear Nigel, sorry, I really appreciate your informative videos always, all of them are very useful, we appreciate it, it was just the question no more,,,, I would appreciate if you could to provide us an accuracy test for Diana P1000, thanks a ton.... Hemn.
Sir, could you please let us know; how to clean the barrel of this Diana? it really most important issue for taking care & keeping accuracy. Thank you for your help.
Why did I have no idea this gun existed? I must be under a rock! After all, I am a huge RWS Diana fan (I own a 34p). Also, why aren't they for sale anywhere that I can find?
Good day. Please tell me what is necessary to put an optical sight on the Diana Magnum 350 classic 5.5 cal. I would like a reliable and high quality. Thanks in advance.
Dear Nigel Allen. I am totally confused of one thing. I would like to ask for clarification for one thing. I am about to buy one Diana. I am in between Diana Mod 54 177 and P100 177. Are they the same power? Which one is more powerful and accurate? Thanks.
newbie here...is the Benjamin hand pump compatible to fill the Diana's canister? if so, what other accessory is required to attach to the hose end of the hand pump...male or female quick disconnect??
Ok. I have already eliminated airking 54. But how about the difference between p1000 and daystate airranger. Which one do you suggest? Which one is more powerful and accurate? Also, .177 caliber is suitable for rabbit hunting? Cheers
"'Removing the air cylinder, it couldn't be easier" - Yes it could - try fitting it with a quick fill port !. That's why they call them Quick fill ports.
@aaronrushton1 Hi Aaron. I intend to do a follow-up film to show the rifle's accuracy with different ammo. Just wanted to get this vid out as a 'first look'. Currently testing the rifle for my Airgun Shooter Magazine article; first impressions are most favourable. :)
Not very keen on this myself, looks very cheap and plastic, especially that safety catch. Reminds me of one of thise plastic BB guns. A cheap imitation of a HW100, especially the sidelever and mag. Best thing about it is the cylinder imho. Nice review though, just missing accuracy tests. ATB
Hi every one I bought one of this gun 2 weeks ago after 100 shut air delivery system broken I contact Diana no one responding its so disappointing another fault when you cocking the magazine instead of go to next pellet sometimes go to secend or third
can anyone help me ID a gun? the thing looks ancient, i found the letters, DIANA LUFT-GEW-EHR that's all i found on it because the thing is completely metal all over and rusty, it has no sight and fires a single shot, to reload you have to open and close it , sorry i don't know more, i know little about guns, if anyone can give me tips to ID it that would be great
+InTheNameOfJustice yeah... except that would be outraged after a few months... and AirgunTV has an international audience, so quoting prices can actually end up being rather misleading. That's why viewers sometimes need to enquire after watching the free video.......

kose mantap
@AirgunGear Thanks you guys! I could have done another complete video on the out-takes alone!!!

@TheShootingSociety When I shot this film, I'd not put a full tin of pellets through. It is loosening up a bit now that I've fired over 1,000 rounds.
Very different guns, really. Both very capable. The HW100 is selling more in the UK, if that's any help.
@SalehMagrabi I see. Thanks for your reasoning. I must say that the gun I have here, in my hands, is (in my opinion) rather good. It will be more than suitable for that (airgun quarry only, obviously).
They're very different animals - I don't think that's a fair comparison! What do you want to use the gun for?
Hmmm interesting! So is this an out right hunting rifle designed for hunting in mind? I did see that BAR blackpool airguns has stopped selling them because they were so unreliable? Always good to see a new rifle on the market but they shouldn't have rushed it

Nice video. What kind of price will it have?
Great video! Just a little question though. Would this be a good hunting air rifle?
please could you show some groupings for us at airgun hunting ranges! i really want one of these now...
I am not normally interested in PCP's but that is a nice looking rig.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
@elliottg123 Accuracy tests coming soon, Elliott. No plastic on the rifle - anywhere. I can't see it as an imitation - it's very much its own gun...
Oi talking to the camera and being funny...... What? LOL
This is your best work yet Nige I loved it! Can I have the P1000 now please?
ATB Malc
@headfuckd *** CORRECTION !!!! *** Sorry... just checked. The safety catch is NOT synthetic; it's cast. My bad...
I reckon it's a Diana! However, really need to see a pic of it to make a better ID...

Good day. Please tell me what is necessary to put an optical sight on the Diana Magnum 350 classic 5.5 cal. I would like a reliable and high quality. Thanks in advance.
Great review but I think the safety switch looks cheap....I would have thought wood on stock would be better too...
Yes, you can.
@headfuckd No - not at all 'plasticky'. Actually, only the safety's synthetic. I like...
Certainly - added to the long (and growing) list! :)
Many thanks VSU! ATB - Nige.
nice review Nigel it looks like a old crossman pump nice but i will stick to my air ranger lol
Dear Nigel Allen.
I am totally confused of one thing. I would like to ask for clarification for one thing. I am about to buy one Diana. I am in between Diana Mod 54 177 and P100 177. Are they the same power? Which one is more powerful and accurate? Thanks.
Is it possible to re-fill the cylinder using a manual air pump
newbie here...is the Benjamin hand pump compatible to fill the Diana's canister? if so, what other accessory is required to attach to the hose end of the hand pump...male or female quick disconnect??
I heard there are some problems with the rifle is it repaired now??
Ok. I have already eliminated airking 54. But how about the difference between p1000 and daystate airranger. Which one do you suggest? Which one is more powerful and accurate? Also, .177 caliber is suitable for rabbit hunting?

can you buy multiple cylinders?... it would be cool to just keep an extra in your pack just in case
@PLINKINATOR Yep - all metal, Plink. You canNOT double-load it.
I like your vids Nigel and also I'm subscribed to your magazine keep it up. FMG.. subbed
been waiting for accuracy test on this airgun... pleaseee?
is the block made of plastics?
What about accuracy testing, did you forget it? it is important to show us how P1000 accurate?
"'Removing the air cylinder, it couldn't be easier" - Yes it could - try fitting it with a quick fill port !. That's why they call them Quick fill ports.
its just like the weirauch hw100 14 shot mag side lever flat trigger and removable cylinder
@djsyks1 The HW's sidelever is pretty nice, I grant you.
hey! Can anyone tell me the difference between this and the walther dominator1250! Are they both similar at performance?
i have one of Diana Guns
it is old but it is strong
Mahmoud ghabash me too
anyone notice the rear of the scope lift when cocking , at the point talking about the safety catch.
Whats better, The HW 100 FSB T from Weihrauch or this rifle.
Great gun.
Does it hold up today?
does this come in .25 cal? if so it would be nice
Good gun,Where can i buy it in Bali-Indonesia?How much?i like squirrels hunting.
Would have been nice had he fired it with the moderator off just so we could hear the natural report. Other than that, nice review.
Is that Droitwich?
Hi guy's....am I missing the point !
How much is it ?
Southampton
Which airgun is good for hunting ?
Love your videos.
ATB
Yes - perfectly possible
Have a look at the video on AirgunTV by Hunter's Vermin about using a pull-through.
@madmaxmahmut No - there's no plastic anywhere. See my response to @PLINKINATOR: Yep - all metal, Plink. You canNOT double-load it.
Great rifle, just love it!
compared to HW 100, which one is better?
How much pressure do its need ??
Hi every one I bought one of this gun 2 weeks ago after 100 shut air delivery system broken I contact Diana no one responding its so disappointing another fault when you cocking the magazine instead of go to next pellet sometimes go to secend or third
Lots of these have been leaking after a couple of weeks use, maybe not such a good buy.
@MrJeriksen8 Cheers.
Dina 36 model air gun ?
@maxbert76 Please see the response I gave to @renowntwo yesterday: £747GBP to £818GBP according to stock/silencer options (Via RUAG in the UK)
how about the price'?
What is the killing range in yerd?
so its stiff then lol imo i find the aas510 quite stiff when you compare it to a hw100 or an old logun axsor/mk2 pro.
@srspower yes I am!
the shape and the design reminds me of a shotgun
What is the price
can anyone help me ID a gun? the thing looks ancient, i found the letters, DIANA LUFT-GEW-EHR that's all i found on it because the thing is completely metal all over and rusty, it has no sight and fires a single shot, to reload you have to open and close it , sorry i don't know more, i know little about guns, if anyone can give me tips to ID it that would be great
how much this model P1000¿
Why, thank you! :)
An indication of price would have been nice. Now I have to faff around on other sites to find out the cost.
+InTheNameOfJustice yeah... except that would be outraged after a few months... and AirgunTV has an international audience, so quoting prices can actually end up being rather misleading. That's why viewers sometimes need to enquire after watching the free video.......
