I would love to see these controllers used for other headsets like the HTC vive focus vision, XR elite, PS VR2 and DP VR E4, headsets that don't have controllers that track them self. I think there would be a better opportunity for them. I get it the apple vision pro doesn't have controllers, and at the same time that headset is $3500. I would pay the asking price for these controllers well after some improvements. I'm currently using a PS VR2 paired with Index controllers and it works well not with all games but for most, some games I do have to use the crappy PS VR2 controllers.

I’m waiting for them, I’m looking forward. I’m already playing PCVR with Vision Pro and Index controllers, but Index controllers aren’t ideal for all the types of games (the absence of the grip buttons is a big limitation in some games), the re-calibration sometimes is annoying and the base stations limit you to use the headset in only one room.

I so want to ask an XR engineer if having self holstering controllers (via hooks or clips or something) that can sense when they are holstered (kind of like how Quest headsets can sense if they are being used), thus enabling seamless switching from controllers, for use with weapons and items; and to hand tracking, for use with magic/The Force/powers could be a thing. You can use your hands to do different magic abilities (like in Masters of Light), and then whip out your hip clipped or hooked controllers to use your sword and shield.
If you know an XR engineer (especially a Meta one) feel free to toss that out there, because I very much WANT this in the next gen XR headsets and the Quest 4.

the thing is - if you're serious about VR gaming and you have $3500 to spend... you're getting a big screen beyond headset and pocketing the other $2000 or so.

nothing against anyone spending their money how they see fit. but one of them is an elite VR gaming device... and the other is a mixed reality macbook pro. like comparing a super sport track bike to a prius. you can get groceries in both, but they're suited for two completely different tasks.
and nothing at all against my man Ty (here!) - he's an awesome creator and big ups to you for showing us this new hotness. it's just wild that for nearly $4000 you can have a ... middling gaming experience with the likes of the quest 3/s and psvr2 out there, all for sub $500.

@Butterscotch_96 that’s fine, there’s more people who bought a tablet (billions) vs a Nintendo Switch (millions), still the Switch has its place. Equally many people don’t care to buy a tablet, as they are fine with a phone. Not everyone has to have every device, but what AVP delivers (and Android XR) is new capabilities on top of the current mobile experience.

YOUR LITERALLY JUST TRYING TO JUSTIFY SPENDING A INSANE AMOUNT OF MONEY ON A HEADSET THAT CANT DO ANYTHING. Look I own an iphone 15 pro, I've defended apple in the past, but the vision pro is just bad, it just is, Its a dev kit sold to the public and a high end device. My quest 3 can run mixed reality games, full vr games, stream pc vr, and even has good hand tracking and upper body tracking. And I got it for 400 bucks (after taxes, I bought a refurbished one from meta, works just like a new one). I saved like 3000 dollars, and got a headset that actually has a use.

I was thinking 100 or 150 something like that but I’m not gonna buy them if they don’t have games. Right now there’s no games. And I don’t have a computer that strictly for gaming. AVP is great for watching movies. Especially 3-D. But I thought they were gonna have a lot more games. I thought other companies were going to port over their game. None of that has happened.
