Layton was the only PDM I've had my nose on and instantly fell in love with it. Picked up the 125 ml at the beginning of the year for $200 and I gotta say, it is a workhorse in cold weather. You absolutely get what you pay for IMO.
@@dylanbaas495 i have some and i don't get that from cardamom. Been told by Aaron Terence Hughes it is Actually actual eucalyptus, and it is is pretty common in oriental fragrances to create projection but not everyone perceives eucalyptus as easily, which is why some only smell it as " vapo rub "

Blind bought Layton, wore it for one day, and fell in love with it and the next day I ordered a backup bottle. Friggin love the scent profile. Now I have so much of it I wear it frequently
You’ve got to try Carlisle. If you love Herod and Layton I think you’ll love Carlisle. Although if I’m being honest the first time I smelled Carlisle, there was a note that bothered me. But then I revisited and it became one of my top fragrances. I had the same reaction with BR540. But now it’s also a favorite.

At first it was just too much. Smelled incredible, but there was so much going on there my newbie nose didn't know how to handle it. Now that I've had it a few months, worn it many times, and have grown my collection I can really appreciate Layton so much more. It's beautiful, and I'm absolutely addicted. A bit too much. Sometimes I put it on just to run around the grocery store because I love smelling it, and I gotta chill with a fragrance that expensive haha.
When I first received my Layton I hated the opening and still kinda do cos it reminds me of Vicks Vaporub, however once its past the opening, the smell is incredible, one of my faves definitely.
I recently found out my local mall have a specialty perfume store, so I went in to try ultramale. The lady starts recommending me creed, pdm and all sorts of niche stuff but as soon as I smell Herod I ignored all the other tester cards. I'm yet to smell anything so beautiful. Unfortunately I'm not in the budget to spend that much, but I still get whifs of the tester card now even though it was 3 days ago and everytime it's just daring me to splash on the whole bottle. What a magical scent.
PDM has amazing fall / winter scents. I currently own Layton, Pegasus, Herod and Carlisle. Difficult to pick a favorite as it really depends on the mood and situation but a toss up between Herod and Layton. In fairness to Carlisle, I haven't had the opportunity to wear Carlisle in cooler weather yet.
My list is pretty similar to Ash, although I haven't been able to smell a lot of their older scents: 5. Herod 4. Sedley 3. Pegasus Exclusif 2. Oajan 1. Layton I really like their feminine leaning fragrances as well, but I havent had enough time with them to have a definite list. Meliora, Safanad, Cassini, and Delina stand out though
Great list. I’m also a huge Oajan fan 👍🏻, although I don’t think it’s as versatile as Layton. I also really like Habdan, but I think it’s more of a scent for people who are into fragrances and not so much a crowd-pleaser. Never smelled your #5.

I've tried maybe a dozen. My favorites are: 1. Herod 2. Pegasus Exclusif 3. Layton Exclusif 4. Sedley 5. Pegasus I tried so hard to like Carlisle, but it just wasn't my thing. Every other PDM I've tried has been decent or better.

Oh Herod is GORGEOUS. You're going to get so many compliments with this one, what an elegant beast it is. You're going to smell...what's the word..."inviting". And that's a lovely thing to be able to do with fragrance. Not everyone finds a scent to add to their personal energy in this way, it's a fine calibration isn't it? To successfully match the idiosyncrasies of personality, aesthetics and body chemistry to the exact right fragrance offering out there is such a triumph, ha! In other words, you wear the fragrance not the other way around. It's why we all 'go niche' isn't it; to find something that really works as an esoteric wardrobe accessory and holds strange power. :)

I love a strong recommendation so I ordered a sample a few days ago and...on no, instead of a deep, leathery rosey oud the fragrance smells like a sour, metallic, rusty bucket. No, not the bucket itself; it smells like how I imagine the water to taste :D Horrible. I have to report this back to her now. :(
I have the blue bottles - Layton, Percival, & Sedley. Love all of those and currently in the market for Herod and Habdan. If I could only have one frag house for the rest of my life, right now I'd choose PdM. Designer appeal with Niche quality, and you won't smell like everyone else wearing Sauvage.

Solid list Ashton. Herod is #1 for me followed by Layton, then I go more warm weather with Sedley, Greenley, and, yes, Percival. I love they Carlisle smells great from the atomizer, but it does something funky off my skin.
Layton for sure. It’s mass appealing while still being high quality and without be boring. I think it’s also the most versatile of PDM. I even wear it on a summer date night. As long as it’s not a super hot night.

I almost bought Godolphin yesterday. I really really liked it but I feel like the salesperson was pushing me toward Carlisle. So I didn't get it and bought Carlisle. I love that one too but still want Godolphin. What events or occasions do you wear it, if you don't mind sharing.
I bought Layton in the COVID quarantine era. Before I got COVID I loved it. Post COVID and lingering scent and taste side effects, I hate Layton. Same with Office,Date Night and Aventus. My side effects have been getting better two years after, and I can’t actually appreciate them again. I still don’t like Layton because my mind tells me I hate it but I’m going to give it a shot. Maybe I should buy the Exclusif
PDM Layton is the only one that I’ve tried and yes it’s awesome. I even bought a couple different clones of it from the Woods Collection and the Amber Oud Bleu Exclusife.
Layton first (shocker), Herod second, Peg exclusif third, Sedley fourth. Not liked any others I’ve smelt enough to purchase yet. Interested in smelling Oujan and Carlisle.
Agree with your choices, especially with your choice of Layton over the Exclusif. So glad I only bought a sample of that one. I really don't understand the hype concerning Exclusif, it just doesn't seem to work at all and I enjoy some challenging scents. It's a coin toss though for me for the number one spot between your top two, I love them both.
I got to be honest I think pegasus is my favorite - just the smell of almonds is gorgoeus, layton with that apple and vanilla just sneaking through - basic I know but they are just my favorites :)

I recently went to the Parfum de Marly store in Paris and Godolphin was one of my absolute favorites. Herod became way too sweet for me after a few minutes. To me it smells much more unisex than Layton. I also like Percival a lot, but I get why it's not on the list.
Layton and Carlisle are my hands-down favorites. I consider both both Holy Grails. For something fresher, I am surprised that Greenley does not get more love.
Great video my favourites are Layton, Carlisle, Pegasus Ex, and Sedley - I like Oajan as well, but like Angel's Share more and they are in a similar wheelhouse, as you said. And yes, Layton is better than Layton Ex, but Pegasus Ex is better than Pegasus.
Surprised PDM Sedley didn’t make your list. I get lots of compliments. It’s sexyAF! My top 5: Layton exclusif, Sedley, Carlisle, Herod, Pegasus (original). You can’t go wrong unless your bank account goes wrong!
Believe it or not I like both sides, seeing as Herod is one of my favourites. My all time fav tho is definitely galloway. The burst of fresh citrus just makes me smile every time I smell it

Many others are really well made, but not my thing, like Oajan, Habnan, Akaster, etc. However, both Exclusif scents smell awful on my skin, and Kalan and Godolphin are absolute scrubbers for me. Then again, I hate, hate, hate both Ombre and Tuscan Leather, so if I had read that before I bought the sample, I'd a saved $5, lol.
The absolutely perfect video I'm looking for. I found a few friends who live off the grid and gonna do some IRS stimulus checks and get a hefty commission and gonna buy two of PDM. Hmmm Layton and Carlisle I think.
not sure if this will be a popular opinion, but I've smelled the entire parfums de Marley collection (marketed for men/discluding the women's fragrances) and my favourites are as followed: Herod (amazing spicy warm addicting smell) greenly: bright fresh uplifting fruity fresh fragrance)- I like to call this grown men Versace Eros, because one of my first fragrances was Versace eros (I'm only 18) and the apple in eros is what had me hooked, so likewise I like the apple in greenly. Carlisle because its close to Herod (IMO) but doesn't have as much charm and doesn't peak my interest as much, then Oijan, its tied with Carlisle but I see myself wearing it a less than Herod and Carlisle, then Galloway, I love how it makes me feel and its not so dark and serious as the others, and lastly Layton, followed by Percivel- they are fresher takes than what Perfumes de Marly typically produces.
Kalan is so much better than Carlisle! The sillage off Kalan is amazing like Layton. It's easily one of my most complimented fragrances of all. Layton Pegasus Herod and Sedley make out the rest of my top five
I have been testing some PdM scents recently.I have tried Percival, Herod and Layton until now and what I can say is that each of this three has something special inside, but Layton and Herod has the 🥇 1st place ex aequo in my opinion (until now 🙂). I am waiting for Layton Exclusif, Carlisle, Sedley and Greenley samples and I am really curious about each of them...
I must say I'm surprised no love for Layton Exclusif. I think it's Layton with more questionable intentions. I little badder but balanced with being a lil more mature.
Layton and Carlisle are fantastic but no PDM collection is complete without Habdan and Greenley. Those 2 would definitely have to be included in a top 5

I have 75ml been having it for 2 years still got a lot of juice. It’s a beast mode performer and you really don’t have to spray to much on due to how strong it is.
Someone could dislike Layton and Kilian Roses on Ice, but combine them s hits, you might finally get a compliment out of them although they've dissed both of those fragrances before. Try it!

Herod for me is better and sexier than carlisle. But i get where carlisle is being picked by most because its a bit more complex than herod.

I own Layton Herod Godolphin Pegasus and Percival and I have to say the more time I spend with each of them the more I appreciate every one of them. My favorite house together with Tom Ford 💕
I almost bought Godolphin yesterday. I really really liked it but I feel like the salesperson was pushing me toward Carlisle. So I didn't get it and bought Carlisle. I love that one too but still want Godolphin. What events or occasions do you wear it, if you don't mind sharing.
I bought Layton in the COVID quarantine era. Before I got COVID I loved it. Post COVID and lingering scent and taste side effects, I hate Layton. Same with Office,Date Night and Aventus. My side effects have been getting better two years after, and I can’t actually appreciate them again. I still don’t like Layton because my mind tells me I hate it but I’m going to give it a shot. Maybe I should buy the Exclusif
PDM Layton is the only one that I’ve tried and yes it’s awesome. I even bought a couple different clones of it from the Woods Collection and the Amber Oud Bleu Exclusife.
Layton first (shocker), Herod second, Peg exclusif third, Sedley fourth. Not liked any others I’ve smelt enough to purchase yet. Interested in smelling Oujan and Carlisle.

Agree with your choices, especially with your choice of Layton over the Exclusif. So glad I only bought a sample of that one. I really don't understand the hype concerning Exclusif, it just doesn't seem to work at all and I enjoy some challenging scents. It's a coin toss though for me for the number one spot between your top two, I love them both.

I got to be honest I think pegasus is my favorite - just the smell of almonds is gorgoeus, layton with that apple and vanilla just sneaking through - basic I know but they are just my favorites :)
I have Carlisle and Sedley so far. Both are excellent.

I’ve only gotten my nose on PDM Kalan, Habdan and Sedley. And Sedley is definitely my favorite of the 3.
Orajan, Layton Exclusive, Percival, Greenley, Pegasus and Galloway are the ones I wear constantly. My favorites out of all PDM line.
Love most PdM stuff but Carlisle is my favorite. As you know it's basically Layton and Herod combined. Gorgeous scent

I recently went to the Parfum de Marly store in Paris and Godolphin was one of my absolute favorites. Herod became way too sweet for me after a few minutes. To me it smells much more unisex than Layton. I also like Percival a lot, but I get why it's not on the list.
Layton and Carlisle are my hands-down favorites. I consider both both Holy Grails. For something fresher, I am surprised that Greenley does not get more love.

Great video my favourites are Layton, Carlisle, Pegasus Ex, and Sedley - I like Oajan as well, but like Angel's Share more and they are in a similar wheelhouse, as you said. And yes, Layton is better than Layton Ex, but Pegasus Ex is better than Pegasus.

Believe it or not I like both sides, seeing as Herod is one of my favourites. My all time fav tho is definitely galloway. The burst of fresh citrus just makes me smile every time I smell it

Habdan is one of my favorites. I love both the fresh and the cool weather scents they have as well.

Like 1 scent for everyday/office, 1 scent for spring/summer/office, 1 scent for fall/winter/office, 1 for date night/day and 1 for special occasions/leather jacket? Would love to hear your thoughts, Julian
You mixed too much in your single categories, I was going to help you but I really don't know what to make of leather jacket/special occasions. Man, those are not related at all, lol

I own those and Layton, Sedley and Percival and those are all great, too.
Many others are really well made, but not my thing, like Oajan, Habnan, Akaster, etc.
However, both Exclusif scents smell awful on my skin, and Kalan and Godolphin are absolute scrubbers for me. Then again, I hate, hate, hate both Ombre and Tuscan Leather, so if I had read that before I bought the sample, I'd a saved $5, lol.
I've just blind bought the new harrods exclusive pdm haltane.
Can't wait for it to arrive in a cpl of days.

I find Oajan and Delina stunning on me. After that, it's Habdan.
I have Kalan, Pegasus, Pegasus exclusif, Godolphin, Layton, Layton exclusif, Herod and Percival love them all..
not sure if this will be a popular opinion, but I've smelled the entire parfums de Marley collection (marketed for men/discluding the women's fragrances) and my favourites are as followed: Herod (amazing spicy warm addicting smell) greenly: bright fresh uplifting fruity fresh fragrance)- I like to call this grown men Versace Eros, because one of my first fragrances was Versace eros (I'm only 18) and the apple in eros is what had me hooked, so likewise I like the apple in greenly. Carlisle because its close to Herod (IMO) but doesn't have as much charm and doesn't peak my interest as much, then Oijan, its tied with Carlisle but I see myself wearing it a less than Herod and Carlisle, then Galloway, I love how it makes me feel and its not so dark and serious as the others, and lastly Layton, followed by Percivel- they are fresher takes than what Perfumes de Marly typically produces.

Kalan is so much better than Carlisle! The sillage off Kalan is amazing like Layton. It's easily one of my most complimented fragrances of all. Layton Pegasus Herod and Sedley make out the rest of my top five
He's not the only person that likes the scent, I don't think it's groundbreaking but I do enjoy it.
I have been testing some PdM scents recently.I have tried Percival, Herod and Layton until now and what I can say is that each of this three has something special inside, but Layton and Herod has the 🥇 1st place ex aequo in my opinion (until now 🙂).
I am waiting for Layton Exclusif, Carlisle, Sedley and Greenley samples and I am really curious about each of them...

I have 75ml been having it for 2 years still got a lot of juice. It’s a beast mode performer and you really don’t have to spray to much on due to how strong it is.
I couldn’t agree more on Layton.
Someone could dislike Layton and Kilian Roses on Ice, but combine them s hits, you might finally get a compliment out of them although they've dissed both of those fragrances before. Try it!
