This UTD team wasn't about oil money and the most expensive coaching staff ever assembled. NO. It was about sheer determination through sweat and blood with a footballing patriarch and genius at the helm. There's a big difference between synthetic leather and the real deal.

Our team now is easily worth 800 million and we can't even compete or play a decent football style so don't talk about other teams at least they have high standards and winning the league every year
      Our team is a joke

They were fortunate to have Roy Keane as Captain. He was as much responsible for the Treble as any of the other players.

The most exciting treble winning season by an English club. They defeated a tough Arsenal team. As well as defeating Inter Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich along the way.

I get so passed off when people try and say Scholes was better than him.
      Beckham was ON FIRE!
So was Keane and so was Giggs!

When he was on he was great, when he was off they looked worse. 1996-97 and 1998-99 probably his worst two seasons at United statistically but even then he did some super important and impressive saves in both seasons.

Imagine if they got Kluivert and Yorke. I’m not sure they would of had the same chemistry as Yorke and Cole

Proper market that Summer, still stam in my opinion was the pivotal piece of that market session and of those years in general. Already with stam the defence was the weaker part of the team, without stam It could be grotesque. In particolar the centerbacks in Italy would have barely player in the First tier...

The greatest treble in English football! What a fun! Footbal as stated was not as challenging as it is now. It was a kind of one horse run at that time. Look at what is happening in recent time in english football. That cannot be counted as the greatest
May be second to the greatest decent neighbors!

United wa really lucky that season, they won the treble, but could lose it all easily… and they were lucky to face Bayern in CL final, instead Dynamo Kiev, who was the best team n Europe that year with Sheva and Rebrov upfront..

Big myth that Man United won the treble with “homegrown players”.
Neville, Beckham, Butt, Giggs - only 4 out of the 11 vs Bayern were homegrown. Yorke and Cole, who terrorized defenders that season were big money signings.
Ole and Sheringham, who scored vs FCB - big signings.
Pepinho and Manchester City got teased every season for not winning the UCL, when they finally do it (as a treble).... y'all catch feelings 😂
Manchester City fans have to put their foot on their haters necks 😂

ManCity's treble wasn't as impressive as ManUtd's in ANY category.
Man$ity with no competition, WITH VAR so you just have to concentrate on being the best where as ManUtd had to do more than that & still could've had their challenge messed but they still prevailed, no cup replays to strain your season like RoyKeane's bizarrely disallowed goal vs Arsenal in FAcup semi-final meaning ManUtd had to beat Arsenal (a MUCH better Arsenal than Man$ity's closest rivals of 22/23) 3 times in 1 tie when thinking about how the replay went with ManUtd cruising scoring another great goal and only cancelled out against the run of play by flukey deflected shot, forcing extra-time had to win all over again and did so with 10 men and an iconic goal.
ManUtd's title race vs a better Arsenal was also under control for the whole season it never looked precarious like City's 22/23 (and 97/98 Arsenal's as ManUtd were cruising for large parts they lost it Arsenal didn't win it but it still gave them that belief so they were more dangerous in 98/99 than ManCity's so called rivals of 22/23 who were all mediocre & hadn't achieved anything in ages, or in the case of RMadrid in CL the opposite achieved too much didn't care what happened they'd won 5 of the last 9 CL's & City had never won it and have been trying to buy it for ages of course City will eventually beat them, ManUtd's star studied opponents in CL 98/99 were clubs that posses many BallonDor winners or at least Top3 noominatd but they were all hungry to win CL because most if not all hadn't won it yet it was harder to qualify for & win so it made it harder achievement facing the best players who are also hungry, even in domestic football 98/99 ManUtd faced many PFA PlayerOfTheYear winners Shearer, Bergkamp, Ginola etc...and beat every PL team in at least 1 competition....ManCity can't boast any of this plus BRENTFORD did the double over ManCity 22/23!!!!) and also the Inter Man$ity faced couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo. Please don't try to compare the star studied teams ManUtd had to play in CL 98/99 to ManCity. Were Inter 22/23 also going for the treble like Bayern were in 98/99? Couldn't have been their CL final opponent didn't even win their league.
ManUtd won the hardest format of the champions league invincible style and being by far tournament top scorers etc etc etc...
99 hardest FAcup route any winner has ever had.
Also how many Premier league teams have beaten a solid team to the title who only conceded 17 goals? Apart from 98/99??
Arsenal in 22/23 in a much IMPROVED season from their previous 6 failed CL qualifications, still conceded 43, which will lose you most PL races nothing special about overtaking a team like that.
