Another fantastic show gents! I’m so glad I have found this channel, especially as you are not afraid to address the issues arising from today’s modern (enforced) standards.
Like many in the chat, I also feel that Doctor Who died with Peter Capaldi. I’ve given it a bloody good try though but both Chinballs and RTD have utterly decimated the show.

Missed the live stream, sorry guys. Fantastic show as usual. See you on Wednesday, if the Chancellor hasn't taxed me out of house and home by then. 👍

In our current society, there is an unhinged agenda to elevate a minority group at the expense of the majority, with the only reason for Davies' return being to use Doctor Who as a conduit for this; a comprehensive betrayal of fandom, and his own community.
Many thanks for these valuable debates, JT, Paul and Ian. All the best for now.
    Paul

I'm finally caught up with all the shows! And this was another great one. I think I might have to look at a job change,so I can enjoy the shows on the day ,or day after broadcast.

Foella Benjamin was actress for awhile she cropped up on Bergerac series one and Paterson Joseph would have been a contender for a 1990s Doctor or maybe Eammon Walker (PC Haynes in The Bill and the Boxer in One Foot In The Algarve)

RTD said all that hogwash, that I'm sure even he didn't really believe, about the regeneration clothes because he couldn't say, "Jodie's outfit is utter clownshoes, and I want Tennant to look cool." Like you said, there was the orange jumpsuit, though, and I remember at the time people had seen her wearing it in a trailer, and were speculating that she was put in it so it could be the regen outfit. So it was also, like so many things recently, also a failure of imagination. Ridiculous not to have bothered to try to explain any of it in universe, from the face to the clothes.
Excellent point about the writers and showrunners having learned that the plots and characterisations can be shoddy and incoherent, and sycophantic fans will carry water for the dross by insisting on endless headcannons and fan theories to plug the holes. Not to mention the RTD post-air "explanations" and general shouting down anyone who says otherwise. So true.

JT, I know you have not watched any of JW's period as the Doctor, but it is worth watching the episode with Jo Martin as the fugitive Doctor - she is very good and, as Ian noted, immediately shows up JW as an actor. She understands that, though humanoid, the Doctor is an alien - the moment the chameleon arch is deactivated and she transforms is reminiscent of Jacobi's stunning transformation into the Master at the end of Utopia.

I respectfully disagree. I think her performance was perfectly serviceable, but nothing outstanding, and would not have really been remarked upon if she had been acting against, say, Eccleston or Capaldi rather than Whittaker's terrible performance. The transformation she depicts, and the understanding of the Doctor as an alien, would be a basic requirement in any reasonable piece of acting. It certainly was not on par with Jacobi.
I _do_ , however, agree that it can be worth seeing, just because I think that one episode is important to fully understand how it all got this bad for DW. I fully understand JT not wanting to put himself through the to rture, though!

@@demaupinIt’s an awful performance. The stereotypical Badass Mama that takes no …. from anyone. You see that type of character in numerous American dramas. Uses a gun and uses Martial Arts on 4 Judoon Rhino type Aliens. That takes her into super hero territory. Nonsense!

Checked out the Apple logo story and it’s defo an urban myth. The creator of the logo says the bite is simply to give scale to the logo and shows that’s it is indeed an apple and not any other vaguely roundish fruit. Great legend though and I think Apple should have run with it.

FYI Fairly sure I was silenced on the live chat (algorithmically I presume), perhaps for merely describing what happened minutes after River Song regenerated (with reference to JW falling into a train).

@@WhosViews I arrived late, and at 1:33:28 or so you showed my "Hi all" greeting on the screen, then at 1:39:52 you showed my comment about the public being averse to lectures. I made some comments after that, but I suspect they were shadow-banned, perhaps algorithmically. It wasn't that they were important comments or anything. I was explaining that Moffat made newly regenerated Time Lords practically invulnerable by showing River Song survive some projectiles, because the discussion was asking why JW survived falling from a great height into a train in her first ep. But more importantly, I just wanted to alert you to the possibility that parts of the chat may be censored by this platform, or possibly by individuals in the chat. So thank you for putting comments on screen where they can be preserved.

No the Doctor is an "alien" not a "man" I agree with everything else you guys are saying but when it comes to the gender change I'm sorry I don't agree that it shouldn't happen infact it should had happened in the classic series then this whole female Doctor debate would no longer be an issue and it shouldn't be times have changed and I think it's sad that people have trouble accepting a female Doctor we can't assume the gender ways on Gallifrey are exactly the same as earth i think that's incredibly buyist maybe Gallifrey has three genders for all we know maybe they are just gender fluid they never said that there has been only a male or female timelord not even in the classic series even the time lords don't care about gender so i don't get why it's an issue and it's ashame you havent watched or given Jodie a proper chance JT i think you've missed out on some good stories.
However that being said I do agree that Steven Moffat really screwed up the whole Doctoring number system and as much I think John Hurt is a great actor it should had been Paul McGann playing the War Doctor role it would had made 10 times more sense.
