The only singer I've ever seen that can pick up song that would only work with the original singer, and sing them at least as good the original. I'm thinking about AIC for example. I've hear many cover, and most were painfull to hear. Not Corey's versions. He's an amazing singer on his own right, but also can sing beautiful iconic songs and make justice to the original singers.

It's called Mic Control / Mic Technique. It's a thing. When singers are particularly adept, as Corey surely is, you just instinctually know how far to be from the mic based on your delivery. Studio work helps you hone this.

I was thinking the same thing. While he does a damn good job, you can tell Corey struggles to sing it, whereas Dave Grohl not only sings it perfectly, he screams it and makes it sound effortless.

He doesn’t really go into falsetto often. He can go higher when he wants. He usually belts his high notes in his head voice or mix. He’s a rare breed.
G isn't a high note. It's in baritone range. This is 1 half step lower than the original.
