Tried today i5 eDrive40 vs 540i xDrive on autocross at Ultimate Driving Experience. I must say that i5 is more fun. 540i has very noticeable turbo lag, very muted engine sound.
No one is racing electric vehicles. The whole point of an electric vehicle is energy conservation. People are more concerned with getting more mileage per charge.
Nice touch mentioning the Hofmeister Kink. I haven't heard anyone on UA-cam note that for two years. You'll notice the H-Kink everywhere in all BMW cars, even the steering wheel in the iX and the digital displays on all new models. And yet, no other reviewers either 1) even knows what it is, or 2) are too stupid to even notice. And no other manufacturer, besides Porsche, has a design theme that has lasted 50 years. Nice job. It would be nice if you used timing gear, especially on slow models, because BMW is the king of sandbagging performance.
Relatively conservative styling, though potentially drowned by other similarly styled vehicles (especially the rear haunches and doubly especially now that KIA has its Tiger Nose design). Also, holy high pricing Batman!
I have an i4 M50 and love it. Maybe I'll get this one when the lease ends.
Merc EVs are so dead

For $66k starting - it should be much faster, mid 4s at least. The M pricing is in Plaid territory.

@@PassportBrosBusinessClass Correct. The number one issue holding back wider E.V. adoption by the average consumer is range anxiety.
@@MondernMan I won't disagree its pricey...but BMW'S have always been expensive.
It's built well with quality parts. Don't think the muskmobiles can claim that.
