I am replacing my bathroom wood door with this glass barn door. Should I remove all of the molding around the door before installing the glass sliding door?

It is not absolutely necessary.. many customers leave it. You just want to make sure there is no interference once installed - refer to the dimensional drawings on our product page for clearances. You can also order the door taller to make sure the track is clear of the molding and sits flush against the wall. Feel free to call us with any other questions!

I have a similar door but I am told to install a back board before install unless I have a concrete wall because the door is heavy. Is it the same with this door?

You will want to confirm with your contractor and we can't speak to a third party product, but with this track, as long as you are mounting into the wall studs, you will have no issue with our doors.
