For sure his success was part gift, but definitely grit, fueled by determination, discipline and focus so his daughter didn't have to experience anything that he experienced growing up. Ive never looked the man up, but I imagine he's successful outside of music. I connect through his music, It's real and raw and hits deep sometimes.
