TIP: if you are a little lucky and get the "[Pale Hope]" buff from drinking the "[evening ale]" it will SIGNIFECANTLY increase the time it takes you to despair by boosting your darkness resistance! again it's a random chance but makes it a lot easier to mine down there! sort of like rng'ing a lucky day for mines in Stardew Valley!
I finally tried to brave the dark deeps and my first encounter with the mysterious creatur ONE SHOTTED ME. I spent the next 30 minutes stuck at the bottom of those caves and barely managed to get all my things.
I found triggering a hoard, then fast travel back to home base. Fight then heal gear and eat and fight more. I got so many black diamonds etc from that.
I just don’t understand why we’re getting a despair debuff from being in the dark? Like we’re already in a cave and it’s already going to be dark. How is it more dark. I wish wall torches would refill your despair.
I grinded the shit out of the darkest deeps mining and sleeping non-stop. I've got 300 of each precious gems but ZERO black diamonds. WTF wrong with me?
Hey man, awesome vid. (hate despair and poison mechanics rn) But a quick question; can you get black diamonds and if you do, is it rng or is it deeper in the tunnel?
I know this is a year later, but why does your map show how each "room" connects? I just got this game, and it is all just squares next to each other with no way of knowing how they connect just by looking at it
@Dare_To_Game ah that's a shame cause the new map is so so bad. I like the new maps colors for each zone but it's layout just is the worse. Recently got the game because of it finally is on steam and is on sale. All the guides and stuff are like a year old and tbh most of the wiki stuff is also out of date or just is not easily findable info.
Nice guide, I assume those 4 black diamonds in your inventory at 7:14 are also from mining? Currently on the rebuilding the eastern stairs quest, and finding the diamonds are a pain in the butt to say the least
kill some bosses. the bridge takes 50 to repair, they get more plentiful in the desolation area, I think I have 62 of them now. sun stones is the hard one now
I think it will get a broader release somewhere down the road. Epic isn't a big enough chunk of the PC gaming market for them to settle there permanently.
How the hell do you get maps to look like that? I do not have delineated rooms. Everything looks like a giant blob of a single room. There's no delineation between spaces once the doorways have been opened. Navigation is fucking difficult

Excellent guide. I plan to play a bunch of RtM today.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for this. I hadnt ventured into those holes. Didnt know what was what.
Glad I could help!
Durin's lamps work against the darkness down there
Nevermind, just tried it and they don't work... I thought they did because there was a tooltip / message somewhere suggesting they would.

Excuse me, run that passed me again? MYSTERIOUS BEAST FROM BELOW?! :O

Is there a way to avoid despair at all ?

Well done. Love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video. Love this. Is there a different map region where you find the other gemstones?
Not that I know of
if im not mistaken dwarrowdwelf (or however is called) deeps drops diamonds and the other tiers gems

I'm sure it was updated out long ago. I haven't played the game for a long time.

Did not know we can go down there. What is the mystery creature?
i wish you can mark area's of moria in the map..
you can, press X when on the map screen, so M for map then X, then type a label, press mark location
I’m not into the depths just yet, but I’m excited to get the new pick axe
Only thing i can think of when doing a lower depths mining run for gems, is hi-ho.
Lol, it does feel rather like the intro to snow white.

@@notsure6182sunstones can be mined in the mithrial load area
do you think this game eventualy ever goes to steam, or it will be just for epic 4ever?

I’ve built some wall lamps on the way down and also some standing torches
Good guide
sunstones?
Ah thanks for this! I was looking for how to go from T2-3 but couldnt find any rubies!,
YEET

Devs changed the map layout. (For the worse imo
