      @@NikkiBrown4theLord a. 1 john 5 : 7 as it reads in the kjv was taken from the Latin. There were some pre-kjv bibles which gave a sign of this by placing the rendering of this verse in parenthesis.
      b. The kjv is still copyrighted (or technically under royal prerogative) in some places.
      From wiki : Copyright statusEdit
      "The Authorized Version is in the public domain in most of the world. However, in the United Kingdom, the right to print, publish and distribute it is a Royal prerogative and the Crown licenses publishers to reproduce it under letters patent. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland the letters patent are held by the Queen's Printer, and in Scotland by the Scottish Bible Board. The office of Queen's Printer has been associated with the right to reproduce the Bible for centuries, the earliest known reference coming in 1577. In the 18th century all surviving interests in the monopoly were bought out by John Baskett. The Baskett rights descended through a number of printers and, in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the Queen's Printer is now Cambridge University Press, who inherited the right when they took over the firm of Eyre & Spottiswoode in 1990.[166]
      Other royal charters of similar antiquity grant Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press the right to produce the Authorized Version independently of the Queen's Printer. In Scotland the Authorized Version is published by Collins under licence from the Scottish Bible Board. The terms of the letters patent prohibit any other than the holders, or those authorized by the holders, from printing, publishing or importing the Authorized Version into the United Kingdom. The protection that the Authorized Version, and also the Book of Common Prayer, enjoy is the last remnant of the time when the Crown held a monopoly over all printing and publishing in the United Kingdom.[166] Almost all provisions granting copyright in perpetuity were abolished by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, but because the Authorized Version is protected by royal prerogative rather than copyright, it will remain protected, as specified in CDPA s171".

      Old English hadn’t been around for 400 years before the KJV was translated, dying off by 1200 AD.
      Then there was Middle English until 1500, when our Modern English language replaced Middle.
      KJV is from 1604 - 1611, or 100 years after Modern English came about.
      We still use Modern English 400 years later with very little change. KJV is Modern English.

    Got all but the last one, and that's because it's incredibly similar to a quote from the Tempest 😂 and bonus info: the "standard" US accent or "tv accent" is closest to how people talked in Shakespeare's time, because American and British accents split off around the time of colonization and they evolved separately. Most historians/linguists believe the least change was in the US accent, though. Some Shakespearians actually believe that it's not in it's true form unless acted with an American accent. I, as unlearned as I am, tend to think that Shakespeare is most accurate when performed with the natural accents of the players

    It's not good to cause our brethren, loved by the Lord, whom He died for, to be discouraged. That is not loving as we should. I'm saying this sensing the weight of this, not just for brethren who can put songs out there for many brethren all over the world to hear and even sing along to, as an expression of their worship, but for each one of us who were commanded by our Lord to love our brethren as He has loved us. It might get difficult though for these who are leading in songs because more often than not, they are looked upon by many as they serve as encouragement through what they are doing with music. They must, as placed in a place of ladership, has greater responsibility. For more of this important role in the church, Desiring God has just a new podcast episode for ask pastor John. that could shed some light. hopefully, those who are discouraged by this (as you could see in the comments) will just be discouraged with perhaps listening to their songs or be more watchful with the songs they write (and that goes for any other band!). Hopefully, they will be encouraged to read and know their Bibles for themselves, all the more. And that goes for all of us. 😄

    I actually could recognize Shakespeare and which play, and the Bible and which book (most of them... probably because I was an English but in high school and read the Bible). But this should be a lesson as to why KJV should be updated.

    • @MifflinMountainMusic
      @MifflinMountainMusic 5 років тому

      Renewal Creations
      No reason to update the KJV, it is in Modern English. Modern English has changed very little in the 500 years it has been about.
      If we updated and switched from “thee,” which refers to a single person, to “you,” it would be very difficult to read since there would be no distinction between a single person and a group, as a small example.

    Having been brought up in the KJV of the Bible, i find it appaling that they didn't get 1 Corinthians 13! 😱
    But thank God we shifted to NIV when I got to college. Hehe.

    • @MifflinMountainMusic
      @MifflinMountainMusic 5 років тому +1

      Cha Miranda
      The NIV says that Jesus fell from Heaven instead of the devil in Isaiah 14. Calls Lucifer the “Morning Star,” which is a title of Jesus in Revelation 22.
      NIV is satanic.

      Mifflin Mountain Music, are you referring to the New NIV or the old one? Because the old one is mostly ok, it’s the new one that basically slaughters the Holy Word of God

    • @MifflinMountainMusic
      @MifflinMountainMusic 5 років тому

      Aaron Oram
      Both, from what I see. Isaiah 14:12 and Revelation 22:16. “Morning Star” is used for Lucifer in Isaiah 14, and then in Revelation 22:16 Jesus refers to himself as the morning star.

    The fact that you know these answers, actually does not have much to do with the version of the BIble you use. You guys have to remember that the Word of God is constant - the meaning of the verse(s) should not change no matter what version your Bible is in. The versions are, I believe, just to adapt the Biblical VOCABULARY for the world to understand (i.e. Shakespearean english is very hard to understand for most people, so they translated it to simplified english), not to change the meaning.. When he said "Not in my Bible" for 1 Corinthians, I asked this: in which true (things are being edited out) Bible did God not originally say all of those things about love (love is what is meant by charity) in the first place? If ya'll don't know what verses say, ask the Holy Spirit!

    As an 18 year old, you would expect that I got every one of these wrong. But since I took the time to read the KJV Bible cover to cover, I got 7/7. People constantly bad mouth the KJV, and it makes me upset. The fact that Kristian referred to the KJV as the "Looney Tunes" version of the Bible shows his lack of respect for the version of the Scriptures that people gave their lives for. And, if he would take the time to get off of his phone and actually read it, he would find that it is a beautiful version of the Scriptures, one in which you have to contemplate what you have read to fully grasp Its meaning before moving on. The Bible, whatever version it may be, is the Holy-Spirit inspired Word of God, and it deserves to be revered and honored. I lost a lot of respect for Passion today.
