  • Barcarolle was written by Marcel Grandjany (1891-1975) and is from a set of pieces called either Trois Petites Pièces or Trois Pièces Faciles, depending on the edition. This version is from Trois Pièces Faciles, and can either be played on a pedal harp or on a lever harp, with a few slight adjustments.

Exquisite performance of a gem of a piece. It's so nice to discover traditional classical music playable on a lever harp. In my new budding studies at the harp, I don't foresee ever being able to own a pedal harp, so it's nice to discover repertoire that retains a classical flavor. I adore Bernard Andrès' works as well as those of François Pernel, who both take the lever harp repertoire in modern directions. There is so much to discover and learn.

I love this piece, and your'e correct, it is classical while being playable on a lever harp. I also really like Bernard Andrès' music, but I don't know François Pernel well. I will have to look into his music. Thanks so much for watching!

Hi! I have actually played this song before but not with the optional intro. I do have a pedal harp now and would like to learn it. Where would I be able to find the sheet music for it? I've looked everywhere online and have not found it!

Here's the version with the pedal harp introduction: www.vanderbiltmusic.com/product/G505+1041.html
Most likely you played this version if you did without the intro: www.vanderbiltmusic.com/product/G21.html
      Good luck!
