This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for someone running through simple construction from scratch. I learned more here in 15 minutes than in literally years of looking at lessons in Garageband and Logic. Plus, it was all done with a great sense of humour and let's face it you have to have that if you're a musician! Well done RJ, thanks and I guess I'll be seeking out more of your vids.
No kidding.
create all my backing tracks : simple method but I am a drummer +guitarist+bassist: tuto soon
I play all the instruments I need = guitars and drums + more
check it out and subscribe !
Fucking hate Garbageband.
RJ - you ARE THE MAN in teaching lessons! You should get an award for this!!! All your stuff here: That's how the real life works - TX SO MUCH!!
Yeah man! Very clear and clean instructions. I’d like to watch you make more of these types of software videos for beginners!
some of the best working guitarist stuff on UA-cam! Great videos.
Awesome as usual R.J., one of my favorite channels on UA-cam . ..Keep them coming my friend .
Excellent as always RJ
I'd love to hear about how you compose your demo guitar parts. Are they improv? Half-improv? You always manage to turn such interesting phrases without getting repetitive.
Have been thinking about this for a long time....using interfaces vs trio + (etc). Thanks for the easy walkthrough!!.
Love this! Thanks RJ.
Thank you !!!! Very imformative yet SIMPLE !
I like what did there! Very cool to watch!!
I use the Fishman Tripleplay MIDI pickup and play Omnisphere softsynths, it doesn't write MIDI, it records the synth audio, which is aux sent to outboard effects, so Reverb most of the time, tracked simultaneously. EZD as well, but mostly done in the song creator. Sometimes cymbals, sometimes triangles get written out in MIDI. the performance editor let's you add/remove specific drums, and it will rotate through patterns if you adjust the number of hits. mixed FL Studio, all PC based, RME interfaces. Surface Pro 4 with 2 add screens. Great fun!
That was a very cool demo.
I've been using professional backing tracks, but now I'm keen to do my own. Thanks for the lesson, really helpful.
Thank you R.J. I had several "So that's how he does that!" moments watching this. I am woefully ignorant on today's plugins etc... This is a great intro to composing with today's technology. :)
Thanks for your lesson!!
Fantastic, R.J. Thanks for making this!
I saw a couple of your touring musician vlogs, because I am a UA-camr when I'm bored of my non cable TV, I thought them quite interesting, being a musician and home recording person myself I thought this video to be quite helpful and I learned a lot! thank you hopefully if I head to Nashville I can meet you
RJ.. thanks for listening to the requests for this. The internet is good for some things and this is worthy. (At least in my world). I see the light again.. keep em coming. Huge Fan!!!
Woow.. thank you for sharing your idea. Big help
Friken sweet man. You are helping tremendously. Thank you
Thank you RJ. You just gave me some other music Ideas from both this video and your how become a better musician video.
That was awesome. I have so little understanding of how this sort of thing is done and that made it all seem completely doable with a little patience and practice. Thanks.
I really enjoyed your channel this year. Thanks man and I hope 2019 is a great one for you.
Thanks for watching! I've got some great stuff in store for 2019, stay tuned!
LOVE THIS!!! GREAT JOB R.J.!!! : )
Very helpful man. Thanks
You are simply the best!
Awesome tutorial RJ. 👍
Nice.I'm currently in the market for some new software and this made the choice a hell of a lot easier! Thank you
Thanks for this one. I'm trying to make backing tracks on garage band, and it's really tricky. I don't have logic or plugins but the basic things you're doing here I think I can use in GB. Thanks for another very useful and interesting vid!
Same!
This was so helpful! Thanks!
I don't play a music instrument, but I watch all of your videos :-)
Great job man..Loved it..!
Talented! I want to learn this! Thanks for the video.

More of this please. Going to start me making my own songs
Good info nice delivery, thanks.

Thank You RJ Very Inspiring
Thanks, U gave me some ideas!
ey RJ im just newbie, but watching your vid give me more inspiration.i am learning how to make my own backing track.i'm a bass player but sometimes works changes and have to play acoustic guitar.
This was fun, thank you!
Really useful video!! Cheers! 👍🏻
I'm happy you titled it with "software I use" Since this video is about buying additional software.
Subscribing after seeing this - great tut!
Thanks man. As a frustrated guitar player, this really helps. EZD it is.....
Thank you very very much. This will help me creating songs
Thumbs Up from Brazil!!!
Awesome stuff!
Thank you! Subscribed!
You are so good , Thanks
Nice very informative and simple
Fast and nice groove.
Cool! Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Thanks!
Finally! Someone I can relate to. 00:40 I don't know much about EQ 🤣🤣 I think I'm gonna subscribe from now on 🎸🤘
Great video, thank you!
Very interesting the Logic Pro X
very good man, you made me want to record some hits
You just popped up on my UA-cam channel and I'm glad you did! Very helpful info and entertaining as well:-)
Good tutorial. Plus, we all know that we can take it further if we want to. Thanks, R.J.!
Very cool. Thank you.
Very helpful!
Thanks RJ, this software has always been a mystery to me. May put away the Tascam!
Loved the video. This is something I’ve wanted to delve into. What keyboard are you using to trigger drum and bass sounds?
love it!
That was great information, thanks for taking the time to put it together. I still work in garageband so I'll have to see if those plug-ins work there, or maybe it's time for me to grow up and start using better software? haha. Not sure it makes sense, I'm a guitar-hack...but it's fun.
Thank you very much. I'd like to start making my own backing tracks to jam too.
That was KOOL
Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us ! Very interesting information!
Looks addictive, I would never go to sleep lol
Ez keys is nice. Drop a midi fix arpeggiator and get the Rhodes moving’
Great breakdown. As a recording teacher I appreciate the clarity of your presentations. Sharing with the class!
Great Vid. You mentioned Meter/Strut in EZ Drummer. Probably based on Cissy Strut by The Meters (Funk). Couldn't resist a chance for some Zigaboo appreciation..
Wao...i respect ur humbleness,i am not an engineer, dpend more on presets....ur cool
Loved it. I want more videos like that!.. I am sick of learning my guitar and nothing else (Yes, I don't sound that good! :)... So I need the computer to help make learning more interesting.
You need to do a logic tutorial! That lesson was better than any that are out there!
Great Vid. Subbed.
Awesome!!!
0:47 "I just move around the knobs and sliders" 😂
Hi great video!! Will you do a tutorial on how to creat a medley of pre-made backing tracks... let’s say you take three ready made tracks of different tempos and run one into another by adding the appropriate drum and instrument fills.. is love to see how this is done because i normally take a verse from each track and overlap it, fading one into the next for my one piece vocal gig but obviously doesn’t sound as good if I were to use the correct fills in between...
Wow super easy!!!
Great video man, thanks! What fx did you use for the solo sound in the end of the video?
Thanks!
Great Tutorial! One Question. How do you play all these instruments? I mean do you have something like a pad which you can use for all instruments?
Nice!
Damn you made that look easy
Great soulful tracks!! My current personal favorites from the Rj Ronquillo lab are, E Rockerbox Hip Groove, B Eastwood GP stoner Rock, E Rivolta Amber Steady Rock and Dm Ghost Ridge Alt Rock. Soon to be recorded. Hoping that it's okay to post and share!
Thx, RJ. Super helpful video. Do you play the drum and bass sounds with a midi keyboard?
My entire workflow! LOL. I also use a program called Scaler to give me chord progression ideas.
Nice. I just picked up a similar program called Captain Chords, but i'll check out Scaler.
@@RJRonquillo It was a toss up between Cap. C and Scaler. I went with Scaler because it seemed easier. Check out a free (or very cheap) program called ChordPulse. Really easy creative muse and you can output the midi and import into your DAW.
Súper
Thanks
Dude, were you reading my mind while I watched your last vlog? I was wondering where you got your backing tracks from. I thought it might be some library of complete tracks. I should've known better. Thanks RJ!
Hello RJ. Are you still using Logic, or are you using the Ableton Live 10 Lite that is included with the IK Multimedia AXE I/O? Looking to put together a small setup to record ideas and backing tracks, and curious about the easiest and most cost effective route to go. Thank you!
"ooh, I can hear the rust on that..." I died!
I "TOTALLY" heard the rust too ;)
I was looking for help with the actual guitar tracks? got a video on that? mainly wanting to see if you use an eq/compressor/limiter etc. and how you set those.
I am new here! Thanks for the welcome!
So how were you playing the bass notes? On the computer keyboard? Once all the tracks are laid down how can they be interfaced to a pa system for live performance?
hey bro nice video good work, but one question: i can make back trackings isolate de instruments only in this program that one music exemple: open file >> mp3> music guns n roses and isolate the instruments thanks
Hey R.J, thanks for the video. I have a question for yourself or any other person. I'd like to have a jam with my brother using backing tracks. He's on the drums and I'm on the guitar. I want to have a backing track with Vocals (too hard to sing and play sometimes), a Rhythm guitar and some kind of click track for the drums / timing which is the hardest part. I did one ages ago but could never get the timing right it's seems too hard. Is a click track a snare or metronome sound, what's the best thing to use and does it have to be a lot louder than the other stuff in the mix? It'd be so awesome if I could get it right. Cheers.
great!
What are you using to input the sounds? Like the piano, and bass?I’m used to just doing singe notes at a time with my mouse😂😢….. as you can tell I have no clue what I’m doing
