These guys definitely write the lyrics. They're nephews I believe are producers and help teach them modern lingo and shit. But they definitely write it. It's well known. They're very famous. They're touring Europe in October. They aren't the only ones either. There's Norman Pain and the Northern Boys. Whole retirement home is lit. It's its own rabbit hole.

By now it is quite clear that the writing is a collaborative effort (their grandsons Nine & Dex helping out with the structure and new slang, Pete and Bas throwing in old references and old slang). Doesn't matter to me that they aren't writing the verses 100% by themselves - they still need to perform those bars and the flows are impeccable. That's not easy to do, even when you're in your 20's.

They perform live. They write their own lyrics. Their grandsons (91 Shots, Handsome Dexter) produce their tracks and help them with the lingo. They are both ex-musicians. Their grandsons have killer tracks as well. Look for Pecan Pie by Nine and Dex.

Dude it's been proven they write their lyrics for years now. You're not even a regular reactor.
I have been listening to these two for years, I do not remember a time that this was "proven" but I don't know everything.
Why is it so hard for young folks to believe that we old dudes cannot write dope lyrics?? We have been on this planet FAR LONGER than you. We know a few things. I used to rap when I was young. Bas, is a professional musician and teacher by trade. He also plays a multitude of instruments. He is musically gifted. It is also said that he has written a few songs before. Go look at their first video from 2017. You can see the steady progression. What if EMINEM had waited till his 70s to rap? You can actually get better with age.
Side note: Bas was a bare-knuckle backyard fighter as a youth. apparently, he was quite good. Pete has done some ISH in his youth but won't elaborate.
