bought my daughter a 2018 KIA Forte in 2019 (her first car while in High School). The single worst purchase I've ever made - it hasn't been stolen or burst into flames [yet] but our insurance premiums in Illinois are more reflective of a luxury sedan than an economy vehicle. Someone please start up a second class action lawsuit to address both Hyundai/KIA negligence on behalf of ALL owners irregardless of theft, fire, etc. Owner insurance premiums totaling nearly twice the cost they should be isn't fair. They shouldn't be allowed to sell vehicles in the U.S. until this is addressed.

The rear seat leg space was something company should have taken care of instead of adding more features
Finally some comment really caring about rear passenger comfort then 20 features which rarely anyone bothers while travelling.
That's where these compact SUVs become a nonsense segment to consider. Compact sedans were a lot better. Unfortunately only Dzire will end up surviving it.
They do it to reduce the taxes customer pay which in turn reduces the on-road price drastically because it's just under 4 metres (3.995m)
Brezza, Nexon are fantastic sub 4 meter suvs. Even Magnite is a fantastic package but only drawback is its company which has a pathetic service network.@@viveksaraiya124

Let XUV 300 come. rumors goes that its gonna get first in segment panaromic sunroof. And engine wise its very difficult to beat those M Hawk engines that Mahindra has.

It looks great, however do we have crash test rating for this? I remember Seltos has 3*. My preference for Nexon is only because of its 5* build. Because safety is my first priority on highways. I have seen many accidents where somebody else hit the car and car was completely damaged. This is the case with Hyundai and Kia cars. Downside of Tata Nexon is unreliable service and poor finishes.
If your budget allows wait for XUV 300 facelift. Its the best in sub 4 meter if boot space is not your major requirement.

Then I think you could go for Brezza as well. Although rumors are there that this time Mahindra is increasing its boot space. I think by March we will come to know. @@gauravjain24

@@arunachalpradesh399 Is it? That's bad. For me paying 18 lacs on a car must have enough safety so that in case of an unfortunate accident at least we survive. But sadly no car has a mix of great safety with a great engine, driving dynamics and features. If it has then it's extremely high priced. Hence, we have to compromise on either engine or other things. I drive a skoda kushaq 1.5 ltr and was blown away by the driving dynamics. But then it's expensive and not has all the imp features.

No one from Kia talking or giving hint of sending this Sonet to Bharat Ncap testing. Seltos has been launched couple of months back but not any news of it as well. Why can't/don't Kia send its vehicle for BNcap testing the way its sister company sent Verna and got 5 star in GNcap?
New nexon already best seller after the launch even with some reliability issues and after sales service issues. The safety rating is a big factor in its sale. Sonet and Venue need to take safety seriously as Indian buyers have now become quite serious about safety ratings.
The rear leg/knee space is another big issue for those Sonet. It will again be a deciding factor for the people who travel with 3 persons at the rear.
The suspension might have got softer now as compared to earlier version but I am sure it will be still stiffer. This may also not great as Sonet will not be used as a highway racer and the stiffer suspension will help in those conditions.
May be Kia and Hyundai need to learn more from Tatas or Mahindras at lease with the rear space and safety..!!

Don’t know why people disrespect other brands, every manufacturer is now focusing on looks safety and other features. If Hyundai or kia are considered unsafe compared to Tata, then Tata lacks in engine refinement and service. Verna got 5 stars recently, may be Tata will also improve their service. So it is choice of the buyer what they want, only illiterates fight over this comparison.
Verna's body shell was rated as unstable even with 5 stars by the GNCAP, so it ain't a safe car no matter how many stars it recieves.
The problem is hyundai & kia sells stable tank like build quality cars in other counties like kia seltos scored full 5 stars in Australian NCAP while in india ,it tosses up into 2 pieces easily. All they care is about making money.
While tata on the other hand , has unreliability issues . No matter wherever you go in the world , no matter the car ,whether tata or jlr, all have unreliability issues . They are not partial with India .
